It is sent to every computer that your computer connects to, including intermediaries. Because your IP is what you use to connect to anything on the internet, of corse it can be retreived by stw. Fun fact, when you connect to redspot, your computer name, username, and the path you put the redspot executible are all stored in a log file that sam can easily look back through. I'm willing to bet stw does the same thing, so does tk, etc. If I wanted to, I could make a command to get the IP of whoever I want in sbp in about 2 or 3 lines of code. The survive the wild map! This is a map of the locations of the players currently on the game. For privacy reasons this does not show player names, just a cool list of whare stw is being played in the world! Pretty cool! Keep in mind that I respect your privacy, and this is not a feature to break it. Anytime in the game if you decide you don't want your location to be visible, simply type /private into the in character chat, and it will completely destroy any notion of your location from the server. If you decide that you actually do want to show your location again, just type /private again in the in character fiend and your location is back! Anywhere you connect to can know your information unless you hide behind something that redirects your connection. Of course, VPN companies still have access to that information, but keeping secrets is what keeps them in business and if they can't be trusted with that then no one would use their services. I personally use Nord VPN, 75 dollars for a year or so. That's not the only way you are tracked but it's a damn good start.
