What do you have to do to get a decent job?
A couple weeks ago, we asked Search400.com users how the economy was affecting their job security. While it's apparent that some feel the economy's grip more than others, the general consensus was clear: Things are pretty grim. Given the situation, what are you doing to find work or improve your job security?
Are you thinking of changing careers or do you plan to ride it out? Are you getting trained in other areas of information technology? Are you willing to take a pay cut? Are you using headhunters, the classifieds or the Internet? Is networking the only way to find a job? If you had luck finding a job in recent months, tell us how you did it.
Let us know what your experience or the experience of your peers has been like. E-mail your responses to me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]. And take our poll: What's the best way for an iSeries pro to find a job in this economy?

| Tip of the Week: |
Display messages, screens in a different language
Anyone who works with foreign users understands the importance of meeting their needs as well as those of your native users. You can't just assume they know your language. Often that means programs and interfaces must be in two languages.
Search400.com expert Dwight Beech has been in those shoes and discovered how easy it is to use the MSGCON keyword to set up the screens and reports to display in a different language. |
