Setting color for new messages:

1. Use Alt with F followed by Alt with T to go into options.

2. Use down arrow key to the Mail options.

3. Use Alt+F for Stationary and fonts.

4. Click or use spacebar on Stationary and Fonts.

5. When the Signatures and Stationary dialog appears tab to the first
font button and click it or use spacebar. (. It is for when you create new
messages).

6. Tab to the list of colors and use arrow keys to make your choice.
You can also use down arrow until you find the More Colors choice and press
spacebar. If you tab
through the resulting dialog box you will find values for red, green and
blue. If you make note of these
values you can use the
same values for forwarding and replying to messages.

7. Use the OK button out of dialog boxes.

Setting color for when forwarding or replying to messages

1. Use Alt with F followed by Alt with T to go into options.

2. Use down arrow key to the Mail options.

3. Use Alt+F for Stationary and fonts.

4. Tab to the Pick a new color when replying or forwarding checkbox
and if it is checked use spacebar to remove the checkmark.

6. Tab to the list of colors and use the down arrow key to make your
choice. You can also use down arrow key until the more colors button is

By doing so you can check the RGB value for your choice to see how it
matches with the RGB value for new messages.

7. Use the OK button to close all the open dialog boxes.

I am still trying to tweak Outlook 2010 with JAWS 14 and Win. 7.

My original text is in black and my replies are in blue.

On the tab under tools and mail, there are 3 places where the font can be
adjusted, but I cannot figure out which one is wrong and where to make it
right. These adjustments are impossible to set correctly anyway.

Does anybody know how I can fix this problem, since I need black text at all
times. This should be the default. Have no idea how I ever came up with
the blue.

Thanks for all help.

Strange, my 16.1 seems to open the script manager fine.

I will say so far, this seems like the snappiest version I've used probably

Re: [JAWS-Users] increase wifi strength

2014-09-11 Thread Steve

You have two options, well three:

1. Move the router to a more centrally located spot, if possible.

2. If your router has an external antenna, try replacing it with one that
is directional and has higher gain. Unfortunately, some routers have
internal antennas and you can't do this.

3. Buy a wifi repeater, or you can use an old router as a repeater if
you're technically inclined. If not, look for a wifi repeater on Amazon,
Best Buy, etc. You can probably get one for $30 or so.

Take my advice, I don't use it anyway.

Re: [JAWS-Users] increase wifi strength

2014-09-11 Thread Trish
I didn't know that is what those devices are called, but my son had to purchase
a wireless device when he lived with me recently to get more stable wifi in my
town home and it's single story.
But what really did the trick better was one thing, a netgear router, and I was
told that if wifi has to go through a kitchen it will have problems or if a
kitchen is nearby.
Then in July, I was trying to use my iPad in my living room 30 feet from modem
and kitchen is in the middle, this is a wireless modem btw.
So I called my cable service and I dunno, she said the channel frequency was at
8 and bumped it up to 11 because stating the IOS devices needing a different
strength.
Well amazingly enough, it has really made all teh difference, I can go anywhere
and have wifi.

I have tried its Convenient OCR on pdf's. the results were gratifying
and quick in small documents, which had to be put through an OCR program

One issue that I have noticed is with Eloquence, which is sometimes cut

[JAWS-Users] JAWS 15 and Access 2010 Databases Not Reading Button Labels

2014-09-11 Thread David Goldfield
I realize that the issue with Microsoft access and screen readers is a complex
topic. Here's the situation.
I have a user who used JAWS 14 with a customized database using Access 2010 and
things seemed to read well with no problem. The database opened with a main
menu and each item read properly when the tab key was pressed. The user
recently was migrated to JAWS 15 and pressing the tab key just says the number
of the item, followed by the word button without reading the prompt or label
associated with that button. The prompt creator will not work in this
database. Using screen refresh and maximizing the window did not help. The
user's theme was set to Dell: I changed it to windows Classic and windows 7
Basic but nothing worked. What is now a bit odd is that loading JAWS 14
produces the same results, where the tab key just says button without reading
the prompt. We can use the JAWS cursor to read the prompts but I'm curious to
know if anyone could suggest other things I could try. Pressing insert-Q
verifies that Access 2010 scripts are loaded.
Thank you in advance for anything you can suggest.

I have tried its Convenient OCR on pdf's. the results were gratifying

fonts, the results were also bad.

One issue that I have noticed is with Eloquence, which is sometimes cut
off at the start of speech. For example, it may say ape for Escape,

I have a new verizon router and have it set to the maximum output. It
is
positioned in the back room on the second floor of an old town house.
On

 the
first floor there is spotty coverage as well as the 3rd floor. There
is
  no
coverage on the front or back porch. Is there any way that I can
extend
 the
range or can I have two routers on the same dsl line?
 Thanks.

I personally like the Amped Wireless products. They are powerful and solid
throughout my very large home. At this time I am only using my R1G in
the basement and I have a full signal on the third floor. I can even hit
the router using my iPhone 5 from the street behind my home. Your computer
running JAWS would have no trouble if you used one of these.

I didn't know that is what those devices are called, but my son had to
purchase a wireless device when he lived with me recently to get more stable
wifi in my town home and it's single story.
But what really did the trick better was one thing, a netgear router, and I
was told that if wifi has to go through a kitchen it will have problems or
if a kitchen is nearby.
Then in July, I was trying to use my iPad in my living room 30 feet from
modem and kitchen is in the middle, this is a wireless modem btw.
So I called my cable service and I dunno, she said the channel frequency was
at 8 and bumped it up to 11 because stating the IOS devices needing a
different strength.
Well amazingly enough, it has really made all teh difference, I can go
anywhere and have wifi.

[JAWS-Users] How to increase WiFi strength

2014-09-11 Thread Mike Boyd

Unfortunately, a WiFi signal repeater will do nothing to strengthen the WiFi
signal, it will only take a weak signal and send it farther out. I had this
problem where my computer was only about 10 ft. from my router, and only showed
to have a signal strength of 35%. I also had another computer in a bedroom,
about 30 ft away from my router, and it could not connect at all. The remedy to
this problem is to purchase a WiFi range extender or adapter. This nifty little
deal will first amplify the signal coming from the router, and then broadcast
it over a wide area, usually around a 300 meter radius. This can also be had
from Amazon, best buy or most electronics stores. You will want one with a
speed of at least 300 Mb/s, and with todays internet speeds, one with a 10/1000
transfer rate. Some good brands are: NetGear, TP Link, Belkin, Linksys, and
D-link. An average price for one that will suffice is around $50 to $75, and
you can find them on sale in the $40 range for the lower end ones.

Re: [JAWS-Users] increase wifi strength

2014-09-11 Thread Mike Boyd

tom,

A WiFi repeater, takes the WiFi signal and sends it out to a further
distance than the router can do itself. Unfortunately, it does nothing to
strengthen the signal. For this, you need a WiFi range Extender or WiFi
adapter. Both of these gadgets will increase the strength of the WiFi signal
and send it out to a radius of about 300 meters, giving you a stronger
signal at a farther distance. The repeater will only give you the same
signal at a farther distance.

Steve,

I find m.facebook.com to be pretty straight forward, as well as the regular
site. What are you trying to find on the site? You can search for anything that
you would like to do or any person that you would like to find. Then you have
your links to get to Messages, Notifications, etc. If you can tell more about
what it is that you want to do, more help can be provided.
