Bug#547186: g15daemon: Random crashes
Am Freitag, den 18.09.2009, 12:55 +0200 schrieb Giacomo A. Catenazzi: Could you check in /var/log/syslog, if at the time of the crash there is some additional information? The daemon is terminated with SIGKILL, and this signal should not be caused by the daemon itself (SEGSEGV, SIGILL, SIGBUS, etc. are delivered for internal errors). So I think an external program/setting will send such signals, on passing some limits or with invalid permissions. So I expect ulimits, acct, selinux, etc to send the signal. No, there is no additional info in syslog, not from g15daemon and not from any other program or setting, except the announcement of the new keyboard kernel: [ 175.245228] input: G15 Extra Keys as /devices/virtual/input/input7 but this comes directly after the start of g15daemon, not before its crash. I don't have selinux or acct running, neither do I set special ulimits for any program. Bye Hansi -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. The fix code after postinst of 0.3-1 passes looks like this: # policy files that were not removed in 0.3~svn.r90520-1 to 0.3-1 upgrade if [ $1 = configure ] dpkg --compare-versions $2 = 0.3-2; then if [ -f /usr/share/cli-common/packages.d/policy.0.2.Mono.Addins.installcligac ]; then echo Removing forgotten GAC policy file: Mono.Addins 0.2... /usr/share/cli-common/policy-remove Mono.Addins 0.2 fi if [ -f /usr/share/cli-common/packages.d/policy.0.2.Mono.Addins.Setup.installcligac ]; then echo Removing forgotten GAC policy file: Mono.Addins.Setup 0.2... /usr/share/cli-common/policy-remove Mono.Addins.Setup 0.2 fi fi The bug is only triggered when mono-gac is upgraded after 0.3-1 was installed. Bug#547408: rhythmbox: sid/i386 binaries require experimental libsoup
Package: rhythmbox Version: 0.12.5-1 Severity: serious Justification: Policy 2.2.1 RB 0.12.5-1 was uploaded to sid, but the i386 maintainer build requires libsoup-gnome2.4-1 (= 2.27.92) and libsoup2.4-1 (= 2.27.92), which are only satisfiable in experimental. Versions produced by the buildds (so far that's alpha and amd64) are fine, since they only depend on sid versions of libsoup. Please build packages for sid in a clean sid environment, even if you're using some experimental packages yourself; pbuilder, sbuild and schroot are useful for this. http://www.pseudorandom.co.uk/2008/sbuild-dm/ explains the setup I use. Bug#533785: gdc-4.2: non-standard gcc/g++ used for build (gcc-4.2)

Package: util-linux Version: 2.16.1-2 Severity: serious Your package erroneously depends on install-info, a package that is not and should not be required. Bug#547436: pidgin-data: unavailable previous version in lenny-backports makes install of pidgin impossible
Package: pidgin-data Version: 2.6.2-1~bpo50+1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable The present lenny-backports version of the pidgin-data package is 2.6.2-1~bpo50+1. However, the lenny-backports pidgin packages for all archs. but ia64 and powerpc (2.5.9-1~bpo50+1) have the followind pidgin-data version dependencies requirements: dep: pidgin-data ( 2.5.9-z) [not ia64, powerpc] dep: pidgin-data (= 2.5.9) [not ia64, powerpc] These dependencies can be met neither from lenny nor from lenny-backports. It is therefore impossible to install pidgin from lenny-backports at the moment. Until 2.6.2-1~bpo50+1 version of pidgin moves to lenny-backports, I think that version 2.5.9-1~bpo50+1 of pidgin-data should be made available for all these architectures. Bug#547351: l7-filter-userspace: [FTBFS] 'nfct_sprintf_protocol' was not declared
2009/9/19 Jakub Wilk uba...@users.sf.net: * Alan Woodland awoodl...@debian.org, 2009-09-18, 21:51: Justification: Policy 5.8.2 My copy of Debian Policy does not have such a section: $ zgrep -cF 5.8.2 /usr/share/doc/debian-policy/policy.txt.gz 0 Whoops, not sure where that came from! How about 4.9 instead? That pretty much covers debian/rules making packages. With the new version of libnetfilter-conntrack these functions seem to have been removed entierly, and the build now fails: l7-conntrack.cpp: In function 'int sprintf_conntrack_key(char*, nfct_conntrack*, unsigned int)': l7-conntrack.cpp:129: error: 'nfct_sprintf_protocol' was not declared in this scope ... That looks very bad. *Lots* of code that l7-f-u relied on was removed from the library. If it was deprecated there must be a recommended alternative surely? Are upstream likely to fix this in the near future? Might be worth asking the libnetfilter-conntrack for advice? Do you want to package the kernel module instead?
