Re: [Audyssey] Golf and Simon

2007-01-15 Thread Jim Kitchen
Hi Ken,

The cartoon sounds in Simon started out as large mp3 files that I got from the
NewsGroup alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.sound-effects
Most if not all of them are also on the Hanna Barbera cd that I purchased which
I'm sure is where the person got them from that sent them to the NewsGroup.

i do think that's cool. i do have a suggestion for that though. how about
you can have a set of files in directories? so you could have a directory
called presets and custom and in custom you check for the files in there?
yes i would agree that 28 sets is rather a lot but it would be cool if users
could write multiple sets of their own. if you don't want to, that's your
ultimate decision at the end of the day, i'm not complaining i think you've

Re: [Audyssey] Golf and Simon

2007-01-15 Thread Jim Kitchen
Hi Aaron,

I will think about it. Like for Monopoly where you name the files
MonopolyBoardDoctorWho.txt you will need to name the files
SimonCustomDoctorWho1.wav SimonCustomDoctorWho2.wav, SimonCustomDoctorWho3.wav
etc. However since the 26 sets of (234) sound files that I recorded / cut /
edited already take up the alpha bit the custom ones will not be able to be put
in a hyper text menu system. But in the mean time if you get board with the
sound files that you put in as simon21.wav simon22.wav, simon23.wav,
simon24.wav, simon25.wav, simon26.wav, simon27.wav, simon28.wav and simon29.wav
you can always swap them out for new ones.

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay you to do it?

but you made it in the trivia game so you use up and down arrows, and make
your own trivia sets. can't you do the same with simon?
title=doctor who sounds
so you use up and down arrows and then it says: doctor who sounds.
you would then go assigning sounds to numbers.
sound4key1=simon21.wav
sound4key2=simon22.wav
sound4key3=simon23.wav
etc etc etc
and you can then go on with other sets, using simon 30, simon 31

Hi Damien,

Actually I have used Jaws and nothing but Jaws since Jaws for dos version 1. I
probably should have said that I do not want to support instead of saying
promote the windows text version of Trucker. Putting text on the screen just
didn't work out so good for me and windows games. Truthfully though I like
many of the sapi5 voices better than the Eloquence ones especially the female
ones. Plus one can do so much more when programming with sapi5 rather than
trying to get a screen reader to read text on the screen in windows.

Hi Aaron,

I am sorry, but you can not do that. I only wrote the Simon game to look for
your one personal set of wav files. So sapi will always only say 1. your sound
files

- Original Message -
but, how can i make my own sound sets? yes, it says add your own wave files.
what about sapi? it announces what they are ment to be. i don't see how
adding wave files can make sapi make a new set. like, i want my set to be
doctor who sounds. how can i make sapi say, "2. doctor who sounds."

I have one that works with Jim's text to speech games. I turn my screen
reader, JAWS8, off before playing any of those. Isn't that considered a
self voicing game? It is in the same folder as his Yahtzee, Monopoly,
football, trivia, casino, and other such games reside.

2007-01-12 Thread Jim Kitchen
Hi Josh,

Mostly the cheats were being able to use your driver to hit your ball out of a
sand trap. That and being able to use your other woods in the sand trap or
after you put your ball into the water and stuff like that. I am pretty sure
that no one can now use their driver or wood club when it is not appropriate to
do so.

Re: [Audyssey] Golf and Simon

2007-01-12 Thread Jim Kitchen
Hi Dark,

I'm not sure. I did spend allot of time coming up with the 26 sets of sound
files for the Simon game. Not sure when I might be up to doing more for it.
Adult files seem to be a theme for the requests. Just need some female
volunteers.

Truthfully I haven't changed the golf game much after the create your own
courses part. That sure has been fun to collect and play the courses that
others have created and shared.

Thanks for saying that you are enjoying the games.

Hi Mark,

Thank you. So glad to hear that you are enjoying the golf game so much and
enjoying besting your friend at it. I really need to get on line and play
against others. Just hate when I get beaten so badly at my own game.

Thanks again and BFN

If you can't beat them, arrange to have them beaten.

Re: [Audyssey] Golf and Simon

2007-01-12 Thread Dark
Indeede, fantastic job with both games, deffinately the most fun version of
Simon out there thus far (I love the simpson's sounds), will there be extra
sound sets for it in the future?

As to golf, great job, I'm particularly pleased you included a repeat last
shot key, sinse this is something I kept forgetting.

It's quite odd, I'm not particularly a sports fan, but I very much enjoy the
Golf game, and didn't find it difficult to wrap my brain around the game
rules.

I'll be looking forward to whatever the Kitchen serves next ;D.

Beware the Grue!

Dark.

Jim your golf game was great but now it's absolutely fantastic. I've been
beating the hide off of a good Scottish friend and we are both blown away by
