long equation
Hello, I'm writing a IEEE Tran paper (twocolumn) and need to write a very long equation, but I can't force Latex/Lyx to use both columns for it. Is there any way to do this? Thank you, Matias.
CV class file
Hello, Is there any curriculum vitae class file for LaTex/Lyx? Matias.

IEEEtrans.cls and LyX
Hello, I've been using IEEEtrans.cls in Latex. Now I want to use this class file in Lyx. How can I "add" this class file to LyX. I also want to use IEEE bib style file (IEEE.bst) in LyX. Any hints? Thank you, Matias.
wide figures in a twocolumn article
Hello, This is almost off topic because I'm not using lyx for this article, I'm using LaTex. I didn't know where else I could ask. I'm sorry. I need to insert a wide eps figure in a twocolumn IEEEtrans article. I'm using package "graphix". Any ideas? Please, cc to my email address because I have "digest on". Thanks in advance, Matias.
Long equation in a two-column article
Hello, I have a two column article (ieeetrans.cls) and I have a very long equation. I'd like two span the equation over both colums: aa bb aa bb aa bb aa bb aa bb aa bb my long equation (1) aa bb aa bb aa bb aa bb aa bb aa bb Any hints? thanks in advance. Matias.

It works. I can use transfig to build the Makefile or just fig2dev. > Is postscript generally working on your system? (e.g., can you see the > postscript preview in LyX?) Yes, it's working. I'm also using LaTex and things like 'dvips', 'ghostview' work perfectly well. I can also see the ps preview in LyX. I'll download xfig-3.2.3d and transfig-3.2.3d from www.xfig.org and try again. > Look at www.lyx.org for new versions. Ok. Thank you. Matias

Is this bleeding edge? > Have you got transfig installed as well as xfig, with the same realease > number ? That might explain this failure. 'rpm -qa | grep transfig' reports transfig-3.2.1-4 'rpm -qa | grep xfig' reports xfig-3.2.3_beta1-2 Is that my problem? I thought rpm took care of these dependencies. Where can I get updated xfig and transfig rpm packages? Thank you, Matias.

I have Xfig 3.2.3 patchlevel beta-1 (Protocol 3.2) and when I try to export eps I get the following error message: Unknown graphics language eps Known languages are: acad box epic eepic eepicemu gif ibmgl jpeg latex pcx pic pitex As I said before, I'd also like to update lyx (I have 1.1.5 fix 1) on my redhat 6.2 (Xfree86-3.3.6). Is there any newer stable version? Matias.
lyx & xfig
Hello, I´d like to update my old lyx. Could you please suggest any stable rpm for redhat 6.2, kernel 2.2.18, Xfree86-3.3.6? I´ve used xfig for a while. A few days ago I installed a newer version and I couldnt export eps files any longer. I can still use dev2ps and related tools, but miss that export option. Thank you, Matias.
off topic: digest mode
Hello, Is there any way to switch to digest mode or I just have to unsubscribe from here and subscribe there? Matias.

IEEEtran.cls is not part of my LyX installation. Another member of this list (nbecker) sent it to me this morning. I'm interested in making this LaTex class file a LyX layout/class file. Matias.
Re: IEEE Transaction on Communications style
Hello, Thank you very much for the class file. I've already tried it ($latex my_paper.tex) and it's exactly what I need. One more question: How should I do or where should I place this class file in order to be able to use it from LyX? I mean I'd like to make IEEEtran appear at Layout->Document->Class. Matias.
IEEE Transaction on Communications style
Hello everybody, I've been using LyX and LaTex for almost one year, but never had to format any of my articles so precisely. Now I need to follow IEEE Tr. on Comm article format as closely as possible. I would appreciate any links to LaTex .sty or .cls, or to LyX format (class?) files. I'd also enjoy learning how to build these kind of files, so any links to documentation on this issue would be appreciated (for future use). Many thanks in advance, Matias. ------ Matias Freytes Laboratorio de Comunicaciones Digitales Universidad Nacional de Cordoba Argentina
