Disable/enable multiple users
"USRPRF" uses V4R4 and wonders how to disable/enable multiple users at once on his disaster recovery box. In the event of a disaster, he wants to enable all the users quickly. Thankfully,"skitch210" walked him through the process.

Is it safe to load all the latest PTFs?
This person's iSeries has begun to hang intermittently. IBM told him that he didn't have the most recent TCP/IP PTFs loaded. He'd like to keep current on the PTFs and avoid future system problems, but wonders if loading unneeded PTFs to his system is safe. "Juvall" says it's perfectly safe.

Holding multiple spool files
"Jaws" is having trouble holding multiple spool files that are run within the same job and have the same name. He has a CL to hold several of the spool files, but three of them have the same name and he can only get the last one to save, or to create multiple copies. "Schreibrathome" had the same problem and offers to help. |

LPAR features you don't want to let slip under your radar screen
Whether you're new to LPAR or have been using it since its
inception, you'll want to make sure you don't let two recently
introduced features slip by without noticing. Both were introduced
with V5, and they make using LPAR almost mandatory, even if you
don't need it. |
