[Bug 534313] [NEW] Kernel 2.6.31-19-generic Fails to boot with Kernel panic - not syncing: Out of memory and not killable.
Public bug reported: After upgrading from 9.04 to 9.10 in december 2009 my system rebooted with this error. I am still able to use the 2.6.28-17-generic kernel. [Bug 497345] Re: gs extremely slow to print more 1 page
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 419143 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/419143 I can reproduce this bug already without CUPS, by opening your PDF file, printing it into a PDF file (evince re-renders the file instead of simply passing it through, blowing it up from 97K to 1300K) and then letting Ghostscript render it with the command line you have posted here: cat ST.00052-evince.pdf | time gs -dFirstPage=1 -q -dBATCH -dPARANOIDSAFER -dQUIET -dNOPAUSE -sDEVICE=ijs -sIjsServer=hpijs -dDEVICEWIDTHPOINTS=595 -dDEVICEHEIGHTPOINTS=842 -sDeviceManufacturer =HEWLETT-PACKARD -sDeviceModel='hp LaserJet 1010' -dDuplex=false -r600 -sIjsParams=Quality:Quality=0,Quality:ColorMode=0,Quality:MediaType=0,Quality:PenSet=0,PS:MediaPosition=7 -dIjsUseOutputFD -sOutputFile=- -_ out.pxl This takes more than 9 minutes on my laptop, whereas feeding your original file directly into Ghostscript does the job in less than a second. [Bug 450260] Re: grub-probe fails with btrfs root (and ext3 /boot)
Well since everyone seems pretty much fixed on the idea that static GRUB_DEVICE and GRUB_DEVICE_UUID entries are ok, just have two posing questions. How do you suppose we get those entries there in the first place? What would we do in the event that a UUID changes (if unlikely, I know :) ? Or are we just going to leave that up to the distribution/user to figure out, afterall btrfs is still not production ready, and it is still technically the fault of btrfs not exporting it's internal relationships between physical and virtual devices that we have this problem in the first place. For the time being, however, I have my eyes pinned here: http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.file-systems.btrfs/2856 This seems like a sound idea, but may chime in saying I would still rather LVM-style /dev/mapper locations. OK, setting back to confirmed... maybe this is the more appropriate as triaged is clearly inappropriate: Buttons artwork is so more symetric, so changing gconf makes this look very bad. So the solution may be to change buttons to make them symetric again for users being able to change default behaviour withous artifact... or making a second theme that is coherent, that could be chosen at install. [Bug 427890] Re: o2 micro memory card reader sdhci problem
So it's been a few months since the last post. Any solutions? Currently i'm hesitating complete ( cold turkey ;) ) switch just because of this thing. The rest of my hardware is very well supported, but this makes the card reader i use very often completely useless. I believe many Acer and other laptops use this kind of card readers (O2 Micro). ** Tags added: 9.10 acer card karmic kernel laptop linux micro mmc o2 reader sd xd -- o2 micro memory card reader sdhci problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/427890 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
