ON-DEMAND COMPUTING PROMISING | iSeries Network
IBM's $10 billion on-demand computing strategy, which it announced
last month, promises to tie the hardware, software, and services
divisions more closely together. According to one analyst, the
strategy doesn't introduce new concepts so much as combine
disparate initiatives IBM has already been working on. (Free

TRACK DOWN WHO DELETED FOLDERS | Advice: Search400.com
Dear Ask the Expert,
We have to send programs to our customers. For customers that we
connect to using TCP/IP, we start an FTP session and use the RCMD
function to create a member in the source file in the remote
iSeries before actually issuing the transfer. The RCMD command
fails for some iSeries, and works for others. In the situations
that it fails I have verified that the customers do not have any
FTP exit programs. What else can I look at on the iSeries to see
what is preventing the RCMD command? Security expert Carol Woodbury
offers some advice.

SECURE FTP SSL V5R1 | Advice: Search400.com
"JimnVirginia" writes, "I have a client who is interested in
receiving secure FTP transactions from the Web. I think I
understand what to do in setting this up on the 400 side, but what
does the 400 client have to do on their side? At this time we are
unsure as to whether this will be coming from a system type of host
or PC host." Do you know?

THE MISSING LINK | The "Secrets" out and Potter's fodder for Net
pirates
If you want to welcome back Potter and see Harry's new movie before
it hits the theater, you don't need to be a wizard. You do need
powers though -- power to your computer and power to your modem.
Evidently the geeky scofflaws of cyberspace have already scooped
the new "Chamber of Secrets" movie days before its theatrical
release. A Web site called uNDeR.THe.iNFLueNCe claims to have it,
and they probably got it from sneak preview showings last week in
the U.K. Warner Brothers officials said that they found an alleged
copy of the movie on the Net only to discover it was a blank decoy.
It's unclear if they visited the aforementioned site. Whoever's
doing this better hope they don't get caught. Warner Brothers is in
a prosecuting mood over this Hogwarts hijacking.
