[Linux-PowerEdge] openwsman in DSU Repository: November 2016

2016-11-22 Thread vincent

Is there any reason why that repo now provides a set of openwsman
x86_64-only rpms on RHEL6_x64?

This breaks the update on my systems because of multilib:

Skipping filters plugin, no data
--> Running transaction check
---> Package libwsman1.x86_64 0:2.2.3-9.el6 will be updated
---> Package libwsman1.x86_64 0:2.2.3.9-2193.9883.el6 will be an update

---> Package openwsman-server.x86_64 0:2.2.3.9-2193.9883.el6 will be an update
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Multilib version problems found. This often means that the root
   cause is something else and multilib version checking is just
   pointing out that there is a problem. Eg.:

This is caused by the presence (on my RHEL6 system) of 32bit openwsman
packages in addition to the usual 64bit packages:

# rpm -q openwsman-server openwsman-client libwsman1
openwsman-server-2.2.3-9.el6.x86_64
openwsman-server-2.2.3-9.el6.i686
openwsman-client-2.2.3-9.el6.x86_64
openwsman-client-2.2.3-9.el6.i686
libwsman1-2.2.3-9.el6.x86_64
libwsman1-2.2.3-9.el6.i686

so if you are determined to provide updated openwsman packages, then you
should at least provide a 32bit build in the same directory as not to
cause isues when replacing RedHat's packages..

My 2c,

Vincent

weird thing is that - I powered down the system, replaced
H310 with H700 and it worked. There were PVs and an LVM LV
on those JBODs but I removed them as first thing before gave
perccli a try.
I'll see, maybe I'll get a chance to revert controllers, if
then H310 still fails that would maybe mean firmware problem
(although DSU says: the latest)

Re: [Linux-PowerEdge] PERC H310 refuses to create raid?

2016-11-22 Thread Mark Dominik Buerkle
Hi,

"JBOD" reads to me as if the single drives are all visible to the O/S as
single drives.

Ie. Your drives are "in use" and can't be assigned to a virtual drive.

Kind regards,
Dominik

[Linux-PowerEdge] PERC H310 refuses to create raid?

2016-11-22 Thread lejeczek
hi everyone

I'm trying something simple:

$ perccli /c0 add vd raid5 drives=32:0-5 pdcache=on

and it spits back on me:

Controller = 0
Status = Failure
Description = physical disk does not have appropriate attributes

currently:
