How about this: gather the addresses of the possible participants, manipulate the first card, play with the deck and then send the whole deck to the next player/artist. He/she will then have 1 week to manipulate the second card and play with the deck. Then send it on, etc. etc. You might also start writing rules that can be written on by every plartist. People can join in all year long, or even longer, or receive and send the deck on several times, as the same cards could be manipulated more than once... - -I send out one card from a deck to each of 51 participants. FLUXLIST: New subscription process not nice
Do you think that a voice was lost? For all who miss discussions featuring Kandinskij and Joseph Franklyn McElroy at the same time - don't be sad, as you may still enjoy them (for example) here: http://www.o-o.lt/asco-o/---/02.11.25-10.31.06.html And here: http://amsterdam.nettime.org/Lists-Archives/nettime-l-0208/msg00114.html And here as well: http://mail.ljudmila.org/pipermail/7-11/2002-August/author.html#3658 Have fun georg -- Georg Birkner Dipl. I agree and I'm in! thank you crispin. we could always just start by setting a number for the edition 5O LIKE THE last one. SO we could all make 5o of something and send it to CRISPIN WEBB 4 west chestnut apt # 5 mount vernon ohio 43050 just keep it small to or whatever Send your adress and name 5 $ for shipping and this could be well on its way within a short time We could set a deadline for entry for feb 8th one month from now How about defining the minimum-size and maximum-size of the box and then letting everybody send their 50 somethings and 5$ within a self-chosen box to crispin. In the end, theoretically, there should be 49 boxes of a certain size arriving there, with 50 somethings in each of them. There, one only would have to redistribute the somethings into the boxes and the boxes themselves and send them out again. Apart of that: Cigar Boxes are nice! (3 points) Paint Can, also very nice (2 points) Candy tins 50 or more free but small Cigar boxes 1$ per box VIDEO tape boxes cheep REEL CANS more expensive limited quanity on my end I heard PAINT CAN , globe, cd case, -- Georg Birkner Dipl. That's amazing! never, never prior to this praised day, so many people have replied to a mail of mine! thank you - especially to m'lore. In fact, now i remember! my mother's second husband used to buy them in france... 2. We'll kick out any obnoxious drunks or troublemakers. Who's we? When does someone start to make trouble? Is Ann Klefstad still allowed of writing If Eric and IPUT had ever contributed anything that wasn't a snotty putdown, colored by arch pissy self-interest(...) or You smell of old belgian undershorts, and your mother used to hide your shoes to see you cry.? There's probably no place where the air is as fresh as in Celebration (http://www.celebration-florida-celebration-usa.com/). But is it really fun to live there? This fluxlistbox is a very nice idea! constructive ideas seem to produce constructive mails amass. that's what keeps the list worth reading - thank you (already forgotten who brought this up in the first place. Probably because authorship is not that important, if an idea is really good). Happy new year! georg -- Georg Birkner Dipl. Arch. FLUXLIST: Re: FLUXLIST-digest V3 #350
dear AK, Eric, josh, gabriel and Carol Thanks for your infos. in fact, back when i was asking the community for contributions for my work on jose luis de la pena, ken friedman was the only one to send me anything (it was a very serious (in fact very, very serious) and detailed and sincere letter. josh - if i ever come to texas (which is rather improbable) i will bring along a copy of this letter and some swiss glue to paste it somewhere into your booklet). georg -- Georg Birkner Dipl. Ken Friedman is an informative, helpful writer and a wonderful correspondant and I feel honored to have been in contact with him. And even when I disagree with his views, I do so with respect. The amount of informative substance on Fluxlist has dramatically dropped since he left. I have collected many of his essays that he has posted on this list (and elsewhere on the net) into a little booklet Ken Friedman on Fluxus which exists in a very limited edition of 1 (if you're ever in Texas, stop by and borrow it!). Maybe before the end of the year I will make a list of links to his essays for those who did not see them when first posted. - -Josh Ronsen in Austin, Texas
FLUXLIST: Re: easy reading materials
josh i still have this really interesting material about the completely forgotten cuban fluxus artist Jose Luis de la Pena (by the way grand-son of Virgilio Narcisso Diaz de la Pena). i would have to translate some parts from german, though... how many pages do you need? georg sorry, ken, i HAVE to do this - if only for the sake of old times... -- Georg Birkner Dipl. Too much listing etc. are there any fluxus books a slow reader would enjoy? I am working on a FLUXUS FOR DUMMIES book. Lots of pictures and diagrams, no big words, few names (and none of the difficult to pronounce ones), easy-to-follow instructions (think of dance steps with the black and white footprints)... Feel free to submit a chapter or sidebar. I've still got about 200 pages to go. It would be great to get some material written by people who know very little about Fluxus (the ol' blind leading the blind effect). - -Josh Ronsen in Austin, Texas
