[Elecraft] Elecraft CW Net Report

2022-03-27 Thread kevin

Good Evening,

Both bands were unsettled.  There was more QSB on twenty meters
while forty meters had more noise.  It grew worse as time passed.
Signals were not strong on either band.  When I scanned twenty meters
around 9 AM I only found two signals.  The rest was a variety of noises
and lots of static.  The sun was up to something.

Lots of brush thinning and tree trimming news.  Here I have lots of
clean up left from the winter's storms.  A few days ago the county
cleaned up and bladed the gravel road past the house. There are now
paths between the downed limbs.  Good thing the fungus is so ravenous or
the fallen branches would build up.  As it is they last three or four
years before they become soil.

[Elecraft] OT FS: Mosley Mini-32-AW HF Yagi - New In Box

2022-03-27 Thread James Bennett via Elecraft
I’m selling a brand new, never out of the box Mosley Mini-32-AW two element
yagi. The antenna covers 20-17-15-12-10 meters. It is a two element yagi on
20-15-10 and a rotatable dipole on 17 and 12 meters. Boom length is 6 feet.
Longest element is 19.7 feet. Weight is only 12.5 pounds.

I ordered this antenna prior to making a decision to move to Idaho last autumn.
Once paid for, that was it - no refund, no exchange, so I had to accept it.
Thought maybe I’d have a home here in the Boise area where I could put it up
but unfortunately my XYL talked me into buying a new home in an area with
strict CC regs against any outdoor antenna. I wound up with a ZeroFive 30’
Flagpole Vertical that works very well.

Anyway, I need to sell this nice Mosley yagi. As I mentioned, it has never been
taken out of the box. It comes with the original manual, the Mosley
registration card, and my sales receipt. My cost was just over $600. If you
order a new one, you’ll have a manufacturing wait time of three months or more,
and the prices have gone up.

I’ll sell this one to you for $525, shipped at my expense. If you prefer to
pick it up in person I’ll knock $25 off the price.

PayPal or cash, please. Contact me at: k7...@arrl.net

Re: [Elecraft] K2 help with S Meter Cal.

2022-03-27 Thread Don Wilhelm

Pete,

If you turn the RF Gain down gradually, do you get a progression of LEDs
to light one at a time?
If so turn the RF Gain fully clockwise and then adjust Control Board R1
to obtain 6 volts at CB U2 pin 5.

After that, adjust CAL S Low and CAL S Hi.
If your K2 SN is lower than 3000, R1 is  FIXED RESISTOR.

Hello,

My K2, which I purchased mostly built, had some issues which I appear to have
repaired.

However in starting the alignments with AGC and S-Meter, I find an issue which
just began where I cannot get a single barograph segment to light.
In DOT bargraph mode in S CAL LO I cannot get just 1 segment to light. It jumps
from nothing to 4 segments.
This just began as I have adjusted the S meter previously.

Does anyone have an idea what is causing this? I’d appreciate any suggestions.

BTW - Voltage and Current draws are correct. 13.8V and 220ma in Receive mode.

[Elecraft] K3 Mini - Loss of bias - side mic jack

2022-03-27 Thread Frank VO1HP
It appears I have lost the bias supply going to the side Mic jack on my K3
Mini. There is no bias voltage on the tip of a test cable. However there
is 4.7-4.8 volts appearing on pin 6 of the 8 pin front panel mic connector.

I note that turning on the Mini from a cold start I see 3.8vdc on the tip
of the test cable but it only lasts for a few seconds and very quickly
decays to zero.

The Menu setting rP.L bIAS is configured and turning the bias off/on by
tapping 2 does not effect the volatge 4.7 on pin 6 . It is always on.

What do I do.? I am not thrilled about taking the Mini apart as I have
ZERO technical information about how to dissaasemble it. Nor do I have a
schematic to help ID where the fault may be.

I have an outboard bias box that came with my CM500 so I guess I can use
that in a pinch.

Any comments?

I will have another item coming up later this afternoon - a Mosley 2-el HF yagi
