[Bug 806231] Re: Conflicts with lsh-server
lsh-server isn't installed by default. [Bug 806231] Re: Conflicts with lsh-server
Thanks for reporting this bug. This same issue exists with dropbear aswell. There is a fight to see which sshd binds first to 22. However, I was able to have dropbear, lsh-server and openssh installed concurrently without dpkg configuring failure. The only issue was that it was not clear which sshd had won the fight. [Bug 810977] [NEW] slapd remove/reinstall fails
Public bug reported: Description:Ubuntu 11.04 Release:11.04 package slapd version 2.4.23-6ubuntu6 Problem sounds like Bug #798946 but recommended solution doesn't word. So I publish my problem as new bug. First install of slapd works fine. Then I try to remove the openLDAP completly (to remove also basic databank settings). I beg your pardon, you are absolutely correct that it is not installed by default. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It would appear that another process had locked /var/cache/debconf/config.dat when you tried to upgrade your system. fuser -v /var/cache/debconf/config.dat will return the locking process if any - try killing it and try performing the upgrade again. Most often, this is only a transient situation and fuser will return nothing. Simply performing the update again should solve this issue. [Bug 781088] Re: Time is not syncronized with NTP-server
@brawehear: no, it should not. The ntp.drift is a (continuously updated) measure of how much your system's hardware clock deviates from time sources (the NTP servers, or a real precise clock attached to the machine) -- in other words, how much your hardware clock _drifts_ from reliable clock sources. The calculated value is used to adjust the clock when no time servers can be contacted. NTP server addresses are stored in /etc/ntp.conf. @gerti: 1. I shouldn't need the NTP-daemon, as I don't want to run a NTP- service for other machines om my network. Well, this is just *one* reason to run NTP (as opposed to ntpdate only). The other -- and, in my view, much more important -- reason is to keep your machine as much as possible time-synchronised. If you just use ntpdate your clock will (slowly, but surely) drift from the correct time. How much and how fast depends on a lot of factors, including how long since last sync, thermal variances on the computer, quality of the computer hardware clock source, etc. Additionally, every time you manually (or via cron) run ntpdate to adjust your time you will get a sudden jump in clock time -- which may cause problems to other programmes. 2. I reported, that my completely raw (i.e. non-update) 11.4 Ubuntu did not adjust the clock correctly. We have released updates to NTP on 11.04. You *need* to apply them for us to be able to verify your issue. Neither Clint, nor I, can reproduce it on up-to-date 11.04. Unless you tell us more details (including what did not work, with output of commands, there is not much we can do. When do we want that to happen? - 11.10 Ensemble in Universe, problem, ensemble is rapidly developing how to deal with updates. Ensemble can't be frozen past a stable release. We need to deploy new features for the project to be successful. Two possible approaches: - Use a PPA (simpler, works well) - Do SRUs every month or so (much more heavy weight, apparently unnecessary) We'll probably be going with the second option. 2. What do we need to get done for this to happen? Needed dependencies: - txzookeeper (not packaged yet) - txaws (must be upgraded) - zookeeper (needs patches which were already pushed upstream) 3. Strategies for upgrading? 4. Etc. Sample interaction with Ensemble: $ ensemble bootstrap # Creates some files in ~/.ensemble/ $ ensemble bootstrap # Creates the first instance of Ensemble on EC2 $ ensemble deploy wordpress $ ensemble deploy mysql $ ensemble add-relation wordpress mysql This requires AWS credentials in the environment. The mysql instance can be reused across services. Tasks --- - [niemeyer] Ensemble Daily PPA. [Bug 811273] [NEW] FTBFS due to libpng (and lesser libjpeg)
Public bug reported: As described here: http://www.nigeldunn.com/2011/05/14/ubuntu-11-04-libjpeg-so-libpng-so-php-installation-issues/ There is no proper fix yet for libpng - just manually symlinking, which is bad. For libjpeg, I was able to use the libjpeg8-dev package and that resolved it. I believe this is a multiarch issue, and I am not sure if Ubuntu can provide a fix (perhaps drop a symlink in the right places through libpng-dev?) or push/suggest the right way for PHP to detect the library location. ** Affects: php5 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: ftbfs libpng -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/811273 Title: FTBFS due to libpng (and lesser libjpeg) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php5/+bug/811273/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
