[Gimp-user] Moving a rectangle to clone
I am using Gimp 2.8.14 in Mageia 5. I am using the rectangle clone tool to select an area in a photograph (.xcf file). I then use the move tool to place it in an area I want to overwrite. This is the procedure outlined in the manual. http://docs.gimp.org/2.8/en/gimp-using-selections.html. This is a procedure I have used many times. Suddenly it does not work. The move tool does not move my selection. It moves the whole image and the rectangle does not move. I would really like to get this to work. The paintbrush does not do a good job when a large area needs to be changed. Help greatly appreciated for a non tech type. [Gimp-user] Background color
I have an oval photo here: http://knottsislandonline.com/kiscrapbook/miller.html I am trying to get the white background changed to yellow to match the web page. I have followed the instructions in the GIMP manual for bucket fill, Foreground Select Tool, editfill with fg or bg color. Nothing works. The only color I can get is black when the fg/bg option is black. In the toolbox I have changed both fg and bg to yellow. Still no change. I would like to change a new canvas to the yellow bg color and then copy and paste my image onto it. How can I do this? Thanks, Gary ___ gimp-user-list mailing list gimp-user-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list

[Gimp-user] Transform Tools rotate
Gimp 2.8.0. Mageia2. When using the rotate option in transform tools a very annoying grid pops up. This has never occurred before. It appears to be useless as it rotates with the image. How can I remove it? Thanks, Gary ___ gimp-user-list mailing list gimp-user-list@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list
