Hi Steve, I am a bit confused here. What do you mean by "What kind of testing is this going to go through between now and release?" If you mean how wslu is going to be tested with tests between now and release, this can be only done locally on a WSL environment by running `make test`; If you mean how wslu is going to be tested, it is being tested on the PPA: https://launchpad.net/~callmepk/+archive/ubuntu/wslu-dev -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to wslu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1895525 Title: [FreezeExpcetionRequest] wslu 2.3.6 to 3.2.1 Status in wslu package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: This is a freeze exception request; 1. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1880649] Re: wslusc creates bogus .lnk file that tries to run spotify
Thank you for the report. >From the look of it, it is a badly generated ~/.config/wslu/exec/baseexec. Right now we have a fix to solve this problem, but only available for Ubuntu 20.04 LTS for now. It will be available to bionic (and also xenial) very soon. For now, you can edit thi file manually to `/mnt/c/Users//AppData/Local/Microsoft/WindowsApps/CanonicalGroupLimited.Ubuntu18.04onWindows_79rhkp1fndgsc/ubuntu1804.exe` for "Ubuntu 18.04 LTS" or `/mnt/c/Users//AppData/Local/Microsoft/WindowsApps/CanonicalGroupLimited.UbuntuonWindows_79rhkp1fndgsc/ubuntu.exe` for "Ubuntu". [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1877016] Re: ubuntu-wsl / wslu : needs /mnt/c/windows/system32/ in PATH env variable
Hi Rafael, can you still preproduce the issue of "/usr/bin/wslsys: line 1xx: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied"? Further testing with your environment is not helping. Just trying to confirm the `permission denied` part, `command not found` is confirmed to be a part of the bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to wslu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1877016 Title: ubuntu-wsl / wslu : needs /mnt/c/windows/system32/ in PATH env variable Status in wslu package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in wslu source package in Xenial: Confirmed Status in wslu source package in Bionic: Confirmed Status in wslu source package in Focal: Confirmed Status in wslu source package in Groovy: Confirmed Bug description: ubuntu-wsl / wslu : needs /mnt/c/windows/system32/ in PATH env variable $ wslfetch /usr/bin/wslfetch: line 108: reg.exe: command not found /usr/bin/wslsys: line 108: reg.exe: command not found /usr/bin/wslsys: line 183: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied /usr/bin/wslsys: line 185: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied /usr/bin/wslsys: line 187: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied /usr/bin/wslsys: line 189: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied /usr/bin/wslsys: line 108: reg.exe: command not found /usr/bin/wslsys: line 183: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied /usr/bin/wslsys: line 185: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied /usr/bin/wslsys: line 187: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied /usr/bin/wslsys: line 189: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied /usr/bin/wslsys: line 108: reg.exe: command not found /usr/bin/wslsys: line 183: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied /usr/bin/wslsys: line 185: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied /usr/bin/wslsys: line 187: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied /usr/bin/wslsys: line 189: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied /usr/bin/wslsys: line 108: reg.exe: command not found /usr/bin/wslsys: line 183: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied /usr/bin/wslsys: line 185: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied /usr/bin/wslsys: line 187: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied /usr/bin/wslsys: line 189: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied /usr/bin/wslsys: line 108: reg.exe: command not found /usr/bin/wslsys: line 183: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied /usr/bin/wslsys: line 185: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied /usr/bin/wslsys: line 187: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied /usr/bin/wslsys: line 189: /mnt/c/Windows/System32/reg.exe: Permission denied ./+o+- Windows 10 Linux Subsystem y. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1871986] [NEW] Wslusc shortcut not working
Public bug reported: Upstream bug reported: https://github.com/wslutilities/wslu/issues/110 **Background Information:** WSL: Ubuntu 18.04 Version: 2.3.2-0ubuntu2~18.04.3 When creating a Win shortcut for a GUI Linux program I end up with a shortcut that is not working. **To Reproduce** wslusc --gui pycharm.sh This results in a shortcut with the following target: C:\Windows\System32\wscript.exe C:\Users\Marco Brieden\wslu\runHidden.vbs C:\Users\Marco Brieden\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WindowsApps\CanonicalGroupLimited.Ubuntu18.04onWindows_79rhkp1fndgsc\ubuntu1804.exe run "cd ~; . /usr/share/wslu/wsl-integration When opened it gives this error: "There is no file extension in "C:\Users\Marco" **Additional context** It looks like there are two separate issues: 1. The space in my username breaks the shortcut. 2. The max length of the "target" field has been exceeded and the command got cut off. ** Affects: wslu Importance: Critical Status: Unknown ** Affects: wslu (Ubuntu) Importance: Critical Assignee: Patrick Wu (callmepk) Status: In Progress ** Changed in: wslu (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Critical ** Changed in: wslu (Ubuntu) Status: New => In Progress ** Bug watch added: github.com/wslutilities/wslu/issues #110 https://github.com/wslutilities/wslu/issues/110 ** Also affects: wslu via https://github.com/wslutilities/wslu/issues/110 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Changed in: wslu Importance: Unknown => Critical ** Changed in: wslu (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Patrick Wu (callmepk) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to wslu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1871986 Title: Wslusc shortcut not working Status in wslu: Unknown Status in wslu package in Ubuntu: In Progress Bug description: Upstream bug reported: https://github.com/wslutilities/wslu/issues/110 **Background Information:** WSL: Ubuntu 18.04 Version: 2.3.2-0ubuntu2~18.04.3 When creating a Win shortcut for a GUI Linux program I end up with a shortcut that is not working.
