Re: PUG themes for 2018

My least favs:
Gathering: looks to me less inspiring.
Water: I think is too general as a subject.
Cold: I can only think of snow and ice (or a red nose but got my flue
shot already).

Re: PESO: Head of Turtle Minimalist

That certainly is minimalist! It would fit the PUG theme of the month --
less is more.

I like it very much. I agree that the twig enhances the image quite a
bit. Just the head alone would be too bland.

Re: PESO: Head of Turtle Minimalist

2017-11-05 Thread P. J. Alling
I think the head of the turtle is too centered, and it would be nearly
as minimalist if it were twice as large in the frame but easier to
recognize.

I think you are right about Dan's!

I have to say me too, to your other choices that are gorgeous photos and
clearly correct thematically.. but
those veggie closeups are stunning too.. well, really a small but
altogether pleasing gallery...

push comes to shove I love Pat's the most..

Re: November PUG is up

2017-11-05 Thread Daniel J. Matyola
It is a nice gallery, with several very interesting and pleasing
interpretations of the theme.

I also like Don's "Snowfog" a lot, but perhaps my favorite is "Wiggle" by
Brian Walters. Very minimalist, very well seen, and very well composed.
"At White Sands"
by Ken Waller is also outstanding, to my eye and my taste.

Still, it is a very interesting and pleasing view -- like the view from
Tour Eiffel.
