[Bug 1331864] [NEW] [Patch] CRASH when dragging a tab and later changing its title
Public bug reported: Gnome-terminal can crash if a tab is dragged across windows, and later the title of the tab is changed. Since gnome-terminal is one single process for all your terminal windows and tabs, upon a crash all the gnome-terminal windows disappear, easily causing loss of precious unsaved work. To easily reproduce: 1. Open at 2 (or more) gnome-terminal windows, and in one of them 2 (or more) tabs. 2. In one of these tabs, make the title change constantly: while sleep 0.1; do echo -ne "\e]0;$(date +%S)\a"; done 3. Drag and drop this tab (with the changing title) to another gnome- terminal window. (Don't drag it within the same window, that won't make it crash.) Repeat this step multiple times. After a few (usually less than 10) drag-n-drop actions, gnome-terminal crashes. [Bug 1313430] Re: Crashes on Ubuntu 14.04 when trying to connect to iPod
Update: I had to reset my ipod from Windows Itunes. Itunes erased without asking all my music. So I reset the ipod and now it was appearing in ubuntu file manager but it was not mounting. I came across a page suggesting to run: sudo chmod 777 /var/lib/lockdown after doing this, neither Rhythmbox, nor Banshee nor Clementine crash. I can actually access my ipod from Rhythmbos and Banshee and I see the couple of albums I transferred in Itunes. I try to transfer music and it shows me the transfer bar, with number of songs and MB and it finishes but music does not appear on ipod. I can even play the music that I transferred in Rhythmbox (without quitting) but when I quit and then access Ipod again, none of my tracks transferred with Rhythmbox are there. It seems to be a bad problem with iOS itself since I found about the resetting option in help forums for Itunes. It gives crazy behaviour like not transferring art work for albums until you reset your ipod... I feel I am closer to make it work and it was not an Ubuntu thing. Only problem now is that I am not able to transfer music. At least programs are not crashing anymore. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to rhythmbox in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1313430 Title: Crashes on Ubuntu 14.04 when trying to connect to iPod To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/1313430/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1296275] Re: PTP Cameras not working on 14.04, works flawlessly on 12.04
OK, someone said to install ltdl-dev, which then let the configure, make and make install work fine. When I plug my camera in, it still doesn't show. I checked and the rule is not in /lib/udev/rules.d - I thought the package was supposed to install it. Do I need to go back and manually add the udev rule (using "==" instead of "="?) ?? Sorry to be a hassle, but this is one time I desperately need my camera to work today - it's very important (just saying - I know that makes no difference) - and the only PC I have access to is this one running xubuntu. I'm running xubuntu 14.04. Tried adding the deb to sources - fails as not found in apt-get update (used "Trusty"). Tried adding the udev rule - gphoto opens, shows my pictures (it's *REALLY* slow), but then I can't save them, etc., so I removed the rule. Tried downloading the package, "untar"ing it, then went to the INSTALL document to see if I needed to run configure or just make and make install. It shows the command for running configure, and when I do that I get the following failure. . . . didn't copy all of the output prior to this failure . checking ltdl.h usability... no checking ltdl.h presence... no checking for ltdl.h... no checking that we can compile and link with libltdl... no configure: error: cannot compile and link against libltdl libgphoto2 requires libltdl (the libtool dl* library), but cannot compile and link against it. [Bug 1330595] Re: Press any key in a open map closes map
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). +1 to this bug being a high. Adding more features while bugs like this exist is why Linux continues to be barely usable as a desktop environment.
