Read the upgrade instructions I wrote: http://dx4win.ad1c.us/appnotes/upgrade.htm where I wrote, "Here are my personal notes on upgrading. I will state one very important thing up-front." When you merge your preferences, one of those preferences is the log file to open. If you copy your log to the new SAVE directory, you must navigate to teh new SAVE directory and open that one. I had ready for printing some swl lables in my previous log (707). There are not in current log (801). I followed the procedure for upgrading. I was sure that 801 read the 801 copied file when i first opened the 801. It happened in my laptop first and i double checked my movements and was very careful in my shack pc the second time. But it happened agn. Maybe an operator mistake. Maybe a strange bug. It has not logic to me but it happened agn. After all I made a save us in the new version and no problem then. [Dx4win] SWL Labels
Might the mode in your log/actually worked be PSK31, MFSK or some other digital mode that the ARRL counts as RTTY? That would surely explain it. If you upload your log to LOTW, those digital QSOs are counted as RTTY for DXCC credit. 73, Joe WD?M At 06:59 PM 7/22/2004, ARS NZ3O (Byron) FM29fx wrote: >I received several responses to my note regarding >the use of the Print SWL Labels capability in DX4WIN. > >Some instructed me on how to use it. I received several responses to my note regarding the use of the Print SWL Labels capability in DX4WIN. Some instructed me on how to use it. Thanks, but I didn't find anything wrong with what I was doing. But I really do appreciate the effort to help. Others asked what I was trying to accomplish. Let me describe again what is happening: I have never operated RTTY. And when I attempt to "Print SWL Labels" about two dozen labels show up in Preview, but randomly they have their MODE set to RTTY. When I check the logbook for that date and time (no callsign shown other than the SWL) there are QSO's but the mode isn't RTTY. So, I'm trying to locate the SWL entries so I can correct the MODE and print the labels. Oh, and make sure everything else on the label is correct. 73, Byron

I have run into another problem with label printing. I have marked 309 SWL labels for printing. Abt 1/3 of them is with my old call - ES5RTV. I seem to find no way of differentiating between the two calls when printing. The SWL labels are not affected by the Selection or the Filter or import/export or anything. Whatever I do it still shows me 309 labels. So I have no way of knowing which are with which calls and I can not set the signature text in Preferences - Lab for the right call. [Dx4win] SWL labels
I got a couple of SWL cards via the buro recently. I marked a QSO for SWL confirmation (via control-F2) and entered the SWL number. When I print (preview, actually) the label, I don't see the Callsign listed on the label. On the label, I see "SWL: NL 12345 R89" (the SWL number that I entered), and then the regular contact information, but the call of the other station in the QSO (i.e., the one that I worked) isn't shown anywhere on the label. My two questions are: A) Should the other station's callsign be on the label, and B) if so, how do I get it there (other than resorting to using a pen!) Thanks 73, David - K2DBK
