EXTRACTION PROBLEMS WITH A DB2 FILE | Expert advice: Search400.com

Dear Ask the Expert,
When viewing the information in the flat file through iSeries some of
the columns are full of special characters and symbols rather than
the expected text characters. It is unlikely they are blobs because
the text normally contained in the columns would be very short. Why
is it in this format and how can I successfully extract the files
into readable format? DB2/400 and DB2 UDB expert Kent Milligan offers
some advice.

LOSING CLIENT ACCESS SESSIONS | Forum advice: Search400.com

"Rmagnan" writes, "I have 20 users on an NT server using Client
Access with TCP/IP to connect to the iSeries. Yesterday, all those on
Client Access froze for a couple of minutes and then some of them
lost one or more sessions. The screen becomes pitch black. We "X" out
the sessions, clicked the icons and we were back. What the heck is
that? No error messages on the console." A few other users seem to be
having the same problem. Check out what they had to say.
