Re: How to use crutial's memory scanning tool?

2013-04-27 Thread Nicolai Svendsen
Hi Sarah,

When you say memory scanning tool, I'd assume the application you download off
of Crucial's website. That tool simply scans the computer quickly, then brings
up a page in Safari with your current specs and compatible upgrades, but also
allows you to choose other options like a different drive capacity, but
upgrades which will primarily be compatible with your Mac.

If you're not using your Mac while wanting to do the scan, or using another Mac
but want to see upgrades for a different computer, you can use the Crucial
Memory Advisor™ tool. It allows you to select manufacturer, computer and model
from pop up buttons. TO apply your choices and show results, just move the
mouse pointer to the RAM configurator image with VO-Command-F5, then press
VO-Shift-Space. A new page loads, and recommended options appear, and you can
also download the Sysem Scanner from here..

I recommend the system scanner if applicable. It's a lot simpler to use, and
shows you hard drive options as well as memory options.

Regards,
Nicolai

2013-04-27 Thread Gordon Smith
Hiall

I'm looking now for a new recommendation for Twitter, as I don't seem to be
able to find Syrix any longer so think it may be out of development. I know
there's another one but I forget its name, and I'm looking for a GUI-based
client which could preferably handle Facebook as well as multiple Twitter
accounts.

Kind regards

the eject key becomes the power key. Is that too difficult for the American

Sarah, I'd be really careful with that. what brand of baby wipes are you
using? My friend used just your standard non cented Huggy's baby wipe once
on his phone, and after he did this for about a month, it had a really weird
streaked filmy stream going down his phone which to this day he's not been
able to totally get rid of. I don't know... maybe the ones he used had
locian in them or alovira etc. we didn't look at the box to know for sure.
All I'm saying is be careful, as baby wipes don't just have water to moisten
them. They have other things which in my opinion, I'm not so sure I'd want
to be exposing my screen, protector or not, to, maybe a baby's bum, ok, LOL!
but not my phone. Smile.

Converting mpeg II files to m4a or mp3?

2013-04-27 Thread Christian Schoepplein
Hi,

I have a disk video recorder running on my NAS. The video recorder stores the
recordings in MPEG II format. Now I am looking for a software, that can
exctract the audio channel out of the MPEG II files, the best would be to have
the audio output in m4a or mp3 format.

Has anyone an idea software I can use which is also useable with VO?

Cheers,

  Christian

Re: Converting mpeg II files to m4a or mp3?

2013-04-27 Thread Esther
Hi Christian,

Try MPEG Streamclip from:
http://www.squared5.com
The software is free, and you should be able to extract audio to MP4 AAC or MP3
if you want a compressed format.

Cheers,

Esther

Update on my issue with user accounts.

2013-04-27 Thread Matthew C
Hello all. After dealing with a very helpful person from apple care ,who
actually called me back when he said he would, my issue with logging in with
my apple id is fixed. We had to wipe the drive and reinstall the Os. I did
need sighted help for the wiping part. I am so impressed at how it just
connects to apple and downloads the OS and installs it. Once that was done I
was able to bring up Vo and set it up myself. I am feeling good because I am
making the transfer from the pc to the mac fairly easily. Now my next big
project is to set up windows in a virtual machine so that I can use programs
I have like SPL. That is all I will say on that end so as not to break any
rules, grin. Thanks for reading this.

Answering The iPhone While Already On A Call

2013-04-27 Thread Desi Noller
Hi Everyone,

I'm hoping that some of you do this a lot and can tell me how. When I'm
already on a call, and a second call comes in, on my iPhone 4S how can I answer
the second call without losing the first person altogether? The problem is
that this is something you really can't practice until you're needing to do it
successfully! Thanks in advance for any help with this!

Re: Answering The iPhone While Already On A Call

Hello. I put my phone out of speaker and quickly flick to end call and answer
and double tap it. It's not easy but it will work better if you are in ear buds.

Take care

Re: Update on my issue with user accounts.

2013-04-27 Thread Sarah k Alawami
Yeah i was afraid of that. I mean the installing the os as that's the only way
you could do the apple id thing in the first place. As for downloading it I
don't need to do that as I update my 8 gig flash drive with lion disk maker
after extracting the installesd.dmg file, putting it on to my desk top
formatting my flash drive as instructed and away I go.

Take care.

Hello all. After dealing with a very helpful person from apple care ,who

need sighted help for the wiping part.

Re: Converting mpeg II files to m4a or mp3?

2013-04-27 Thread Esther
Hi Sarah and Christian,

Easy Music Converter is supposed to be able to handle audio extractions from
MP2 to MP3 and M4A, but I haven't tried it, and I don't know of anyone who has.
I know that VoiceOver users have previously used the free MPEG Streamclip
application to extract audio tracks this way, and that's why I gave that link
in my reply. I'll give the Mac App Store URL for Easy Music Converter.
Christian, this app was very recently free for a few days, so a number of
people downloaded it, since it is designed to handle batch music conversions
and is supposed to support a wide variety of file types. Price has been
steadily going up since then, and is currently $7.99. I know that a few of the
specs don't exactly match the app description, such as the statement that it
will run in Snow Leopard (10.6.6 and above). Here's the link if you want it:
• Easy Music Converter (current price $7.99)
https://itunes.apple.com/app/easy-music-converter/id572507484?ls=1mt=12

Cheers,

Re: Converting mpeg II files to m4a or mp3?

2013-04-27 Thread Sarah k Alawami
I used easy music converter to convert from mp4 to mp3 and it works very very
quickly. 50 Mp4 files got converted in about 20 minutes. Maybe I was lucky but
It works very well. and one of them was about an hour long mp4 file to. lol!

 Hi Sarah and Christian,

Easy Music Converter is supposed to be able to handle audio extractions from
 MP2 to MP3 and M4A, but I haven't tried it, and I don't know of anyone who
has. I know that VoiceOver users have previously used the free MPEG
Streamclip application to extract audio tracks this way, and that's why I
gave that link in my reply. I'll give the Mac App Store URL for Easy Music
Converter. Christian, this app was very recently free for a few days, so a
number of people downloaded it, since it is designed to handle batch music
conversions and is supposed to support a wide variety of file types. Price
has been steadily going up since then, and is currently $7.99. I know that a
few of the specs don't exactly match the app description, such as the
statement that it will run in Snow Leopard (10.6.6 and above). Here's the
 link if you want it:

Has anyone an idea software I can use which is also useable with VO?

Hi there

I use ABBY fine reader and save as an rtf file, then read in text edit.
However, I find that sometimes ABBY converts the documents into columns.
This isn't an issue when reading in text edit, but is if you end up needing
to use MS Word.

I hope this helps

There was a service I had called pdf to rtf that would open pdfs in text edit
and you could then save them as rtf files.

that's all I can tell you though.

Good luck.

 Hi folks:

I am having the following problems with the two apps mentioned in the
subject: my Facebook online contacts are not loading anymore since last
tuesday. Sometimes some offline contacts appear on the screen and sometimes
not but the online contacts are not appearing any longer.

 Is anyone having this problem?

 Cheers.
