But what about cats? Their meows, mews and purrs remained a mystery -- until now. The same company (Takara) will bring meows into the mix this fall with a gadget that gives kitties a voice. "Meowlingual" will work like its canine counterpart -- with a wireless microphone (attached to a collar) that picks up the cat's musings and sends them to a terminal for translation. A screen will tell whether the calico is cross, the Siamese is sad or the Himalayan is happy. Meowlingual will cost about half as much as Bowlingual.
