budget-ci.c : Wrong IR map for bundled Technotrend S2-3200 remote

2010-09-08 Thread Newsy Paper
Hi!

in budget-ci.c RC_MAP_TT_3200 is set for a Technotrend S2-3200. But this RC map
doesn't seems to be 100% correct.

   case 0x1019:
/* For the TT 3200 bundled remote */
ir_codes = RC_MAP_TT_3200;
break;

if I set ir_codes = RC_MAP_TT_1500
all keys will be recognized with evtest. So RC_MAP_TT_1500 is the correct map

So are there different revisions of remotes bundled with Technotrend S2-3200?
Or is this just a driver bug?

kind regards

[Patch] Correct Signal Strength values for STB0899

2010-09-08 Thread Newsy Paper
Hi,

first of all I have to say that this patch is not from me.
It's from rotor-0.1.4mh-v1.2.tar.gz
Thx to the author of that patch and the modified rotor Plugin. I think he's a
friend of Mike Booth

I think it should be included into s2-liplianin.
With this patch all dvb-s and dvb-s2 signal strength values are scaled
correctly.

Is there any limit in stb6100 driver that prevents tuning SR < 1 Msps

2010-07-02 Thread Newsy Paper
Hi,

i tried tuning to a channel that has a SR < 1 Msps in DVB-S with szap and I get

using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
FE_SET_FRONTEND failed: Invalid argument

is there any limit in driver that doesn't allow my TT S2-3200 to try to tune
into that tranponder?

I know according to specification card only supports tuning from 1 Mbps - 30
Mbps, but that's specification for most cards. Most of the cards can also lock
at signals with lower SRs.

There are some low SR channels on Astra 3a http://flysat.com/astra23.php
12660 V and 12661 V

with Technisat Skystar 2 it's working without a problem.

kind regards

why can't S2-3200 do APSK32 and APSK16?

2010-03-06 Thread Newsy Paper
seems like netup card can do apsk16+ apsk32
http://udev.netup.ru/cgi-bin/hgwebdir.cgi/v4l-dvb-aospan-stv0900aac/rev/247404af8e56

what's the reason s2-3200 cannot do that modulation? I think s2-3200's hardware
supports those modulations, is there a problem with the driver then?

kind regards

tt s2-3200: dvb-s2 problem transponders fixed :) concerns SR 30000 3/4 8psk mode

2009-12-22 Thread Newsy Paper
thanks to Andreas Regel + Manu Abraham for their work.

I just tested those problem transponders. If I set SR to 29998 instead of 3
they finally work with recent s2-liplian changeset.

Thank you for your great work and thanks to all the others involved in v4l
driver development.

Re: Anyone capable of fixing inverted spectrum issue on tt s2-3200?

2009-12-17 Thread Newsy Paper
ok this modification does change something as I have no signal on all dvb-s2
transponders that don't use inverted spectrum. I'm still looking for a
transponder that has this inverted spectrum still enabled, so I'll give
feedback as soon as I find one.

Re: Anyone capable of fixing inverted spectrum issue on tt s2-3200?

2009-12-16 Thread Newsy Paper
thx Manu for your quick answer. I tried that patch, at least on those 8psk
3 3/4 on thor 1 West it didn't solve the problem, but I'm not sure if they
really use inverted spectrum on that transponder.

ORF switched inverted spectrum off again, so I'm in search of an dvb-s2
transponder that has set inverted spectrum on in order to test your change. :(

Anyone capable of fixing inverted spectrum issue on tt s2-3200?

2009-12-16 Thread Newsy Paper
Hi,

as the problem with the ORF HD transponder on Astra is now figured out and ORF
switched inversion off again, we know know where the bug in the driver is. I
don't know if the problem also occours on dvb-s(1) transponders but I'll try to
figure that out.

Is anyone able to fix that dvb-s2 problem? Perhaps it would also solve the
problem with some transponders on 1° west?

yes, this transponder is working again at blog.ors.at they say that they
updated the modulator. It is working now again but driver still has this bug,
so it's interesting what the update of the modulator changed exactly.

no locking on dvb-s2 22000 2/3 8PSK transponder on Astra 19.2E with tt s2-3200

2009-12-09 Thread Newsy Paper
Hi,

no matter if I use Igors or Manus driver, there's no lock on 11303 h 22000 2/3
8psk. Other users at vdr-portal report same problem.

The strange thing is that all other transponders that use 22000 2/3 8psk do
work but this transponder doesn't. It worked fine until december 3rd when
uplink moved to Vienna. I think they changed a parameter like rolloff or
inversion and the dvb-s2 part of stb6100 is buggy.

TT S2-3200 no locking in 8psk 22000 5/6

2009-09-15 Thread Newsy Paper
Hi!

I found out that s2-3200 doesn't only have problems with 3 3/4 8psk, but
also with 22000 5/6 8psk like TVP @ Astra 10862 h has.

It's on a spot beam from today on, but yesterday femon showed me signal,
carrier and sync but no Lock, exactly like the scandinavian channels at Thor.

8psk 22000 2/3 is no problem.

can S2-3200 do APSK32 and APSK16?

2009-07-19 Thread Newsy Paper

On 13e
the italians use dvb2 modulation 16APSK.
tp. 7 (11,334 GHz, pol. H, SR: 27500, FEC: 2/3)
tp. 9 (11,373 GHz, pol. H, SR: 27500, FEC: 2/3)

how to receive those channels with S2-3200? Is there a missing part in the
driver for APSK?

is there any news about that topic? Did anyone find a solution? Also Orange
@Atlantic Bird3 5W 11471 V 29950 2/3 8PSK suffers this problem.

Re: [linux-dvb] Technotrend Budget S2-3200 Digital artefacts on HDchannels

2009-01-26 Thread Newsy Paper
the transponders you don't get lock are problem transponders of s2-3200.
The driver is still not able to lock on dvb-s2 3 3/4 transponders :(

Which software do you use to play HD content?
you need either xine-lib 1.2 with external ffmpeg (recent developer's version).
or xine-vdpau (if you have a NVIDIA graka that supports h264 hw acceleration).
