[Bug 493575] Re: Buildbot master generates a setupBuild exception when attempting to run a builder

2010-09-11 Thread Yagisan
To be honest, I needed a continuous integration system to be deployed,
and instead of fiddling around with buildbot, I replaced it with hudson
( which I wish was in ubuntu ... ) and shipped it, so I never got around
to having another go with buildbot.

[Bug 636201] [NEW] iTunes 10 wil not display song list mt-daapd

2010-09-11 Thread Mike Ryan
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mt-daapd

Ubuntu release: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Package version: 0.9~r1696.dfsg-15build2
Expected behavior: iTunes 10 connects to mt-daapd, fetches a list of songs, and
displays them
Actual behavior: iTunes 10 connects to mt-daapd, fetches a list of songs, but
does not display them

Note: iTunes 9.2 (and prior) are not affected

A fix is described (with a patch) at this page:
http://tutorial.downloadatoz.com/how-to-fix-itunes-10-break-firefly-mt-daapd.html

The dpatch file is attached. I have successfully built and tested a .deb
with the patch.

[Bug 80365] Re: [master] ASX files that don't play

2010-09-11 Thread Shahin
Trying to play a *.asx file I get the message: „GstDecodeBin2:This appears to
be a text file.“
It seems that asx files which contain a dynamic link produce this message. I
can play the same file in “Windows Media player” immediately! In Ubuntu I have
installed all codecs. It did not help. Neither Totem nor VLC is able to stream
the file.

[Bug 636195] [NEW] Autofs for LDAP doesn't contain ldif file

2010-09-11 Thread infestator
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: autofs5-ldap

Configuration of slapd is directory based and ldapadd is not able to add
'.schema' files to LDAP configuration tree. To find out the way I can
add schema file into LDAP I wasted a lot of time for googleing. I think
it is not a very big problem and not a lot of work to add autofs.ldif
file to autofs5-ldap package to be able quickly setup LDAP for it
without additional googleing for special scripts.

I supplied autofs.ldif file in attachment.

Thanks!

Could there be two bugs? Two guys came up to me at Ohio LinuxFest today
saying it worked perfectly for them and asking me to find a way to get a patch
merged, and there are comments on here saying it works correctly in Maverick

[Bug 636191] [NEW] Gnome desktop crashed successively

2010-09-11 Thread Atalanttore
Public bug reported:

I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 x64 with latest updates.

The Gnome desktop crashed just now and it happened successively. At
first it crashed Firefox 3.6, then the clock applet and after an
unsuccessful attempt to restore the entire gnome-panel. Some seconds
later I was on the console, but had no cursor to type some commands. In
the end I did a restart.

[Bug 474607] Re: ubuntu 9.10 'not' multi-booting mandriva family

2010-09-11 Thread hansie
The reason and the bases of the problem is very simple:
1. Ubuntu now uses 'Grub2'
2. PCLOS still uses 'Legacy Grub'
The problem then applies to all 'Legacy Grub' and 'Grub2' distros; since their
'configuration' files do have different names - and reside in different
locations - unkwnown and unsuspected to the 'booting' distro!!
Thanks!!

There are lot's of similar bug reports which seem to stem from the same problem.
I found that killerkind (Bug #616986) reported it earliest and marked all
similar bugs as duplicates.

Feel free to change it back if you think I was wrong.

server, also. I have resolved this problem, however, by downloading the
latest stable release (0.9.12) of x11vnc
(http://www.karlrunge.com/x11vnc/) and building it from source. The
latest version of x11vnc attempts to reopen after gdm kills all
connected clients. The version currently in the repo does not.

It would seem that the gdm option "KillInitClients=false" is no longer
supported, which would have been a viable workaround for this issue.

Re: [Bug 380471] Re: Movie Player crashes the system

2010-09-11 Thread Larry Pearson
Usually. I always have to restart the computer. Once the screen didn't go
black or blank. Instead the window manager seemed to get confused and
clicking on items with the mouse had no effect, I could still change
workspaces, but I couldn't change tabs in the browser.

More information:
I have also experienced this cash while running the XP guest after
installation. Most frequently it happens when moving the mouse into or out of
the console window, but I've also had it happen when clicking various menu
items and once when it was just sitting there, with no input at all.

[Bug 294822] Re: [intrepid] Logitech MX900 bluetooth mouse - cursor 'jerky'

2010-09-11 Thread Jay Mac
This problem still exists in Lucid 10.04.

The Logitech MX900 mouse used to work OK but is now so jerky that's it's
unusable. Common workarounds mentioned on the internet about this
problem refer to config settings that no longer seem to exist in Lucid.

[Bug 635181] Re: High load average on Lucid for nominal/idle system use

I am uploading a sar -P (load average) for another VM I have. Violet was
kept unused with only one running application (terminal) and no other
running programs.During the time of the sar captures, the system was
kept unused. I would expect that a load average of 0.00 or 0.10 might
be expected for lavg1.

[Bug 636170] [NEW] Tomboy gets error 500 from U1 servers during Sync

2010-09-11 Thread Talia
Public bug reported:

I'm filing this on behalf of another user, as I just ran into this error
myself, and reproduced similar output with a debug of my own.

Tomboy was able to sync for me once, but not again. I removed the
machine from my one profile, removed all of my notes from tomboy,
removed and reinstalled tomboy from the software center, set up the sync
again, and still have no luck.

The sync window tells me that it failed, but if I expand the window it
shows that all notes are synced. However, on the one dashboard, it says
I've only got 3 notes (instead of 60), but none of them show up when I
click the "notes" link.

I ran tomboy from the terminal with the --debug option, but I don't
really know what to make of the output. It looks like a server error,
but that's happening every time I've tried it over the last couple of
weeks.

I'd really like to get tomboy to sync to one. Any help?

[Bug 578395] Re: jpg corruption of large images

2010-09-11 Thread madbiologist
What make and model is your monitor? Is it a CRT or an LCD? What
resolution are you running it at? Does this still occur if you boot
with a different monitor connected?

Does this still occur with the Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" beta Live
CD? If you test this, before testing please reload the package
information and then update libcairo2, libpixman-1-0, xulrunner-1.9.2,
xserver-xorg-video-ati and xserver-xorg-video-radeon. You may also wish
to optionally upgrade apport, apport-gtk and python-apport.

Re: [Bug 631438] Re: xulrunner-bin crashed with SIGSEGV

2010-09-11 Thread Micah Gersten
Well, it seems like you might have some package from -proposed
installed. The retracer does not have debugging symbols for these, so
for those packages, yes, you are being asked to downgrade if you'd
like the crash retraced automatically. Also, xulrunner was upgraded
since you reported the crash. Perhaps your issue has been fixed.

[Bug 439448] Re: visual corruption affecting several panel applets

2010-09-11 Thread Chauncellor
Great idea, Mal.

I'd love to try it out myself but it looks like it's no longer affecting
me. I've reverted my workaround for kicks after all this time and I get
basically no corruption anymore. Nor do I really have access to a
machine that has corruption regularly enough - They all happen
(painfully for testing) too sparingly for me.
