I always say, anyone who says they hate cats hasn't had the pleasure of
being owned by a cat!

To quote MC, "hee hee hee". I have a good feeling about Tobbie's
special needs diminishing when he's adjusted to living in a home with
great care and less stress being directed at him. It must have been
hellish living with an old lady with diminishing faculties. I placed
this wonderful older Tuxedo cat, (with my understanding sister, God
bless her), that had been trying his damnedest to take care of an
elderly mom with dementia. You should see the way he's begun to
thrive! He looks 5 years younger and he's so happy! Have a talk with
Coebeio, before you bring Tobbie home. Get her on board with helping to
care for him. I'm sure you'll figure out what's best for everyone
concerned.

Oh, and I know the 'eyes averted' thing doesn't work. I can't bring
myself to really do it anyway!

Is he a good candidate for adoption? What are his "special needs"? I'm sure you know there are breed rescues for every type of dog. Could you get him into an adoption program through local rescues? They usually have no problem accepting another dog, as long as you are willing to foster. I've even heard of rescues that specialize in finding homes for animals displaced because of their former owner's age or death. Thanks Tamara,I know I'm not alone, and I know there are many, many of us that get overwhelmed. I agree with everything you've said and I appreciate your taking the time to reply. I'm feeling better today. That's how it goes, life is cyclical. It's important to continue spiraling up and out, (not just get stuck in a tight circle :) !). Funny you should mention the fact that we usually ask to serve. I remember the day that I made that conscious prayer, to be shown 'how to serve'. When I told a friend of mine, she said, now you've done it! Look out, when you ask, it WILL be answered!Much love to you Tamara,Ninatamara stickler wrote:> Nina,> > Its "funny"...I have several special needs animals and this question > pops up on each of the lists from time to time.> > You are right, it does seem
