There's no doubt that FTP is the most convenient communication tool on the iSeries. Being able to do a manual transfer here and there is good, but to get some real use out of this type of utility, you need to be able to program it and control it using table-driven variables. This opens the door to scheduled transfers and the ability to feed data for business users on multiple platforms on a regular basis. How would you automate an FTP function? How would you go about creating a process to transfer a different file every day to different systems, the same file to different destinations or a combination of both? Thibault Dambrine shows you how easy it can be. >> LISTEN to broadcast: http://webevents.broadcast.com/techtarget/search400/061703/index.asp?loc=09?Offer=0815track >> DOWNLOAD the handout from Thibault's presentation: http://search400.techtarget.com/search400/downloads/Dambrine_slides.ppt?Offer=0815track =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= TAKE OUR POLL | Search400.com Reader Survey Do you believe your job to be more secure or less secure than it was at this time last year? >> CAST your vote: http://search400.techtarget.com/#poll?Offer=0815track =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= SEARCH400 SEARCH ENGINE | Find iSeries information fast Is Google one of your favorite search tools? A man in California has won his battle for the name bimbo.biz. Who wanted to take it from him? A huge Bimbo that bakes. Food firm Bimbo SA wanted the domain to stay in Spain, where the company is based. It already owns bimbo.com, bimbo.es and bimbogames.net, and it went to the U.N.'s copyright enforcement arm to take "dot-biz." But big Bimbo's bid for bimbo.biz was a bust. The California man gets to keep the name, as long as he doesn't sell competing baked goods on the site.
