[Bug 1812968] [NEW] PC does not turn on the problem with the disk.
Public bug reported: 1. Turn on the PC. 2. I expect the inclusion and loading of the desktop. 3. The computer freezes, the screen turns off, the disk is not activated. To turn on the computer, you must select recovery mode, or an earlier kernel. In this case, there is a delay when you start a certain disk. When booting with an early kernel, the screen resolution becomes low, with no choice. attachment:dmesg, journalctl, lspci ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 Package: evince 3.28.4-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.15.0-43.46-generic 4.15.18 Uname: Linux 4.15.0-43-generic i686 ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.5 Architecture: i386 CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Wed Jan 23 13:38:40 2019 InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-05-06 (262 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04.5 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release i386 (20140807) SourcePackage: evince UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: evince (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug bionic i386 ** Attachment added: "log.zip" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1812968/+attachment/5231621/+files/log.zip -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1812968 Title: PC does not turn on the problem with the disk. [Bug 1769383] Re: Ubuntu dock/launcher is shown on the lock screen
Yes, I have restarted my system, in fact several times before writing here. Note that I have a fresh Ubuntu 18.10 system - installed few days ago, with all settings on default. Have not tweaked anything, using everything as it was packaged. Added only few gnome-shell-extensions, which should not be a problem ideally: * Dash to dock * Kstatusnotifieritem/appindicator support * Topicons plus (disabled) * Ubuntu dock * Window is ready - notification remover I also disabled automatic screen lock, so the system runs normally when I need it. [Bug 1812885] Re: Rename shell script on desktop, nautilus keeps trying to execute it under its old name
The issue persists in a slightly different form with .desktop files: 1. Create a .desktop file on the desktop. 2. Right click on it and give it permission to launch. 3. Double-click on it and confirm that it launches. 4. Mv it to a new name in a terminal window. 5. Observe how it remains displayed as an app icon rather than switching to a text file. 6. Further observe that when you right-click on it, there is a "Don't Allow Launching" menu command available. 6. Double-click on it and observe that instead of launching, it opens in gedit. Either (a) double-clicking on the renamed .desktop file should cause the app to launch, or (b) the icon should change to a text-file icon and the menu item should change to "Allow Launching" when the file is renamed. The current behavior, however, is an incorrect combination of those two possible correct behaviors. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1812885 Title: Rename shell script on desktop, nautilus keeps trying to execute it under its old name To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons/+bug/1812885/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1795721] Re: Newly mounted drive icons jumbled with Desktop icons.
** Description changed: The icons for newly mounted [flash] drives automatically appear directly on top of existing desktop icons even if the the "Keep aligned" context menu has previously been selected. It can easily be corrected by selecting "Organize Desktop by Name" from the context menu, but past versions of Ubuntu have usually accomplished this automatically upon flash drive mounting without the need for doing it manually. I will attach a screenshot where you can see the icons mixed together. It appears to affect only flash drives and only the first one that is inserted, as additional drives that are added appear automatically organized on the Desktop. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the size of the flash drive or not because my 2GB drive would not appear on - the Desktop (or anywhere else for that matter) at all... + the Desktop (or anywhere else for that matter) at all. *UPDATE* My 2GB + flash drive was not formatted, that is why it was not read at all. [Bug 1769383] Re: Ubuntu dock/launcher is shown on the lock screen
I wanted to chime in to report that the released bionic fix ( gnome- shell-extension-ubuntu-dock_0.9.1ubuntu18.04.3_all.deb ) has indeed seemed to correct this issue on my system. I am running the stock Ubuntu dock variant and not the dash-to-dock extension version, which is what I suspect may be a continued cause of problems for others are still having the issue. Within the last two or so weeks the issue was inexplicably occurring with such a high prevalence that I thought I was going to have to switch to a new desktop environment. I had the password prompt on the shutter screen disabled, and in that case once the dock appeared above the shutter the only way to regain control of the system was to drop to a shell and run "killall -HUP gnome-shell." Thankfully, disabling transparency effects for the dock did remedy the issue. I re-enabled transparency with the patch and things seem to be working fine. I have only had to restart Gnome once because of an incident where the shutter would not raise correctly, but the dock was not visible so I cannot say if it is related to this or just a one-off fluke. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1769383 Title: Ubuntu dock/launcher is shown on the lock screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1769383/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
