Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)
I'm debugging some issues reported to me that Orange Squeeze has with this (fantastic!) plugin and I've run into a bit of a stumper. Basically, I'm finding that when responding to json or CLI requests for subitems, the plugin seems to be ignoring the complete item_id filter. For example: This CLI request: 00:04:20:16:0f:2d spotify items 0 100 item_id:1.3 Actually returns the data that I would expect to be returned for this: 00:04:20:16:0f:2d spotify items 0 100 item_id:1.0 Trying to navigate down any other paths is an even more abject failure, with no results being returned for this: 00:04:20:16:0f:2d spotify items 0 100 item_id:2.0 Apparently, none of the other apps have this problem so I suspect that maybe Orange Squeeze is just one of the few apps still using json-rpc. The web interface works fine and I can confirm that, at least in the case of iPeng, the queries being routed through cometd seem to be working OK as well. In the longer term I'm sure a switch to using the comet-based protocol will be warranted, but I'm hoping to fix this issue for a maintenance release without making such a drastic change. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] WD MyBook Live NAS
I was having scanning problems on the My Book Live on which I did a clean install yesterday of LMS 7.7.1. This afternoon, I uninstalled LMS 7.7.1 and reinstalled it. Scanned again, several times, still no joy. Then, I did two things which resulted in (apparently) a full scan: 1. Created user squeezeboxserver and gave it full r/w access to the Public share (in which my music files are stored); and 2. Changed the path to the music files from /DataVolume/shares/Public/Shared Music to /shares/Public/Shared Music. I then ran a Clear Library and Scan Everything scan. I watched the scanning progress: about 22 minutes to scan 8400 music files. Scanned playlists. Got about halfway through Pre-caching Artwork and stalled on one album, finally terminating unexpectedly. Nonetheless, it appears that all my music files have been scanned. I did disable Pre-caching Artwork in Settings/Advanced. Let me add: I was previously running LMS 7.7.1 with no scanning problems on a Asus netbook (Ubuntu 11.04) on the same network. -- TimT TimT's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=22971 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84735 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Browse Menus - different behaviours
I have a selection of custom browse menus, all based originally on Erland's classical music suggestions. When I access these via the Touch (not the web interface) I see different behaviour patterns, and I am unsure why. Normally I use a laptop as my controller, but on occasions I use the Touch via its remote control. On some menus, pressing a letter on the remote skips to artists / conductors / composers starting with that letter. On others, it doesn't. On some menus, pressing + at some points (I'm not 100% clear on which ones and where) gives me the option of adding that track, or set of tracks, or album, to the playlist. On others it appears to show nothing when at any level other than track. I apologise that this is a bit vague. I haven't yet ascertained a pattern to the behaviour. Is there some fundamental difference between Touch menus based on standard tags, mixed tags, or custom tags, that I haven't understood? The three attached xml files (in one zip since the forum upload seems to fail with xml files) show Works by Composer, Works by WorkArtist (the prime Artist for a Work consisting of one or many tracks but not necessarily a whole Album), and Albums by Composer. The first does not support selection by single letter, the second does. Neither of the 1st two shows anything when I press + on the remote until I am at a single track level. The third menu allows use of a letter on the remote to find composer, and when at Album level supports + on the remote to add the whole album to the playlist. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Logitech Free Android App Issues - Since Upgrade to NAS
I just purchased a Synology 211j and have spent much of the week transferring my library and ensuring my Touch is looking in the right place for the music. Despite the relative slowness of the setup (wifi from NAS to touh but hardwired NAS into router) I am happy, however my logitech androiod app seems to have lost all its functionality since i swapped from Media Server on my laptop to squeeze center on NAS. I now only get offered options for Internet Radio and Advancedd, rather than any of the My Music etc functionality, any thoughts on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated -- stanleyk stanleyk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=53123 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92848 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The only one I've been using is the What's New and when it fails it always pulls up the first item of the What's New list instead of whatever was clicked. Presumably there is some caching going on in the plugin, because I don't see calls to Spotify on every click. Can I add some instrumentation to the cache layer to see if maybe we're getting some sort of key collision? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] WD MyBook Live NAS
The command: aptitude remove logitechmediaserver mysql-server mysql-client libmysqlclient-dev is actually removing four separate things: 1. logitechmediaserver 2. mysql-server 3. mysql-client 4. libmysqlclient-dev Since LMS now (if I understand correctly) uses SQLite instead of MySQL, it's not necessary to remove items 2 - 4 since they were removed when you scrubbed your old SMS version before installing LMS. The correct command for an uninstall of LMS, therefore, should be just: aptitude remove logitechmediaserver and then continue with the reinstall of LMS with wget and dpkg. I'm happy to report that I just finished doing exactly this on my MBL and it happily scanned all my new rips - granted it's just 700-odd tracks in 50-some albums, but it WASN'T finishing scans with SBS 7.6.1, and now (for one pass, at least) it IS. So ymmv, and in fact so may mine (we'll see what the scan does with the next batch of rips), but from my one datapoint 7.7.1 is an improvement. -- Kyrius Kyrius's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=53134 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84735 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
