Maybe the person responsible for handling your return has been busy elf bowling. According to a federal study, Internal Revenue Service workers are often busy using the Net to send personal e-mail, visit naughty Web sites and play games; thousands of IRS computers, the study states, are being used for such surfing. Apparently, last year's "crackdown" on inappropriate Internet use within the agency didn't have much effect. But perhaps there's one good thing to take from all this: The "taxman" is human after all.
