Maybe it's because unsubscribe information is contained in the message
headers and a message isn't opened? If you don't use message auto-view
you will have to open a message and use the Specials menu on the message
tool bar.

BatPost

2004-01-10 Thread Douglas Hinds

Hello fellow TB_Listers,

I intend to manage a mailing list and downloaded BatPost, RitLabs
email server.

Has anyone here used it?

What are it's strengths and limitations?

Will it handle subscription and do archives? If not, what will?
(Certain website software, I suppose).

Is a good option compared to other alternatives?

What is the appropriate source of support for it?

How important is the platform?

Are there other issues of which I should be aware?

TIA.

I already sent this once to TBOT and it came back in a visible form
but was apparently not visible to other TBOT subscribers, so I'm
coloring this one bright orange.

If I get no response the next one will be purple. -:)

I manage some lists with The Bat and ADR, Advanced Direct Remailer.
I don't know of anything better for my uses, but that's just me.

  http://www.mailutilities.com/adr/

I use it as my own personal, robust, SMTP server. I can write plugins
for outgoing mail, and manage complex mailing lists. It can get
addresses from flat files, databases, or anywhere. It can send mails
individually to people on a mailing list, they don't have to see a list
of all the other recipients. Configuration is simple and un-server-like.

Also, there is another one, whose name I would remember if I heard it.
If you are indeed interested in ADR and similar, I can find it for you.

 Right.
 Indeed, it's not working properly.
You-re comparing numbers as strings, don't you? :) Use %IFN instead of
%IF (don't even ask, this is not quite documented, AFAIK).

Thank you, it seems to work.

Address Book Bug?

2004-01-10 Thread Stuart Cuddy
Hello TBUDL,

Is it just me or does the Hide items if not specifically selected
option not work correctly. I created a folder that had this
selected, added names, and then decided not to keep this option so
that I would see the names in the main list, but it is not allowing
  me to do so.

I just realized that I have the same names in another group that has
the Hide items if not specifically selected option checked, so I
assume that this is what's causing them to not show up in the main
list. This leads to the question of what specifically selected
means. Checking it as a favorite does not work.

What I need is the 4 contacts in group 1 to show up in the main
address book, but not the other 20 that are in group 2.

Also when you select the address book by clicking on the To:, CC:,
or BCC: you get a list that includes everyone instead of the ones
  that aren't hidden.

Yes.

WRAPPED(Limit, Text)

You just have to be careful how you use it inside a QT when there many
other macros embedded in the same QT to get the results desired.
