I just do commit in libwps git repository concerning the LICS conversion:
https://sourceforge.net/p/libwps/code/ci/41dfedf3d25025fe1dc91e7a01d83a54d3259476

Of course, this does not fix the DOS codepage's problem (which will require a
change of libwps's API)

Thanks for the support. I'm currently migrating from OO4.x, where the PDF
export generates all pages with this file, so I wasn't aware of the hidden
state (it is unintentional, and was never noticed, because the slides were
always shown as PDF).

what an absolutely horrible "feature". Who could have possibly thought that
this would be of any use under any circumstance. It's practically a show
stopper. As much as I have been trying to avoid using MS Office, I may have no
choice.

I can't believe that after all this time and all the negative comments, someone
has not fixed it. I would, but my programming skills are not up to the task as
a one-off.

tested under Win8.1 x64 using LibO 4.3.4.1

I think the issue may depend on the fact that some of your slides are in hidden
state.

take a look at the Slide Pane (enable it from the View menu) and you'll see
that some slide preview are greyed. right click on them and select "show
slide". the slide preview will turn normal and that slide will be correctly
exported to pdf.

so bottomline is that PDF export doesn't export hidden slides.
those slide won't be show even in the slideshow mode, since they are hidden.
you can only see them in the editing mode.

I don't know why so many slides of that presentation were in hidden state. did
you do that on purpose of was an accidetal mistake?

anyway I'm closing this one as NOTABUG

I want an option to restore normal printer setting with the document.
I know there is an option "Load printer settings with the document",
but we need to uncheck it in each computer.

Steps to Reproduce:
 1.Open a ODS file in computer A.
2.Print sheets from printer X, then save the file.
3.Open the file in computer B and select "File"-"Print"

Current behavior:
Printer X is selected as a printing destination regardless of normal printer
of computer B.

Expected behavior:
Print from normal printer of each PC.

Puh-lease be verbose, two-sentence reports are next to useless:

How did you upgrade your LibreOffice installation? Via PPA? Or did you download
it from libreoffice.org?

One thing you should know, Ubuntu-built packages (i.e., those that come from
the Ubuntu archives and from launchpad.net) have better integration with the

I am on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. I installed a new version of Libreoffice from the
official PPA, and am now working with LibreOffice 4.3.4.1.

Since, I have prepared (and given!) a new ODP presentation. I did not encounter
any problems with disappearing images. It wasn't a very long presentation but
it did include quite some images, a few TexMaths formulae and even a video.
This is very encouraging. Thanks!

I should have upgraded before, instead of stubbornly sticking with the
LibreOffice 4.2 included in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87337] EDITING: CALC crashes all opened spreadsheets

2014-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87337

RDS..Remote Desktop Services.. also known as "Terminal Server".
Clients connect to it via a thin client which uses a built in RDP client.
They connect to the terminal server with a Windows login and get a windows
desktop using MS Outlook 2003 with LibreOffice. Prior to Libre, they were using
Apache OpenOffice.
They open spreadsheet "A.xls" and edit it and save it as "B.xls". This saving
process makes A.xls become B.xls with the assumption that A.xls is now closed
because it is no longer open. So they are now working on B.xls when all of a
sudden it crashes.
The users are now manually saving the document so when this does happen, they
will have the data up until they manually saved it. During the recovery
process, the A.xls shows up in the recovery list to recover. They select it
(inadvertantly because they don't know any different) and it fails. They go to
the location of B.xls and open it and continue to work on it, manually saving
in case this happens again.
Outlook opens attachments in a temporary location (users profile)so my guess is
that it has a lock file somewhere for it even though it should be closed?? In
Libre, it seems that when one Calc file crashes all crash so it is possible
that A.xls opens in the recovery list and B.xls doesn't since they manually
saved it?
Not sure.I hope this helps.

2014-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Hi Matoe,

Thanks for all the detail. Can I just tie up some points which may help the
devs?

RDS - Remote Desktop? Can you just give a bit more info pls? EG. user jumps on
a Windows PC and remotely connects to Windows 2008 server? What client is being
used?

Okay, the user is connected to the server and opens Outlook 2003 on that
server.

- Open the email with attachment a.xls
- modify a.xls and save as b.xls (on the remote instance?)
- continue to modify b.xls. No open/close of that file - there is still the
link to Outlook?

Cheers

As mentioned, this bug has multiple causes.
And thus, when improvements are done, it might improve in part of the
situations... Makes tracking rather complicated.

> production with v4.2.6 and might have to downgrade to 4.1.5.3 (doesn't have
> the bug, we're sure about that)

I'm sure that the problem sometimes comes up in older versions. But maybe in a
different setting/use that what is the case with your users.

> ... or upgrade to 4.3.4.1 (I would prefer but am
> not sure it'll fix the situation)

I've not much specific experience with 4.3/4.4/4.5, but some of the patches
have been applied to those releases, so that could explain the positive
response from Pierre C

Cheers,

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87340] New: Page numerotation random with lot of tables

2014-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87340

Bug ID: 87340
Summary: Page numerotation random with lot of tables
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.4.1 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: oliv...@churlaud.com

Created attachment 110878
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=110878&action=edit
document with problem with the page

I'm using for exercices Libreoffice writer. It never happened to me but it
seems to be related with the tables (I did nothing special to see this
happening): the pages are not 1, 2, 3 4, 5 but 1, 0, 0, 0, 1.

I added a file that show the pb: There is a page 1 (first) then 3 pages 0. You
can try to add a footer : the pages 0 are displayed so.

I'm normally used to deal with styles, page theming... but this time I think
it's a bug. If not: please tell me what I did wrong.

Thx a lot
Olivier

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87070] 4.3 releases do not launch after install on Win 8.1 x64 - soffice.exe application error (0xc000007b)

@Jan,

Sorry to say that with a 64-bit en-US install of Windows 8.1 Enterprise with
the KB3013769 roll-up installed I can simply not reproduce the issue with
either full, or /A administrative, installs of LibreOffice 4.3.4.1, 4.3.5.1 (or
now 4.3.5.2 pre-release). As well, 4.4.0 beta2 and current masters all run.

I'm guessing there could be something strange in system path on your de-DE
install that is pushing 64-bit ahead of 32-bit libraries. A run with Dependency
Walker (http://dependencywalker.com/) might let you tease it out.

@Jesús, Andras, Fridrich -- any of you working yet in 8.1 (or 10) and having
anything similar to this with your localizations and LibreOffice?

Stuart

Bug ID: 87338

   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.3.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: boruch_b...@gmx.com

In Libre-Office Writer, when inserting a cross-reference to an endnote, a
pop-up window appears which includes a selection list of the current endnotes.
When the entire document and its endnotes are in an RTL language (ie. Hebrew),
the elements of the list appear in the window, justified flush-left. They
should be justified flush-right.

Bug ID: 87337
Summary: EDITING: CALC crashes all opened spreadsheets
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.4.1 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ms...@senecamedical.com

I have been seeing reported crashes within CALC, andI haven't been able to
pinpoint the reason. User opens Outlook 2003, opens email(not preview mode)
with an XLS attachment. User opens the attachment called "A", edits it, saves
it as "B" out into their my documents. They continue to work on "B" and all of
a sudden, it crashes. When they try and launch spreadsheet "B" it wants to
recover spreadsheet "A". I have heard that they were just sitting idle with it
and it happens or while editing. This install is on a RDS environment Windows
2008 R2. I have wiped out their Libo folder in the user profile. Still happens.
I also noticed that there will be files located in the Libo backup folder from
days past as well as the the day the crash happens. It goes in spurts... No
crashes and all of a sudden it happens several times in one day.Roaming
profiles. Documents redirected to network server. Strangest clue: I have about
150 users using LibreOffice 4.3.4.1 on 7 different servers. It happens to the
same 12 people. 10 of them are on the same server. The other two are on two
different servers. Different XLS files. I have not been able to reproduce. I
only ever see the original crash message. Anything else to check?

Try to move the field with the mouse.
The position of the mouse is under the control.
It isn't as much as Lionel described and I could confirm with one report -

I set status NEW and I give my 2 cents about it.

> Step 1 - Rearrangement
> The arrange/alignment section should be moved to the bottom of the menu and
> the save/change image section should be moved to the top underneath the
> clipboard functions.

I agree. logical disposition.

> Step 2 - Removals
> The 'Rotate Image' submenu should be removed as it is available in the image
> toolbar and the toolbar also has flip functions. ImageMap is a feature used
> in html editors like Writer Web and is a feature rarely used. Description is
> also another highly unused feature. Alignment and anchor submenus are

I'd leave all those items. they are less used but if you remove them all the
basic users won't even know that they exist. moreover I find useful to have the
rotate item either in the context menu and in the toolbar .

> Step 3 - Icons
> Many of these entries are missing icons, with the most important one that is
> needed is for the 'Image...' entry.

More icons needed, expecially that one.

PPTX

I have attached a pptx and ppt saved with Powerpoint. PPT displays correctly,
the PPTX has the following issues in 4.4.0.0.beta2:

- Charts are missing titles.
- Wrong rotation of vertical axis labels.
- Wrong orientation of X-axis labels and not wrapping text (causing every other
label to disappear). Orientation behavior for the X-axis seems to be length
dependent.

The missing legend label on the lower left chart is not really an issue. A 3rd
data column was used as a spacer and this extra label confused the legend.
Removing the text from the 3rd column before importing will make the legend
display properly.

What do you mean with "Giri control"? The control of the example, which is
labelled with "Konto"?

I see I haven't give a hint about the system.
I have the buggy behavior with openSUSE 12.3 64bit rpm Linux. Sometimes it
seems to work right, when I change the version (from 4.2.8.2 to 4.3.5.2). Then
I open the form for editing, save the form (without changing anything) and
again the focus is lost - will appear at "ID", the first field of the

I just finished up another price list and can confirm that the bug is still
happening with LibreOffice 4.3.4 and 4.3.5

I started with the document I have also uploaded and saved it in ods format and
as soon as I opened the resulting file, some images were stretched again. This
happened twice before I switched to the xlsx and xls file formats and the bug
hasn't happened yet despite closing and reopening the file about 50 times each.

So it seems like this bug only affects the ods file format.

I have reuploaded the file here:
https://office.mailbox.org/publications/documents/2570616/3337fd95a02c27775d27f6e5140db94f

Password is still LibOBug

When saving in xlsx he images seem to move around a bit when reopening the
saved file. Xls file format is flawless.

As noted this is RFE although I do have intermittent bug-like problems that
center on this functionality.

1. Lionel's solution appears not to create permanent setting specific to
particular form. That is, if there are several forms, several users, and maybe
several forms open at once, "Print"/"Web" setting value may toggle or migrate
from one form to another without user input. That is, a form that is set for
"print" view will go go to "web" view without any clear user direction. The
form then will display incorrectly, sometimes in non-obvious ways and require
user intervention. Problem is intermittent, specific sequence to trigger is
unknown.

2. Base sometimes gets confused along the lines of the separate "Print" width
setting, and reorganizes the display of objects on a form along the boundaries
in that setting even when displaying in "Web" view, or maybe vice-versa. The
settings seem dynamic in some way. The result is that if there is a group of
controls on a form, the columns beyond the right-side boundary may be
compressed left and crowded/stacked. Likewise, the rows below may be
compressed/stacked above. Form in that condition is unusable, appears broken.
Self-resolves after closing or reopening either the form or Base entirely,
sometimes a few times. I believe the spontaneous reorganization of the
controls on the form is along the "Print" boundary when in "Web" mode, but it
also could be along boundaries of another form open at same time. Problem is
intermittent, one out of say, a hundred times opening form, specific steps to
re-recreate are unknown.

FWIW, other consumer database solution has setting as I describe; different
structure of Base is unintuitive.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 87331] New: Right click is done on the wrong sheet

2014-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87331

Bug ID: 87331
Summary: Right click is done on the wrong sheet
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 4.3.4.1 release
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: yvan.mas...@openmailbox.org

sheet selection zone

Hi,

This has been tested on 4.3.4.1 on Windows and 4.3.3-2 on Linux.

As it is difficult to explain, the easiest is to first look at the screenshot
attached :
When I do a right click on the sheet partially hidden on the right (here
"Feuille3"), if there is another sheet at right (called here "Feuille4"), then
the right click will be applied to "Feuille4" instead of "Feuille3".

To be more general, if you right click on a sheet which is partially hidden,
the right click will be effective on the next sheet. It happens both when the
partly hidden sheet is on the right or on the left.

I would expect that the right click would be effective on the sheet I clicked
on.

Thanks for your time and work,
YvanM
