Re: [Bug 61463] Re: Script that are using bash could be broken with the new symlink
Once again I feel the need to point out that this change is no worse than upgrading from XFree to X.org, or from GCC2/3 to GCC3/4. Those changes also "broke"* many existing programs, build processes, and scripts, but we made them for the greater good. * "broke" in this context meaning "exposed existing previously-hidden brokenness in". [Bug 104809] Re: Freezes and data loss after upgrade from 2.6.20-12 to 2.6.20-13 and 2.6.20-13 (sata_via)
I've just found out that this problem also occurs on 2.6.20-12. I'm writing this using a feisty i386-install on the same HD (the filesystem of the root-partition of my amd64-install is too damaged now i.e. it doesn't boot anymore)) Such errors and freezes only occur if I access (mount from the i386-install) the root partition of the amd64-feisty-install. Trying to install edubuntu dapper on another newly created partition nearby the root-partition gave me similiar error-msgs in the log. I ran all kind of tests using Hitachi's Drive Fitness Test and it tells me that everything is ok (I still don't believe it, as of now). As this problem doesn't seem to be directly related to any kernel upgrade, I'll close this bug. [Bug 78252] Re: "Happy Gnome" theme shows a face browser
This upload fixes the bug: gdm (2.18.1-0ubuntu1) feisty; urgency=low . * New upstream version: - The GDM configuration option daemon/PidFile is now deprecated and GDM now always uses /var/run/gdm.pid. The location can be configured at compile time with the configure --with-pid-file option. This fixes bug #162849. - Now GDM supports Xephyr as the Nested Xserver command. GDM will use Xephyr by default if it is on the system, and fallback to Xnest. Xephyr works much better than Xnest. - GDM application desktop files now use the correct categories, so the menu choices should appear in the correct place in the menu. - Remove the userlist from the circles and happygnome themes since this was causing problems for some users. This change will go into 2.20 where we are fixing the problem better by fixing gdmsetup to support setting the configuration so that gdmlogin and gdmgreeter work the same way with the Browser key. - Now gdmgreeter has an ATK label for the entry field. - Fix check so language combo style works. Fixes bug #423063. - Now "Configure GDM" menu choice is not available when accessibility is turned on since running gdmsetup in this configuration causes GDM to hang. Until the hanging bug is fixed, it's better to not allow the user to get into this situation. - Now support XnestUnscaledFontPath configuration option, which allows GDM to work with Xnest. Xorg 7.2 XGetFontPath function now returns fontpath with the ":unscaled" prefix, which Xsun Xnest cannot handle. Setting XnestUnscaledFontPath=false, will strip the ":unscaled" prefix from the fontpath so that it can work. - GDM daemon no longer links with D-Bus if ConsoleKit is not enabled. - Translation updates * debian/patches/01_xconfigoptions.patch, debian/patches/02_default_config.patch, debian/patches/04_menu_changes.patch, debian/patches/10_noxkeepcrashing.patch: - updated * debian/patches/06_no_conffile_diff_due_to_comment_change.patch: - don't change comments to gdm.conf-custom to not get a conffile change on upgrade (Ubuntu: #92302) ** Changed in: gdm (Ubuntu) Status: Fix Committed => Fix Released -- "Happy Gnome" theme shows a face browser https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/78252 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 105259] Re: Not all scaling governors are supported
Apparantly I can select the conservative and ondemand governors without problems, so I don't think there is a problem with HAL for that. Originally it 'crashed' around line 300 at: self.systray.actionCollection().action(actualFreq).setChecked(True) This was because my own policy 'conservative' was set but not supported in guidance-power-manager, so it tried to find control 'conservative' and failed, throwing an exception.
