You're then left wondering if WebFacing is even worth your while. It definitely is, says Web development expert Jim Mason. You just need to remember a few key things. >> CLICK here to view the complete tip: http://www.search400.com/tip/1,289483,sid3_gci943557,00.html?track=NL-182 ================================================================ Answers to Other Technical Questions ================================================================ OPTIONS FOR CALLING ISERIES COMMANDS FROM WEBFACED APPLICATIONS If you've WebFaced an application, you might be confused to see in your menus calls to iSeries commands such as WRKSPLF and yet you aren't able to use them. Search400.com expert Jim Mason says WebFacing doesn't handle user interface screens in the current release. That means commands such as WRKSPLF won't work in a WebFacing application. The good news is that you have several options to handle this situation. http://www.search400.com/tip/1,289483,sid3_gci936380,00.html?track=NL-182 DEALING WITH WEBFACING ERRORS A user turned to Jim Mason for some help after encountering an error while attempting to run his first WebFaced application in the WebSphere Test Environment in VAJAVA. Check out Jim's explanation. http://search400.techtarget.com/ateQuestionNResponse/0,289625,sid3_cid555129_tax285218,00.html?track=NL-182 WEBSPHERE: DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING IBM TELLS YOU Each time a new version of WebSphere application server rolls out, IBM says that server is state of the art and no other server compares. Is it really the best option? Not necessarily. The Value Manager found other servers may be better worth your while. http://search400.techtarget.com/tip/1,289483,sid3_gci914824,00.html?track=NL-182 WEBFACING CONFIGURATION ISSUES "PgmrBob" would like to try WebFacing, but he's running into initial configuration problems. He has WAS 3.5 installed and running for other applications, and WASD 5.1 with WebFacing 5.1 installed with some DDS converted. When he runs the index page it serves it from his PC instead of from the server that he sees in examples. Web development expert Jim Mason was on hand in the WebSphere and Web development Forum to help him out. http://search400.discussions.techtarget.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]@.ee84637/375 ________________________________________________________________ ***************** SPONSORED BY ebt-now.com ********************* iSeries WebSphere WebFacing QUICK-WEB-SOLUTIONS from www.ebt-now.com Save money, time, errors web-enabling existing iSeries apps & data - We plan, engineer, build, implement, train & support web apps - Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED] for a FREE, CUSTOM Web SEMINAR & PLAN _________________________________________________________________ IMPORTANT FEATURES AND LINKS: =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= DECEMBER WINNERS ANNOUNCED | Search400.com tips contest Drum roll please....
