[Discover] [Bug 408509] New: Flathub updates are incorrectly presented for non-Flatpak applications
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408509 Bug ID: 408509 Summary: Flathub updates are incorrectly presented for non-Flatpak applications Product: Discover Version: 5.15.5 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: discover Assignee: lei...@leinir.dk Reporter: stevenmcfeel...@gmail.com CC: aleix...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 120742 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=120742&action=edit Screenshot of erronious updates SUMMARY Whenever I enable the Flathub repository, Discover eventually presents me with Flathub "updates" to applications that were never installed as Flatpaks. The most common two that have shown up are 1) Freedesktop Platform & 2) KDE Application Platform. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Enable Flathub 2. Wait for Freedesktop Platform or KDE Application Platform to be updated on Flathub 3. Your distribution has not yet updated the application in the official repositories OBSERVED RESULT Discover will present updates from Flathub for non-Flatpak based applications when checking for updates in Discover EXPECTED RESULT Discover will not present an available update and will wait until the update is provided from the repository the application was originally installed from to prevent breakage and compatibility issues. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 30 KDE Spin KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.58.0 Qt Version: 5.12.1 Kernel Version: 5.1.6-300.fc30.x86_64 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The Software Update tray table icon/app has NEVER presented these erroneous updates only Discover has done this. The only software that has been installed through Flathub are Steam, Handbrake and MakeMKV. This issue also occurred when Fedora 29 first launched. I inadvertently installed these updates at the time not realizing the potential problems they could cause. When I rebooted, I found that I could no longer log in to my OS (I was able to enter my user name an password but not submit them). This just highlights why it is critical to not present Flathub updates for non-Flatpak software and why the original installation repository should be the only repository an application's updates should be acquired from. Applications installed from one repository should not have their updates hijacked by another repository! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[krita] [Bug 408444] Include the 'SVG' filetype under File -> Export
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408444 --- Comment #3 from jimbo --- (In reply to vanyossi from comment #1) > An svg is rendered from a vector layer. The vector layer is composed only of > vector shapes and can be converted to svg allowing the resulting svg equal > to what you see in the layer and fully editable. > > A krita project consists of many more layer types than vector objects. When > exporting to an svg from "File -> export", what it the user expected to get? > a fully editable svg with rastered included layers as base64 images? like > this Almost all filter effects would be missing and the image output would > be substancially different than the projection in krita. Ah, I see the issue with doing that. I'm only bringing it up as most newbies would look for File -> Export first. It was a sticking point for me when I wanted to reuse my vector graphics but couldn't find the option easily. > Another option > would be to allow the user to choose the vector layer to render, but then, > it is more straight forward to just have the option in the layer menu. Maybe adding an 'Export to SVG' option to the right-click context menu for the layers? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Committed on 10/06/2019 at 05:48. Pushed by sredman into branch 'master'. [SMSApp] Support plain-text MMS ## Summary Not having support for MMS caused some minor problems, like in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398889 . This patch adds basic MMS support for plain-text MMS, including multi-target messages. Android companion to https://invent.kde.org/kde/kdeconnect-kde/merge_requests/97 Currently there are several rough areas: - Multi-target messages do not have the full list of recipients (I am planning to work on this in another patch, because this one is already quite large enough) - Parsing MMS is significantly slower than parsing SMS. This makes sense, since we need to make significantly many more content:// calls for MMS. The only solution I can think of here is to add the ability to request a range of messages, which I need to do anyway, but which should not be part of this patch. - The desktop app is totally busted with regard to multi-target MMS, but that will also be fixed in another MR ## Test Plan ### Before: Open SMS app on desktop, scroll through conversations, notice: - Any single-target message which had the most-recent message as an MMS does not appear - Any multi-target MMS conversations do not appear ### After: Open SMS app on desktop, notice: - Conversations which have an MMS as their most-recent message appear - MMS which consisted of only text are rendered correctly - Multi-target conversations are shown (though pretty busted, as said before. Do not attempt to reply to one!) https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=355467 --- Comment #4 from orionbe...@gmail.com --- Thanks a lot for the answer. Indeed, the key is hitting Esc twice to cancel the current search. Is this something obvious that i just happened to ignore or is it something that should be documented somewhere? I looked into the okular handbook and web site and i failed to find any mention that hitting Esc twice cancels the current search. A more visible way to make it obvious might be to add a "cancel search" option somewhere (in the menu bar, where the shortcut would also be mentioned, or in the search bar at the bottom). Hitting Esc once has an obvious and visible effect in the various contexts where it is applicable. But the double-Esc thing is not at all obvious, and i am now wondering whether i also miss other uses of it in different contexts. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 408366] Border Size Adjustment Issues With KDE Plasma Version 5.12.8 And OSX_Aurorae Theme
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408366 --- Comment #8 from dasm...@electronicaidesdesign.com --- (In reply to Vlad Zagorodniy from comment #7) > I cannot reproduce this bug on my computer. > > This can be either some issue on your machine/user account (one way to > verify whether that's indeed the case: create a new user account and see if > the issue is present) or "unknown" bug in Plasma 5.12. > > Also, it would be helpful if you could check whether this issue is present > in recent Plasma releases. Well, over this weekend I created a new user account and configured the desktop all over from scratch using the configure desktop tool, which came with openSUSE Leap 15.0 and KDE Plasma version 5.12.8. When I did the following steps: 1. I went into the Configure Desktop > System Settings > Application Style > Window Decorations > Look and Feel of Window Titles. 2. I clicked on the "Get New Decorations..." button to bring up the System Settings Add-On Installer window. 3. In the Search field, I typed in: OSX_Aurorae and the OSX_Aurorae theme should appear in the list of themes. Note: at the bottom left of this window, I get a red X with a message which says: "Unknown Open Collaboration Service API error. (405)", same as in my previous users account. I then clicked on the "Install" button associated with the OSX_Aurorae theme to install it and then I clicked on the "Close" button. 4. I now clicked on the OSX_Aurorae theme graphic example in the Look and Feel of Window Titles. I tried either clicking on the Wrench icon or the Border Size button to select the desired border size, such as "Normal". Note: the "Apply" button is grayed out as though it was disabled, but click on the "Apply" button anyway to apply the OSX_Aurorae theme setting. OBSERVED RESULT The results were the same as with my previous user account. The border size of the Look and Feel of Window Titles window suddenly changes to huge and would not change from huge, unless I select a different theme such as the Breeze theme, Oxygen, etc. However, kwin doesn't seem to be crashing like it was in the other user account. EXPECTED RESULT The window border size should change to the size selected from either clicking on the Wrench icon in the OSX_Aurorae theme graphic example or clicking on the Border Size button in the lower right corner of the Look and Feel of Window Titles window, then click on the "Apply" button. I don't know if the "Unknown Open Collaboration Service API error. (405)" whole problem because it's happening with other style themes that are downloaded. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I have attached a new video showing how to repro this bug consistently in Virtualbox. Here's how: 1. Configure the VM for two monitors. 2. Set the primary and monitor to 800 x 600 and the secondary monitor to 1024 x 768. 3. Open Kate, drag it to the second monitor and resize it, then close it. 4. Open Kate again. Result: Kate does not remember the new size. Is there a way to stop Kate from remembering its window size altogether? I have set KDE's window rules to enforce a specific screen location and size on startup, but Kate overrides this with its own values, and combined with this bug makes for a frustrating experience. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=408491 Bug ID: 408491 Summary: No gamut masks Product: krita Version: 4.2.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Color Selectors Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: jo.y.v...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I know gamut masks were introduced before version 4.2, but these gamut masks show up only in version 4.2 Now my problem is that my computer works very well but I can't upgrade it higher than 10.11 due to hardware requirements I assume EXPECTED RESULT Krita Version 4.2 requires Mac 10.12, and honestly I don't accept Apples quick and arbitrary update strategy. So much that I installed Linux weeks ago but there I can't work as usual. Krita 4.2 works flawlessly on my Linux installation so why it shouldn't on my Mac 10.11? New Mac Os versions introduced nothing useful just eye candy. So why bother and follow such useless update policies? SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS macOS: 10.11 Krita: 4.1.7 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[okular] [Bug 330643] Trim Margins resets View Mode
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=330643 --- Comment #1 from David Hurka --- Confirmed with Okular 1.7.2. It’s simple: Every tab is a Part, and when changing the view mode in a Part, it is written to the configuration file. (Only the viewport position is stored per-document.) Trim margins changes the page geometries, and thus calls slotRelayoutPages(). That will calculate a new layout (i. e. move the pages closer together because they don’t have margins anymore), but has to read the View Mode (the “layout mode”) from the configuration file. The bug could be expressed: Parts don’t syncronize their View Mode, so changing the View Mode in one Part makes the others unsynchronized to the configuration file. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
