[freenet-support] Freenet under Ubuntu

2008-03-17 Thread David Sowder
It looks like your freenet.jar is either missing or corrupt. Perhaps
running ./update.sh will fix that up for you.

[freenet-support] jSite insertions fail

2008-01-01 Thread David Sowder (Zothar)
Have you tried the latest jSite at
http://downloads.freenetproject.org/alpha/jSite/ ? I believe there was
a commit made recently that fixed a problem like the one you describe.

Where to extract the archive to is completely up to the program used to
unpack the archive. I believe both WinRAR and 7zip make that option
directly available.

You could, but you might consider putting it in a separate folder, maybe
"pyFreenet" in the same parent folder as the Freenet folder, though you
could put it just about anywhere.

You can rename the folder you extracted pyFreenet to as pyFreenet
doesn't generally care where it's installed.

By "In DOS", do you mean at the Windows XP Command Prompt? That
supports long filenames.

wrapper.log should be in the directory where Freenet was installed to.
I believe, on Mac OS X, this will be in a "freenet" folder living in

[freenet-support] Slow FProxy, Fedora 7/Java1.6

2007-06-10 Thread David Sowder (Zothar)
If both of your nodes are on the same private IP space, you'll want to
set "Include local addresses in noderef" to true in advanced
configuration mode and set "allowLocaAddresses" on the peer on the

I suspect the current real problem is that the node is not starting.
Check for a wrapper.log file in directory where Freenet was installed.
That should be able to tell us what went wrong.

You can verify that Freenet is not running by two methods:

./run.sh status

will tell you and

netstat -an |egrep -i "tcp.*"

will show one or more lines of output with LISTEN or LISTENING in them.

There's also the possibility that the node is running on a different
port, such as 8889, but the node node currently running is probably the
most common cause of this problem.

Any ideas on how using refbot.py could be made less heavy?

If you added your peers using http://127.0.0.1:/darknet/ then you'll
access Freenet through http://127.0.0.1:/ There is a bookmarked
Freesite on that page that you can start with.

My node seems to work properly but i can't access to the
http://127.0.0.1: page and Frost tell me my Freenet doesn't work
properly.

I tried to make a new install but it doesn't change. I have j2re1.4.2_08
Java.

Can somebody help me please ? Thanks.
