[Bug 61946] Re: [Edgy Data Loss] umount progress dialog missing
OK. New proposal: Get http://ubuntu.lnix.net/misc/kio_umountwrapper and http://ubuntu.lnix.net/misc/media_safelyremove.desktop chmod +x kio_umountwrapper and copy to /usr/bin/ media_safelyremove.desktop replaces /usr/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/media_safelyremove.desktop (remember to backup). kio_umountwrapper is a simple kdialog shellscript that executed kio_media_mounthelper -s. Yes, I think that's all. However (and I'm not sure if I should file a seperate bug for this or not), the new 16x16 icons appear to be just resized while the old 16x16 icons seem to be manually tweaked so they look good at such a low resolution. [Bug 105384] [feisty] Poweroff and reboot not working
Public bug reported: My computer is unable to reboot or power off after I upgraded from edgy to feisty. That sounds like an issue with i810. I know that I have had that problem (with various other things, not directly with Desktop Effects) on an i810 setup with my Toshiba laptop. [Bug 105380] Serial port stops working after suspend
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.20-1-generic When my laptop wakes up after suspend, the serial port doesn't seem to work anymore. Programs can read from and write to it as before, but the data doesn't seem to be actually transmitted. I don't know of any way to check the status of the serial port. After searching Google, I saw other people mention that the serial port uses IRQ 4, and its entry disappears from /proc/interrupts. But in my case, it doesn't appear there in the first place. Also, the serial port driver is built into the kernel, and not compiled as a module. So I can't even try removing it and loading it again. [Bug 99356] Re: [Feisty] Keyboard repeats keystrokes like tttthiiiiiiiiiiiissss
Ok, so I have been debugging this and I have more to add With the latest current kernel (2.6.20.14) under normal boot up, this happens. So I tried starting it up in rescue mode and played around with some of the services to see which one was the culprit. The 2 services (start up scripts) that seem to effect it is a combination of acpid and dbus init scripts. If you dont start either one, then the problem goes away. if you start one and not the other, the problem goes away If you start both, the problem comes back, but only if acpid is started before the dbus init script (dbus before acpid doesn't cause the bug to appear) Also, acpid takes a very long time to start. the dbus init script then takes a long time to start on the hald portion. But, if the dbus script is started before the acpid script, then it starts normaly, and it doesn't pause on starting hald. I'm not sure where the bug lies in acpid or the dbus init scripts, but if you reverse the start order, the problem goes away. -- [Feisty] Keyboard repeats keystrokes like h https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/99356 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
