try

apt-get install termcap-compat

that command is to be used in slink, the package name may be different if
your running potato

(not termcap.compat)  

and make sure you are using AccelX5 not v4.

It's ``termcap-compat'' in potato. Don't put .deb in commands to
apt-get. Just do:
 $ apt-get update
 $ apt-get install termcap-compat

Hi,
I am still tring to find the termcomp or termcap.compt file to
make Accelerated X work.
The search engine on debians site is not working and I cannot seem to find
the file on my debian cd.
if I issue the command apt-get install termcap.compat.deb it says it cannot 
find tyhe file. This file cannot be this hard to find. Please help. I am
