[Breeze] [Bug 482275] New: Switch `media-playback-playing*` and `media-playback-stopped*` icons
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482275 Bug ID: 482275 Summary: Switch `media-playback-playing*` and `media-playback-stopped*` icons Classification: Plasma Product: Breeze Version: master Platform: unspecified OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Icons Assignee: visual-des...@kde.org Reporter: ad.liu@gmail.com CC: kain...@gmail.com, m...@nueljl.in Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Practically in all video players and websites, the user sees a "pause" button when the video is playing, and vice versa. Although these icons in Breeze are for "status", not buttons, so they are literally "correct". But the user is likely to be accustomed to the above patterns, so it might make sense to switch these two group of icons. It seems only Breeze provides these status icons. Adwaita only has -pause and -start action icons. So changing this is unlikely to affect anything but Plasma. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kate] [Bug 482274] New: Kate Segfaults when opening some files.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482274 Bug ID: 482274 Summary: Kate Segfaults when opening some files. Classification: Applications Product: kate Version: 24.02.0 Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: application Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: dashonww...@pm.me Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Hey, just updated endeavourOS / arch using the testing repos, so hopefully this isn't a packaging issue, but I have generated a backtrace for a couple different files in which this has happened. I see what looks like it is pointing to an issue with some plugin. STEPS TO REPRODUCE Kate has so many plugins and the number of combinations of plugins probably make this hard to recreate with just reproduction steps, but anyways. 1. Open a file with kate from dolphin: in my case I am using fish shell scripts. Some bash scripts have also had the issue, I can't really see a pattern here. OBSERVED RESULT File will either never open or open briefly before closing the window. EXPECTED RESULT Kate window should open and stay open without crashing. [kdesrc-build] [Bug 481272] Perl 5.28 being required prevents use in openSUSE LEAP 15.5 and potentially other non-rolling-release distros
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481272 --- Comment #8 from Andrew Shark --- I have explored what happened. The OpenSuse Leap 15.5 uses perl 5.26.1. That perl version uses GetOpt::Long 2.49 specification: perl -MGetopt::Long -e 'print $Getopt::Long::VERSION, "\n";' 2.49 Here is the doc for this specification: https://perldoc.perl.org/5.26.1/Getopt::Long It can be seen that this spec already supports such specification of number of args: > It is also possible to specify the minimal and maximal number of arguments an > option takes. foo=s{2,4} indicates an option that takes at least two and at > most 4 arguments. foo=s{1,} indicates one or more values; foo:s{,} indicates > zero or more option values. The issue appeared after introducing the short version of option as exclamation mark in this commit: https://invent.kde.org/sdk/kdesrc-build/-/commit/5b155c5e29dd2d377fd1f84fb42d0e629a9f368b#9cca8ad07f12b7b754bac5e08c4e360e4c8ab1a3_448_460 This was half of year ago, and nobody complained. Because newer versions of perl allow exclamation mark. This proves nobody uses outdated distros like OpenSuse Leap for development. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482250 --- Comment #3 from Tom --- OK, I guess leave it be. I tried turning that checkbox on, but then it asks me to confirm every change, which is highly annoying. When I edit the text, I definitely want the edits. I can't think of any other programs I use where a single common keystroke instantly eliminates massive amounts of data across the entire contents of a database, with no method to undo. I also can't think of any workflow where this is desirable - under what circumstances does someone want to overwrite all the captions in the database with one key command hit while in a text editing field? But I sort of expected the answer would be that it's working as intended. For me, I just turned off the key command for command + i, so it shouldn't happen to me again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I'd agree, except, the issue occurs for me from first login (cold boot), until I relog (sometimes multiple are needed). So it can't be that, at least not in my case. It doesn't crash anymore The reporter is unsure if this crash is reproducible. -- Backtrace: Application: System Settings (systemsettings), signal: Segmentation fault [KCrash Handler] #4 0x7f0344e83ed8 in QQuickWindowPrivate::sendFilteredPointerEventImpl(QQuickPointerEvent*, QQuickItem*, QQuickItem*) () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Quick.so.5 #5 0x7f0344e83df6 in QQuickWindowPrivate::sendFilteredPointerEventImpl(QQuickPointerEvent*, QQuickItem*, QQuickItem*) () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Quick.so.5 #6 0x7f0344e83df6 in QQuickWindowPrivate::sendFilteredPointerEventImpl(QQuickPointerEvent*, QQuickItem*, QQuickItem*) () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Quick.so.5 #7 0x7f0344e83df6 in QQuickWindowPrivate::sendFilteredPointerEventImpl(QQuickPointerEvent*, QQuickItem*, QQuickItem*) () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Quick.so.5 #8 0x7f0344e84bae in QQuickWindowPrivate::deliverToPassiveGrabbers(QVector > const&, QQuickPointerEvent*) () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Quick.so.5 #9 0x7f0344e8b165 in QQuickWindowPrivate::deliverMouseEvent(QQuickPointerMouseEvent*) () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Quick.so.5 #10 0x7f0344e8c8b3 in QQuickWindowPrivate::deliverPointerEvent(QQuickPointerEvent*) () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Quick.so.5 #11 0x7f0344e8dabd in QQuickWindowPrivate::handleMouseEvent(QMouseEvent*) () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Quick.so.5 #12 0x7f034714f215 in QWindow::event(QEvent*) () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Gui.so.5 #13 0x7f034796c783 in QApplicationPrivate::notify_helper(QObject*, QEvent*) () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Widgets.so.5 #14 0x7f0346abd30a in QCoreApplication::notifyInternal2(QObject*, QEvent*) () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5 #15 0x7f034536531b in QQuickWidget::mouseReleaseEvent(QMouseEvent*) () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5QuickWidgets.so.5 #16 0x7f03479af97e in QWidget::event(QEvent*) () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Widgets.so.5 #17 0x7f034796c783 in QApplicationPrivate::notify_helper(QObject*, QEvent*) () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Widgets.so.5 #18 0x7f03479743c4 in QApplication::notify(QObject*, QEvent*) () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Widgets.so.5 #19 0x7f0346abd30a in QCoreApplication::notifyInternal2(QObject*, QEvent*) () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Core.so.5 #20 0x7f0347972ea7 in QApplicationPrivate::sendMouseEvent(QWidget*, QMouseEvent*, QWidget*, QWidget*, QWidget**, QPointer&, bool, bool) () from /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQt5Widgets.so.5 #21 0x7f03479c91fb in ?? When it's opened again, the brush (and some or all other brushes) will be unassigned.
