There is a freezer on top of the fridge.
You may put your bottle there.

You can also check if there are some ice cubes in it. If not, we can
probably get some from the restaurant.

And we have another one, bought this morning at Mostazo, calle de San
Anton.

For people interested in bringing back some good local stuff, e
definitely can recommend Mostazo.

To go there, turn left in Ronda de San Francisco, pass the roundabout
and take "Calle de Camino LLano" (the flat street...which is not that
flat), then Calle de Clavellinas. Mostazo is then facing you.

Re: [Debconf-discuss] [Debconf-announce] The now traditional Cheese and Wine party (formal announcement)

2009-07-24 Thread Nicolas François
Hello,

The Cheese & Wine Party will happen tomorrow (Saturday 2009-07-25) evening
at 23:00 in the Patio (close to the dinner place)

If you have any cheese or other stuff that require cooling (either for
preservation or taste), bring it to the front desk so that it can be
put in the fridge.
Note that the fridge is probably not suitable for most of the wines. Just
leave the bottles in your rooms if the wine does not need to be tasted
very cold.

It would be nice if the cheeses (or others) were labeled (name / country)
so that we actually know what we are tasting.
There will be paper plates where you will be able to put those
information. Please come in advance (10:15) to bring your stuff and
prepare these labels.

We are also looking for corkscrews. If you have a corkscrew, a swiss-army
knife or any other tool that can be used to open a bottle, please come
with it.

We will have a meeting tomorrow morning at 11:00 to check what need to be
bought (which could be local food, beverage, bread, or tools
(toothpicks?)), and to organize the preparation of the Cheese & Wine
party.
Some people will have to go to a local store (we received the address of a
good local store) before siesta time.

If you intend to participate for local food, there will be a collection
box at the front desk tomorrow. You can also join the meeting mentioned
above to participate to the choice.

Best Regards,

The core cheese team (Eddy Petrisor, Michal Cihar, Moray Allan,
Nicolas François and myself as of now) will assemble tomorrow at 11:00
in order to examine the cheese situation..:-)

We anyway have already considered going to seek for local cheese, more
or less whatever happens.

So, I suggest that people who want to joint us in a cheese shopping
party just pop up at 11:00 at Front Desk tomorrow. As a reward, you'll

I have written down my name, and I have the intention of bringing some
typical Galician "tetilla" cheese [1]. The issue is that I will be
travelling the 25th, and I will arrive ~3 hours before the party.

I have seen that an organization meeting will be held on Friday 24th.
Is it okay for me to bring the cheese even when I will not be able to
attend the organization meeting? (I hope so!)

At first glance, I'd say "probably not". I'm slightly worried about
the amount of cheese we currently have. As the wiki page says, nothing
in the event is very deeply prepared, so anything can

Do we actually have enough cheese to be able to actually replace dinner
for a large amount of people?

I personally don't see a reason to put my name on the list: I intend to
have dinner, so that I turn up in the mood of sampling little bits, not
of getting a meal.

If we end up having some cheese left, surely we can put it the following
day on the tables near the hacklabs.

I expect many of us will skip dinner altogether, or at least have a

quite close already to the party, but I hope we can ask the caterers
