The latest security upgrade introduces a bug: the attachment zone that is located at the bottom of a mail (when
reading it in a separate window or in the lists of mails) is very small (2mm height) which means you cannot select
the attachments, not see how many or what they are. This is blocker :/

I also tried everything possible (purging, removing my user configuration, etc.) while using the security upgrade and
nothing make it back to normal size.

I downgraded and it worked again.

Please fix :)

Any output in the java script console?

Yes :)

which apparently concerns

Anything unusual on the console?

This is clearly a fault of dvipdfmx. Please try to remove
"/usr/bin/mktexlsr" out of /var/lib/dpkg/info/dvipdfmx.postrm
(line 6) and purge dvipdfmx first.

This looks strange to me but what happend if you purge
preview-latex-style alone manually.

Bug#385102: linux-patch-debian-2.6.17: broken unpatch/debian script (calls non-existent "/usr/src/kernel-patches/all/2.6.17" dir)

2006-08-28 Thread Sukant Hajra
Package: linux-patch-debian-2.6.17
Version: 2.6.17-7
Severity: important

Hi,

I'm just an end user, and I was originally downloading
linux-source- packages to compile them "the Debian way" with
make-kpkg. I decided that it might be nice to save the time downloading
the entire kernel source, and instead just download the Debian patches.
Also, I thought it might be easy to integrate other patches I have with
the same system make-kpkg uses for the "debian" patches.

/usr/src/kernel-patches/all/unpatch is the following script:

#!/bin/sh
set -e
upstream="2.6.17"
exec "/usr/src/kernel-patches/all/$upstream/apply/debian" \
  "$upstream-0"

But there's no /usr/src/kernel-patches/all/2.6.17 directory.

This is easily fixed (at least I think it's fixed) with a symlink from
/usr/src/kernel-patches/all/2.6.17 -> /usr/src/kernel-patches/all, but
I'm not sure this is really the best way to go about it. make-kpkg has
a lot of pieces to it, and maybe in the long run this is a bad idea.

So I was hoping to close this bug you could make this package work out
of the box and maybe install some text file in
/usr/share/doc/linux-patch-debian-2.6.17 if there's something a simple
end user not in the know (like myself) needs to know to get everything
working.

Thanks,
Sukant

I have no idea; is this something I should have an opinion on? :) If you
don't mean for the binary to be invoked directly by an admin, then of course
/usr/lib is allowed/preferred under the FHS.

Bug#385100: Etch beta3 failure on mipsel (emulated)

2006-08-28 Thread Michel Lespinasse
Package: installation-reports

Boot method: CD
Image version: etch beta3 mipsel netinst. Also tried daily built image (aug 28)
Date: August 28, 2006

Machine: DECstation 5000/200, simulated using gxemul (gxemul -e3max)

Comments:

I did not succeed with the install.

I was trying to follow gxemul installation instructions from
http://gavare.se/gxemul/gxemul-stable/doc/guestoses.html#declinux
I've been successful following these instructions to install Sarge 31r2,
but not so with the Etch installer.

Before executing 'load installer components from CD' I can execute a shell
and run /bin/archdetect; it returns mipsel/r3k-kn02 which is proper.
I also make a copy of /bin/archdetect into /bin/archdetect.orig at this point.

When executing 'load installer components from CD', the installer first
complains about the lack of modules for my kernel. This is expected since
I'm using a different kernel than the one provided by debian. Shortly
after that the installer tries to unpack the archdetect module and fails
while trying to run it. The error message is "Loading archdetect failed
for unknown reasons. Aborting".

If I execute a shell again, I see that /bin/archdetect has been overwriten
when pool/main/h/hw-detect/archdetect_1.40_mipsel.udeb was installed.
When running the new /bin/archdetect executable I get:
/bin/archdetect: /lib/libdebian-installer.so.4: version `LIBDI_4.5' not
found (required by /bin/archdetect)
I can still run /bin/archdetect.orig and see mipsel/r3k-kn02 as expected.

I believe the pool/main/h/hw-detect/archdetect_1.40_mipsel.udeb file on
the etch beta3 mipsel CDrom is not at the correct version. This seems similar
to bug #320916 which happened a year ago, but I did not figure out from that
how I can work around the issue.

Thanks,

Bug#385098: libsemanage: .version file for python package (python-semanage) contains spaces

2006-08-28 Thread Rudolph Pereira
Package: libsemanage
Severity: important

After attempting installation of selinux-policy-refpolicy-targeted I
encountered bug #384849 and traced it through to the .version in
python-selinux and python-semanage having a space like so:

2.3, 2.4

Unfortunately, it looks like python-support

resulting in non-working modules (and hence non-working semanage,
genhomedircon, etc.). I intend to file a bug with python-support, but in the
meantime you might want to consider removing the space between versions
when building the package. By my reckoning this would be a simple change
to debian/local.mk.

225896 talks about mbox import, drag-and-drop, and opening. 266175

Bug#350740: seamonkey build

2006-08-28 Thread Hendrik-Jan Heins

Hello list,

I built a version of seamonkey based on Jaldahar's version combined
with the older mozilla 1.7.13 version (and some creative thinking of
course).
The result is a Seamonkey package that is split up in parts just like
the old mozilla package.

Let me elaborate a bit on the how and what here: I used to build .rpm
packages for Mandriva. But since february I started using Debian Sid
(Kanotix) full time.
So I know how to build packages, a bit...
Building this one took quite some effort as I am not familiar with the
debhelper tools. But I managed to get it working the way I wanted.
Now this version does still contain some lintian errors, and the rules
file can probably be cleaned a bit further, but the program is
working.

Is anybody here interested in the files?

regards,

Hendrik-Jan Heins

Bug#385095: linux-image-2.6.17-2-k7: Flaky mouse and sluggish interactive response

2006-08-28 Thread Daniel Dickinson
Package: linux-image-2.6.17-2-k7
Version: 2.6.17-7
Severity: important

On a system that works with 2.6.16-2-k7_2.6.16-18 upgrading to
2.6.17-2-k7_2.6.17-7 results in a system for which the mouse (a

feels sluggish (perhaps just poor task switching) and for which typing
occurs in fits and starts. It may matter than boinc-client is
installed on this system (or may not) and has a cpu heavy task running
in the background (but again 2.6.16-2-k7 has no problem).

The problem is that after you type the username, but before the program
begins taking password input, it is possible to type directly into the
shell. This means that if someone begins typing their password
prematurely will have it displayed on screen, and logged.

I absolutely can't reproduce this with login 4.0.18.1-2, ie the
version in unstable (and soon testing).

FWIW, I don't remember what I was thinking. Removing that depending may
have been a mistake. *shrug*

IWBNI quickplot could remember a preferred set of plot settings (point

I'm following the GNU coding standards: "If a lower-case identifier
comes at the beginning of a sentence, don't capitalize it! Changing
the spelling makes it a different identifier."

Fixed.

   Capitilization again.

I'm a little concerned about the short name for the package. However, if
it's widely known in the field, it's probably okay.

aa has been used for a long time. However, Ron Johnson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I think this is a better argument.

Seems a bit wordy. However I'm getting used to it. It would be more
informative in a list of package names. Okay, I'll make the change.

It's possible to copyright a particular program that implements a free
algorithm. Fortunately it is not a problem here, since Steve Moshier
is willing to license his work. The Debian package of labplot
includes his "cephes" library which he licensed under GPL. I'm
confident we can work something out for aa too. (And of course I
won't upload the package until we do.)

Hi,

the network at the local university does WPA2 with EAP. However, they use
different network names for different AP zones.
It is rather much work to reenter all the credentials for every zone. Instead,
it would be nice to have the possibility to define groups or use regular

Ah, I forgot to note that I'm using xserver-xorg-video-ati and
xserver-xorg-core from experimental. You can use --no-vmlinux
(--vmlinux is for profiling the kernel itself, you don't need it for
userspace).

Moving an opaque window in FVWM 2.5.17 brings Xorg up to 60% CPU (2500
AthlonXP) or so on my 9200SE system, but it remains responsive. Moving
a window frame (no animation) doesn't seem to use much CPU at all :)

I'm using 24-bit color on a 1600x1200 display here without problems,
Otherwise, my xorg config is fairly standard, I'm not using the Composite
extension, or even backingstore (never noticed a difference with it).

I'm also using the following settings (set for stability), but they
don't seem to affect 2D performance
 Option "AGPFastWrite""off"
 Option "EnablePageFlip" "false"

I'm also using a stock 2.6.16.16 kernel on my 9200SE with a fairly
conservative config (no preempt, 100Hz).

You can get a pointer to the Elf struct for the current file as
ebl->elf. From there you can use something like the following to get
the elf header:
GElf_Ehdr ehdr_mem;
GElf_Ehdr *ehdr = gelf_getehdr (elf, &ehdr_mem);

With the elf header you got e_flags too.

Aside from this, a mips status report: I implemented the register
mappings, but I've got to do some more reading for the retval stuff.

Bug#385086: gnome-desktop-environment: should depend on libgnome2-perl for debconf

2006-08-28 Thread Henrik Kroeger
Package: gnome-desktop-environment
Version: 1:2.14.2.1
Severity: wishlist

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Hi!

gnome-desktop-environment or gnome-utils should depend on libgnome2-perl or
tasksel
should somehow select it.

In a default Debian Installation with tasksel selecting "Desktop Environment"
obviously
libgnome2-perl does not get installed. This results in debconf not being able
to use the
gnome-interface. Debconf even suggests installing it then.

If a (novice) user uses i.e. Synaptic and installs i.e. seahorse (a package
asking a debconf-question)
the user will not be asked the question until she/he clicks on the
details-button.

2006-08-28 Thread Hendrik Sattler
Package: network-manager-kde
Version: 0.09+0.1r560817-1

Hi,

Currently, I can select a network to connect to it. But selecting it again
will not disconnect from it, instead it does non-sense: it reconnects!?
Not very logical.

ATM, the only way to disconnect is to disable wireless and enable it again.

Bug#385089: network-manager-kde: fails to use kwallet after boot

2006-08-28 Thread Hendrik Sattler
Package: network-manager-kde
Version: 0.09+0.1r560817-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

I now tried this several times and everytime the same result:
- knetworkmanager starts
- kwalletmanager gets started and the wallet is opened
- I correctly enter the wallet password

These two are optional but actually mark the error:
- I click on my WLAN entry
- knetworkmanager cannot retrieve the PSK :-(

These are the steps to success:
- I quit knetworkmanager
- I start knetworkmanager
- I click on my WLAN entry
- knetworkmanager successfully gets the PSK from the wallet

I would rather like to have it working without manually restarting it.
Possible?

For what it's worth, the debian-legal summary doesn't appear to be very
solid. As suggested by Anthony Towns[1], I've asked Joerg to take a
look at the license/bug report and give his opinion.

We don't require authors to use any license. We like to suggest that
they relicense (or dual license if possible) if their current license
doesn't meet Debian's Free Software Guidelines[2]. If that isn't
acceptable/possible, in many cases (such as this one) we can still
provide the documentation to the end user but it requires an extra step
on their end.

Ideally, a re-examination of the license on Debian's side will determine
that it does meet our guidelines. Thank you for taking the time to
respond to our questions.

Or that nVidia never wrote the driver in the first place. I cannot find any
nVidia copyrights on it -- it seems to have been reverse-engineered and then
written up by the current copyright holders.

TBH, I don't think there is any other form in existence, unless you want to
count the proprietary drivers this probably was reverse engineered from at
some distant past.

ctrl-c shouldn't make any difference since these are kernel messages.
However, you will eventually get a prompt & should be able to ssh in
and install the 2.6.17 kernel from sid. reboot again, and things
should be fine.

This will go away when 2.6.17 enters etch - the installer needs no
additional fixes.

Bug#382427: Problem solved

2006-08-28 Thread Pelle Nilsson
Hi!

At first I thought that the first lines of the form

Warning: Color name "Black" is not defined

had nothing to do with the segfault, but they turned out to be the
source of the problem. Similar error messages started to appear in
other apps (sawfish and gnuplot) and some googling indicated that it
had something to do with the file /etc/X11/rgb.txt. After reinstalling
the package x11-common that owns that file, the problems went away in
all the apps, so the bug must actually have been in the update process
of xorg in the debian packaging I guess. You may close the bug unless
you think it's unacceptable for XEmacs to segfault in a broken xorg
installation.

/Pelle

Bug#382696: r-doc-html: Confirmed on upgrade from 2.3.1-1

2006-08-28 Thread Chris Lawrence
Package: r-doc-html

Hey Dirk - this bug definitely hits on the upgrade from 2.3.1-1 to
2.3.1-2 (I found this out when finally upgrading my work box after the
big move from NC).

I can't even get the package to install with --force-all... my strong
suspicion is that removing the trailing / from the rm (as Don
suggests) will fix the problem.

Bug#384928: thunderbird: Please do something about the whole locale-reinstall-after-upgrade issue

Sorry, Alexander, reportbug was supposed to attach my original bug
report from /tmp but didn't: Whenever I upgrade and then re-start
thunderbird, it complains that the current locale does not correspond to
the current version of TB. We all know this is not true and can fix this
by a simple

# aptitude reinstall thunderbird-locale-de

but this is annoying. Please update both packages at the same time or
make thunderbird depend on the corresponding locale version right away.

Best regards,
André

Patch for arm support is attached. It however adds support for only one
ABI variant supported by gcc (default one, -mabi=apcs-gnu -mhard-float).

Support for -msoft-float can be added easily if if will be possible to
get e_flags member from ELF header in arm_return_value_location(), but I
do not see how it can be done.

I also do not see how it is possible to add support for other ABIs now,
AFAIKS gcc/binutils do not put information about ABI to ELF file.

elfutils were tested with this patch on both i386 and arm machines.

I hadn't seen this bug report; thanks for pointing me to it.

I just tried to reproduce this bug, with no success.

I built a trivial VCD, using vcdimager and a single MPEG file. I could
play the resulting VCD with xine with no trouble. Here are the versions
of the libraries I am using:

ii libcdio6 0.76-1 library to read and control CD-ROM
ii libiso9660-4 0.76-1 library to work with ISO9660 filesystems
ii libvcdinfo00.7.23-3 library to extract information from VideoCD
ii libxine1 1.1.2-2the xine video/media player library, binary

What versions Are you using?
Any idea how I can reproduce the bug?

Cheers,

Nicolas

tar on etch does not take --wildcards as default breaking

Woops! I was copying all Backends dir to beagle-backend-evolution, and
I didn't realized that this new backend was also there. I will include
it in main Beagle package if it does not pull any dependency in
thunderbird either, or I will create a new package for it if needed.

Bug#357629: This patch needs changes

2006-08-28 Thread Phil Endecott
I've just tried building gcc-3.3 with this patch applied and it gets the
Provides: lines wrong for libstdc++. Comparing it with the patch for gcc-3.4
(bug #357658) I changed the mentions of GCC_SO to CXX_SO in the obvious
places, and it superficially seems to work.

(I'd love to see a release of gcc-3.3 including this fix - it would have saved
me a lot of pain over the last few days!)

Thanks, Phil.

Bug#385078: xserver-xorg: impossible mouse configuration other than /dev/input/mice

2006-08-28 Thread Mario 'BitKoenig' Holbe
Package: xserver-xorg
Version: 1:7.0.23
Severity: serious

Hello,

upgrading xserver-xorg from 6.9.0.dfsg.1-6 to 1:7.0.23 broke my
previously running X:

No core pointer

Fatal server error:
failed to initialize core devices

This is because xserver-xorg.config forces mouse port to /dev/input/mice
while it was /dev/gpmdata before. And since /dev/input/mice just doesn't
exist, startx fails.
I think this is because xserver-xorg.config seems to hardcode the mouse
port to /dev/input/mice currently:

xserver-xorg.config:2022:AUTODETECTED_PORT="/dev/input/mice"
xserver-xorg.config:2023:AUTODETECTED_PROTOCOL="ImPS/2"
xserver-xorg.config:2024:
xserver-xorg.config:2025:db_subst xserver-xorg/config/inputdevice/mouse/port
choices $AUTODETECTED_PORT
xserver-xorg.config:2026:auto_answer db_input "$(priority_ceil low)"
xserver-xorg/config/inputdevice/mouse/port "${AUTODETECTED_PORT}"
xserver-xorg.config:2027:
xserver-xorg.config:2028:db_get xserver-xorg/config/inputdevice/mouse/port

And because I always configured X via xserver-xorg, the config entry has
the seen flag set and is not shown again. I'm not even able to change it
via dpkg-reconfigure :/ Yes, my debconf/priority is set to low, but also
an explicit dpkg-reconfigure -plow doesn't show it.

I don't know why you think you need to hardcode things this way - okay,
the mouse autodetection didn't work well with 6.9 (especially with gpm
running it left the mouse in some strange state), but IMHO asking users
then would be a better option.

Since for most users /dev/input/mice should be available, I don't set
the bug's severity to grave. However, I don't think the package is
suitable for release with this behaviour. Especially because the package
currently breaks previously running systems this way.

My X was always configured via the package's config-interface. This is
currently impossible - I have to manually fix my xorg.conf since the
package doesn't leave me another chance :/

   Mario

Package: apache
Version: 1.3.33-6sarge2

Maybe I'm just misinformed, but large files support (>2GB) doesn't work.
For example if large file is present in the directory and the directory is
listed
using apache (ie mod_autoindex), the presented filesize is the real filesize
modulo 2GB. I think in these days, when filesizes >2GB are getting more common
(see DVD images, etc.) it's critical bug that default installation of apache in
such distribution as Debian doesn't support them.

No, I do not know what the difference between .16 and .17 is... and we
may need to do git bisect after all..

Can you point me to the package whose restart failed?

When the daemon is replaced, start-stop-daemon should notice it because
when readlink'ing the /proc//exe file, the executable is followed by
" (deleted)".

Based on the code and on the tests I did, this seems to work nicely.

Kind Regards,

If that's successful, we'll probably upload in the next couple days.

This is it not really a bug in the strict sense of the term, as this is
simply the default behaviour of GTK+.
Anyway, i'll try to see if it's possible making the enter key activate
the ok button (and it should be).

This is the same problem as #382979, the dependency probably needs to
be adapted again to the epoch bump.

The dependancy should be: xserver-xorg-core (>= 2:1.1.1-1) and not
xserver-xorg-core (>= 1:1.1.1-1)
as any disposable version of xserver-xorg are (>=2:0.0.0-0) It is hard
to upgrade x-server-xorg-core as it conflicts x-server-xorg-video. I
think I am going to have troubles with glx... (nvidia-glx provides
xserver-xorg-video name instead of xserver-xorg-video-1)

Package: libcaca-dev

Hello,

'pkg-config --libs caca' and 'caca-config --libs' don't output the same
result. the former is very simple just '-lcaca -lcucul' the latter
longer with slang, GL, Glut and ncursesw.
VLC's caca module compiles with just -lcaca -lcucul. So maybe it's
caca-config which need an update.

Or if caca-config is correct, could you make libcaca-dev depends on
libncursesw5-dev and freeglut3-dev.

Thanks,

Bug#385077: php5-pgsql: Will not connect to PostgreSQL 8.1

2006-08-28 Thread Tyler Riddle
Package: php5-pgsql
Version: 5.1.4-0.1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

The package will not connect to PostgreSQL 8.1; the connection fails
with the following error:

Warning: pg_connect() [function.pg-connect]: Unable to connect to

None of the options is used. Thus according to FSF this is a free
license.

Don't see how that matters. There are probably dozens of other
organisatiosn that don't list it.

This is a bogus point in my opinion. Since copyright is automatically
given by creating something, every text should have the author mentioned
and/or is automatically associated to it. Thus this is actually implied
in every created work, no matter if it is mentioned in the license or
not, since law goes above a license.

The solution is to use a fantasy name for the author. There is nothing
to stop someone from doing that, as far as I know. And the license used
is irrelevant.

I think that's your problem. Requiring authors to use exactly the
license you approve of is actually close to dictatorial behavior.
Please consider losing the rules a bit, so that you can actually claim
to have a "free" operating system.

In my opinion the docs go under a free license, I don't see a reason to
change it. And I actually can't change it, since I used text from Steve
Oualline's book in the user manual, and that text uses this license.

Just to append to this bug - as Erik states, the nightly installer works
pretty well. However, on the HP DL320 G4's that we have here, we cannot
ctrl-c out of the USB loop. Going to keep an eye on the nightly builds
while I attempt to do a rescue mount of some sort to see if I can work

Well, with this, the system does not wake up either.

Moreover, it *also* does not wake up properly when I boot with the
2.6.16 kernel.

Indeed, when the suspend to RAM happens while the machine is in text
mode, the system usually does not wake up properly, either with 2.6.16
 or 2.6.17

The wake up works well when initiated in graphics mode with the 2.6.16
kernel.

Bug#385074: debian-installer: [etch-beta3] graphical-installer does not have or does not allow to use console

2006-08-28 Thread Alexander Petrov
Package: debian-installer
Severity: normal

graphical-installer doesn't allow to switch to console using Alt+F2 or
Ctrl+Alt+F2 - it just creates a cloned instance of itselves, which is
hard to differentiate from the first one.
To reproduce:
1. Using graphical-installer scroll to any step in in the list.
2. Press Alt+F2: No console is shown [BUG]
3. Select any other step.
4. Press Alt+F1: you return to the main instance of installer [GOOD]
5. Note, that switching back changes cursor position of selected step.

Bug#383600: behaviour of update-initramfs -u has changed, only updates latest kernel initrd

2006-08-28 Thread Michael Biebl
maximilian attems wrote:
> first of all this not serious,
> update-initramfs -u doesn't update _all_ initramfs

>

Mea culpa! You are right, update-initramfs -u never updated all
initramfs (only your last email made this clear to me).
I'm not quite sure anymore how I came to this conclusion. It probably
happened, because I use two initrd enabled kernels, a 2.6.18-rc testing
kernel and a stable 2.6.17 kernel, which I use as default.
I was experimenting with uswsusp some time ago and after an upgrade of
initramfs-tools, I noticed that upon calling update-initramfs -u it
didn't update my 2.6.17 (which I was running) initrd anymore but the
2.6.18-rc initrd. Now that I think of it (and I hope I'm not wrong again
this time) you changed the behaviour from updating the running initrd to
updating the latest initrd, and from this I somehow drew the wrong
conclusion that before this change, all initrds were updated. I can only
remember that from one day to the other things were behaving differently
regarding update-initramfs. Sorry for the noise.

Though I think my point is still valid.
IMHO it would be correct to apply (security) updates of packages like
udev to all installed kernels, because you can't know which kernel
actually is the default kernel on a system.
Your standpoint is that people are supposed to only run the latest
kernel. But what if someone installs linux-image-486 and linux-image-686
kernel? Both are supported by Debian (your argument that old unames are
not supported does not hold here) but you can't know for sure that 686
is the kernel that the user runs.
It surely is not such a common use case, still it happened to me. So my
bug report was indeed meant serious. I'm only sorry that I phrased my
problem poorly.
I'd find it pretty handy if update-initramfs -u, given that it detects
that more than one kernel is installed, would give me the choice which
initrd is updated. Could be a low prio question and only shown if
currently running kernel != latest installed kernel.
Guess this qualifies for a wishlist bug then, I'll leave that up to you.

Cheers,
Michael

Bug#385072: pcscd: excessive amount of logging

Bug#385069: moreutils: Please add "dirempty" command

2006-08-28 Thread Erich Schubert
Package: moreutils

Hi,
Testing a directory to be empty in bash is hackish, see
http://wooledge.org/mywiki/BashFaq#head-6ec77504553115e8518271d0d319e27148634f19

The cleanest way probably is
if [ -z "$(ls -A "$dir")" ]; then
fi

Maybe we should add a small utility which does test this in a sane way.

if dirempty "$dir"; then

Bug#384209: gnus-bonus-el: Cc-fix feature in gnus-pers is horribly broken

Unfortunately, there are some minor flaws in the patch I sent before.
Please apply the newly attached one on top of the previous one.

As you can see, the add on patch uses regexp-quote where appropriate
and, additionally, removes the Cc header if all addresses in that
field are matched by the current From:.

2006-08-28 Thread Alexander Petrov
Package: debian-installer
Severity: important

Installer was unable to mount second of two JFS volumes

I have 2 JFS volumes: for / and for /home.
Installer had problems with mounting both of them in unpredictible way,
so I ended up with formatting the root partition (sda5) and not mounting
/home in the installer.
The log on the console 4 said something about not being able to mount
XFS (sic!). So I installed using following technique:
1. step through all installer screens up to part man
2. use /dev/sda5 as jfs
3. do not use /dev/sda7
4. go to console && modprobe -r xfs
5. go back to installer and proceed with formatting /dev/sda5
6. be happy debian user again =)

Bug#385056: Thunderbird backend in beagle-backend-evolution

2006-08-28 Thread Rick Friedman
Package: beagle
Version: 0.2.8-1
Followup-For: Bug #385056

The Thunderbird backend is actually in package beagle-backend-evolution. In
order to get the Thunderbird backend, I had to install
beagle-backend-evolution. Unfortunately, this also installed evolution itself
(for which I have no need) as well as several other packages which, apparently,
beagle-backend-evolution depends on.

It seems to me the Thunderbird backend should be moved into the main beagle
package. As someone who uses Thunderbird, I shouldn't have to install evolution
on my system to get the Thunderbird backend for beagle.

Hi,

You are right, czsk layout was a combination of 2 groups, and all such
layouts have been removed from xkeyboard-config. The reason is that
such layouts cannot be combined with other layouts, say for instance
 $ setxkbmap -model pc104 -layout czsk,ru
You now have to explicitly select the two groups, maybe
 $ setxkbmap -model pc104 -layout us,sk -option grp:shifts_toggle
is a good alternative? If not, please describe differences with the
former czsk layout.
Thanks

Denis
