[Bug 1132359] [NEW] Gnome system monitor uses lots of processor
Public bug reported: Hello! I thought it might be something normal for a tool to see running applications and other live information about system to use 5-10+ % of processor, but since I recently tried Xubuntu and that script uses almost no resources, I made my mind to report it as a bug. It can either be fixed by changing what makes the default system monitor in Ubuntu consume so much of our processor, or change it from the distribution. It is true, the Xubuntu script is simpler, but the main part is the one showing processor&memory&etc. of the running applications, and that one is just perfect. Just now I installed the KDE tool, ksysguard. And this one consumes 1-2% of processor, compared to 5-15% of gnome-system-monitor. If the Gnome team does not find a fix for this, please to replace it with something that works. Ksysguard is really really good, a lot better. Thank you! I had made the modifications you wrote me (the first modification is because in the past i have modificated "AutoMount=false", while the second is yours): /usr/share/gvfs/mounts/network.mount [Mount] Type=network Exec=/usr/lib/gvfsd-network AutoMount=true /etc/samba/smb.conf name resolve order = lmhosts wins bcast In the following i describe you that it happens. I launch thunar. The first thunar window appear after almost 20 secs and after another 5 secs appear a second thunar window; neither of the two windows don't have the network icon on the left panel (bookmarks of folders, Ctrl+B). If i open another thunar window it also doesn't have the network icon but if i close all thunar windows and then open a new thunar window i have the network icon (if i click on it appear istantly on the main the Windows network icon). In the task manager the thunar -daemon process was present. -- Stek Turku inviata da Xubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/775117 Title: Thunar hangs on first launch of each session To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gvfs/+bug/775117/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1132048] [NEW] Mobile AIM users shown as "Available", need indicator
Public bug reported: AIM users with the mobile status have an indicator in AIM, Pidgin, Trillian, and Kopete. Empathy is the only client that does not have one. Instead users are just shown as Available with no indicator at all. ** Affects: empathy (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1132048 Title: Mobile AIM users shown as "Available", need indicator To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/1132048/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 332348] Re: Display icon indication for mobile/web client/bot/etc IM users
This continued happening in every version of Ubuntu for the past two years, making me switch to Pidgin every single time. Please fix this bug, it is certainly not fixed! Great client otherwise ruined by a small oversight. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/332348 Title: Display icon indication for mobile/web client/bot/etc IM users To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/empathy/+bug/332348/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
