https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116858 Bug ID: 116858 Summary: [Feature Request] View > Freeze Cells > Freeze Rows and Columns Product: LibreOffice Online Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: Calc Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: wnymath...@gmail.com Hello, I'm a huge fan/promoter of LibreOffice. Started with StarOffice, and I'm still with you. Currently, I'm using Collabora via my NextCloud server. It's so exciting! Cloud Power in the hands of ordinary people! I might be acting like a whiny baby, but I can't believe how much I liked having the ability to work in a spreadsheet with the freeze feature available. I've used the freeze feature in many ways for specific applications. Often I freeze an arbitrary number of rows because I have subtotal type formulas above the column names for the auto-filter. Sometimes I have rows above the formulas doing things that I don't want to see so I'll freeze the rows in a way that I freeze rows 4 & 5 but 1-3 are up out of sight. Not like I'm going to stop using Collabora because of this, but it definitely bugs me and I think it would bug people I used to make managerial spreadsheets for. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116835 --- Comment #5 from Heiko Tietze --- The idea of changing the behavior was IIRC that users get a feedback when searching for BAR and find BÄR too, considering also that a slightly longer result list is better than not knowing why something has not been found. OK, I can live with that :) > Fwiw, contrary to what was said in comment 0, in German I do *not* expect > diacritics to be ignored. Umlauts are distinct letters, not some "variation > of a base" letter. Searching for Bar should not find Bär. > I could bet also in French accented characters are not to be mangled. Oh. Well, I might have read too much into the old default (diacritic-sensitive = off) and my admittedly fading knowledge of German. But if also German (and French) should default to diacritic-sensitive search, then all the better. > Trying to couple the Diacritic-sensitive default to locale/language IMHO is > doomed to fail. There is no default locale with text, text either has a > specific locale attribute or is set to None. Different portions of text can > have different locales assigned. Often enough text is attributed with the > user's current default locale but is written in another language and the > attribute never changed. A coupled default would lead to bad user experience. Agreed that it would be tricky. But if we default to diacritic-sensitive search now (also for English with its varying spellings à la naive/naïve etc.), then the issue is pretty much resolved in my eyes. > Rather tackle the reason why Diacritic-sensitive was introduced first-hand: > for Arabic. So have a second Arabic-diacritic-sensitive checkbox and if > (default) unchecked ignore diacritics only in text portions written in > Arabic script. I agree. I noticed this issue when I tried to edit a large document. I created a new document and was easily able to reproduce this bug. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a word doc or docx with Subtle Emphasis style 2. Modify the Subtle Emphasis style with something like adding underline Expected results 1. Only instances of Subtle Emphasis style change. For their part Intel publishes corrected "reference" drivers that OEM vendors are encouraged to adopt and deploy. But it is the OEM's choice to do so or not--as a business decision. Despite its market share, HP is lethargic in its product technical support to include certifying updated GPU drivers and deploying. Forcing afflicted consumers to force use of Intel's driver. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115970] Set default font size for CJK fonts as locale value
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115970 --- Comment #12 from Volga --- With a recent notice from Mark Hung, I have found that W3C Requirements for Chinese Text Layout has following notes at section 2.3.5: “Character size. For the main target audience of publications, i.e. the adult population, the most common character size is 10.5pt (≒3.7mm) or 9pt (≒3.2mm). The minimum acceptable size is 8pt (≒2.8mm), except for specialized publications.” Then I found Requirements for Chinese Text Layout has following instruction for Kihon-kanmen (basic layout): “b. Character size. Generally 9 point (about 3.2mm) type is common. Except for specialized publications such as dictionaries, the minimum size of type is 8 point (about 2.8mm).” “(note 1) In Western text layout, 10 point (about 3.5mm) or 12 point (about 4.2mm) type is common. This is mainly because of a difference in design principles between Japanese and Latin characters.” Requirements for Korean Text Layout doesn’t have such requirement. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Steps to Reproduce: 1. insert images into doc 2. edit frame image style try to set width to be a % of the paragraph area 3. try to set "Keep ratio" so image is not distorted Actual Results: 4. "Keep ratio" is greyed out for no apparent reason. No documentation to explain why. Expected Results: Expect "Keep ratio" not to be. greyed out so that when image style is applied to images, they are scaled according to the set % and the height is adjusted to maintain aspect ratio.
