[Bug 410407] Re: Clicking on items in Flash player does nothing [READ DESCRIPTION]
I am the Chromium developer who fixed this again. Not that anyone cares anymore, but: the problem was that Flash breaks if GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS isn't set. The first fix was to set that in our plugin process before starting Flash. However, GTK clears the environment variable after initializing. So with nspluginwrapper we would set the variable, initialize GTK, and then call into the plugin (nspluginwrapper), which would then spawn its helper process which then would run Flash without the variable set. So as of today's release of Chrome we set the variable, initialize GTK, and then immediately set the variable again before calling into the plugin. It seems Firefox may have this second bug as well. http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=15232 If I remember tomorrow I will attempt to track down that bug in their bug tracker again. ** Bug watch added: defect.opensolaris.org/bz/ #15232 http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=15232 -- Clicking on items in Flash player does nothing [READ DESCRIPTION] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/410407 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gtk+2.0 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 576753] [NEW] gnome-screensaver will only let you unlock screen with first pointer even if there are multiple pointers via MPX
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver Even when there are multiple pointers via MPX, the gnome-screensaver unlock dialog will only let you enter your password with the first pointer and keyboard pair. To reproduce: Using Ubuntu 10.04 and having set up MPX (there's a tutorial at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/MPX) , Let the screensaver turn on (you could shorten the time it takes if you don't want to wait.) Try to unlock the computer with the second mouse / keyboard pair. Notice that it completely ignores the second pair, making it impossible to unlock the screen with the second pair. Unlock the screen with the first mouse / keyboard pair. What I expected to happen instead: That I would be able to unlock the screen with any MPX pointer/keyboard&mouse pair. [Bug 520118] Re: thunar select freezes after using mouse to select folders ("detailed view" mode)
This is driving me crazy! I was away for four days and had no internet and unfortunately chose that time to do a clean install of Xubuntu Lucid. When Thunar stopped working I tried everything, even clean installing another three times (one was for a sound bug that gave me no sound). For me, it seems to not matter what view the pane is in - detailed, icons, or compact. I can do one operation then it is as though the pane is empty. I cannot select anything or move within directories though interestingly the breadcrumb navigation and shortcuts in the tree still work. Even the mouse wheel lets me scroll the pane contents - I just can't left or right click anything. I tried changing all my permissions on my folders and files to no avail. I tried thunar as sudo and that actually seemed to work properly until that too stopped. I tried deleting the ~/.config/thunar config folder. No effect, though if I do that AND reboot I am able to do maybe five operations before it stops responding. And on some reboots I am able to use left and right click for a few operations having done nothing at all. It is very difficult to narrow down what the bug is but it effectively makes thunar useless. -- thunar select freezes after using mouse to select folders ("detailed view" mode) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/520118 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gtk+2.0 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 575975] Re: Unable to launch some Gnome games in 10.04 LTS
Hello Daniel, Thank you for your concern. I upgraded from an older version. It's a long time i have Ubuntu now. Last version I used was 8.04, but i had also older versions before. To upgrade from 8.04, I simply used the update manager from the system menu. I had three upgrades in a row, during the same week-end I migrated to 9.04, then 9.10 and finally 10.04 (without really using them, I just did one boot to see it was ok). Now that I think of it, I am not really sure which of the games were in the original version and which ones I installed using the applications menu. Sorry I cannot be more accurate than that, I had to purge linux versions because I had no place anymore in the / directory. But I am sure I always used the Ubuntu applications menu to install them, I never installed picking packages directly from the internet. Have a nice evening. [Bug 576693] [NEW] Idea_for_screen_rotation
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon I'm very grateful for being able to flip and rotate my screen using the Indicator Applet. For instance, it's nice when showing a screen to someone sitting across from you: Flipping the screen upside down and putting down the physical screen of the notebook is way less hassle than moving the machine. However when leaving the 'upside-down' mode you have to move the pointer opposite of what feels natural and that can be a little tricky the first few times. Therefore I suggest a checkbox that reads 'rotate mouse input' on the dropdown meny you get by leftclicking the screen icon. Rotating the mouse input along with the screen output would make it easier to get back to normal viewing. [Bug 576669] [NEW] Document Viewer has no support for common office document file formats
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evince Working on creating some new checkbox tests and I've discovered that evince, at least as shipped in 10.04 LTS has no support for MS Office formats. I've tried the .xls and .doc files that are shipped in /usr/share/example-content. In both cases, evince opens with an error that says: File type OLE2 compound document storage (application/x-ole-storage) is not supported. For kicks, I then tried .odt files and got this error: File type OpenDocument Text (application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text) is not supported. Nor does it support .rtf documents: File type RTF document (application/rtf) is not supported. Nor does it like ods documents: File type OpenDocument Spreadsheet (application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.spreadsheet) is not supported It DOES open odp documents. at least... I did not have a pdf file on hand to try... BUT, in any case, it does not seem to support ANYTHING right now beyond Open Office Presentation files... Re: [Bug 539396] Re: rhytmbox cannot see my iphone
I think I have found the issue. Has something to do with the ~/.gvfs folder. I deleted this folder, logged out and now its working. perhaps having a real .gvfs folder messes up gvfs (and fuse cant mount ~/.gvfs ) and then rhythmbox cant mount the iphone in there. In anycase this would actually be a bug with gvfs (or fuse) and not rhythmbox? [Bug 528651] Re: [WORKAROUND] Empathy does not import Facebook Chat's Other Friends list into a group
The problem is not what Facebook sends to Empathy, the problem is that Empathy can't create groups for the specific facebook client... [Bug 575876] Re: New added gnome panels get invisible (Mint 9)
I'm using an nVIDEA GeForce 9800 GT. The driver software bug doesn't exist anymore. But the penal bug also happends with a single Monitor. Anyway I've learned to handle it, but it would be nice if its fixed. -- New added gnome panels get invisible (Mint 9) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/575876 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
