Assistant Professor of Biology at Northern State University, Aberdeen, South Dakota Position: Full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Biology, Ecology or a related field from an accredited institution is required. ABD with a definite completion date will be considered. Interest and/or background in land or/water management is preferred. Evidence of interdisciplinary work also preferred. Successful candidate must demonstrate exceptional competence in teaching and have strong communication skills. Responsibilities: Develop and teach undergraduate courses (12 credits per semester) in invertebrate and vertebrate biology, conservation-related courses, other classes related to the expertise of the applicant and department needs, and other duties as assigned, such as teaching First Year Seminar. The applicant will be expected to be actively involved in student recruitment and contribute to curriculum development in their area of expertise. We seek an Assistant Professor of Biology to join our rapidly growing Zoo and Wildlife Biology and Environmental Science programs. Assistant Professor, tenure-track position, starting fall 2017. Microbiologist. Candidate must be broadly trained in biology and have a Ph.D. in the biological sciences. Post doctoral research and/or teaching experience strongly preferred. Successful candidate will be committed to teaching undergraduates and to developing a research program that involves undergraduates. The teaching load is 9 contact hours per semester. Teaching duties include an upper division microbiology course with laboratory and a sophomore level cell biology course. A research lab and initial startup funds will be provided. Preference will be given to candidates with research expertise in a field related to the biology of microorganisms. The Department of Biological Sciences at Bridgewater State University seeks a wildlife ecologist with focus on vertebrates. Candidate must be strongly committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching, academic advising, and developing a program of independent research that has a substantial field-based component and includes mentoring original undergraduate research.
