RE: [development-axapta] data import From an olderversion of Axapta to New version
You can import old 2.5 data into 3.0, if you only have the DAT Company. If you have created several companies then the import fails. We did that on purpose!!! hi On second thoughts... It will be better if you could change your look up form on the item id to the format of the look up form on the field warehouse (on salesline). So the new lookup with have two tabs. On first tab show itemgroup and on second tab show related items. this will make things easier. regards harry -Original Message-From: kamtt [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]Sent: Tuesday, April 27, 2004 7:18 PMTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Subject: [development-axapta] Customised FilteringHello,I am new for Axapta and I have encounter below problem. In Sales Line of Sales Order, I would like to select an ItemGroup first and then it will automatically filter and shows for Item Numbers which are only related to selected ItemGroup.I don't want to jump to Item Number and filter using standard. You have to assign a Windows-Logon to the axapta-user (this is done in the user options). Then do not use the -User -Option. RE: [development-axapta] Customised Filtering
Hi For this u must have created a data field for itemgroup in the salesline form. you can anytime override the lookup method of the itemid field in SalesLine datasource to control the way look up behaves. All you have to do is use sysTableLookup Class. Refer Axapta's help for this. If you still face problem then let me know. [development-axapta] what is OCR Line ?
Hi Guys, Can anyone tell me what's an OCRLine. During the posting of the purchase invoice, we find this field in the Setup tab of the form. Hi Girish In a lot of European countries you can attach a payment card to an invoice. This payment card has an identification line allowing the bank to know where the money should be channelled. The OCR line is: Optical character recognition, usually abbreviated to OCR, involves computer systems designed to translate images of typewritten text (usually captured by a scanner) into machine-editable text--to translate pictures of characters into a standard encoding scheme representing them (ASCII or Unicode). RE: [development-axapta] what is OCR Line ?
Yes I had the same thing with my customer using it as a way to recordAirway bill number.I took the check out of the settlement as I couldnt find any where else the field was used and my customer will probably never us it they way it was intended. -Original Message-From: Girish Bhatkal [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]Sent: Wednesday, April 28, 2004 6:59 PMTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Subject: RE: [development-axapta] what is OCR Line ? Yes James, you are are right. if we include records in this OCR Line field then it will give an error during settlement of the records , when multple lines are selected (and if each line has different data entered). Our client were gettting the errors during settlement and i found that it is to do with OCR Line and hence wanted to understand what it is. our client used this field as an Text field, for reference. regards, Girish -Original Message-From: James Flavell [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]Sent: 28 April 2004 09:43To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]Subject: RE: [development-axapta] what is OCR Line ?Following on abit from Mai-Britt's replyThis field I BELIEVE (but I have never used it) works something like this inAxapta:During invoice update is set according to details provided by supplier(usually diff per invoice I am not sure or fairly static for all of avendor's invoicing???).When you generate payment the system will include this info so thatrecieving by supplier/bank can be directed accordingly.Mai-Britt can you explain whether the OCRLine value is allows the recievingend to settle against their original invoice or is it only for directingwhere the payment goes? I guess this also would answer whether the OCRLinevalue changes or is fairly static per vendor.I do know from experience that if you fill this field in then duringsettlement you cannot settle several transactions with different OCRLinevalues using one journal line (i.e. the transactions selected for settlementof a journal line must all have the same OCRLine value). This of coursemakes sense according to what Mai-Britt has stated.Apart from the PO invoice update screen and settlement checking where elseis this field used in functionality? I never came across an export formator report that shows it and was wondering if need to do own modifications tomake use of itHope thats gives help...James-Original Message-From: Girish Bhatkal [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]Sent: Wednesday, April 28, 2004 6:14 PMTo: Axapta developersSubject: [development-axapta] what is OCR Line ?Hi Guys, Can anyone tell me what's an OCRLine. RE: [development-axapta] Customised Filtering
Hi Harry First thing i m not suggesting that Kamtt should create another field for itemgroup, but from the statement of Kamtt it looks like that they are already using ItemGroup field in SalesLine table.Ifcreation of new field is a problem then might be he cancreate a new datasourcefor ItemGroup and then use sysTableLookTable class. but i won't suggest creation of new forms only for look until and unless it cannot be done another way. This is what my personal experience says. What ur opinion. Regards Amit "Deshpande, Harry" [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: hi Amit! Interesting! The problem with what you are proposing is ... One can also create just an extended data type field on the saleTable form (in the sales line grid). However, this means..if i specify an item group and go to second line to specify a different item group the first item group changes. This will create confusion for the viewer. Hi, i was looking at the ageing report and found that this report does not include all the records specified in the selected period. I compared this report with the Customer transaction report (running for a specific transaction period) and found a few records missing.
