[Bug 798086] Re: Occasional The disk drive for /dev/mapper/cryptswap1 is not ready yet or not present on system startup
Hello All, This issue seems to occur when: you have installed Ubuntu _from_ a bootable USB device you have installed Ubuntu _to_ a bootable USB device you have changed disks layout in your machine (i.e. add/remove/switch a disk) When booting from USB, the /dev/sd or /dev/hd device enumeration is not the same as which you will get when booting in the normal environment. When changing the disk layout (add/remove/switch hard disks), the enumeration could be also altered. For example, While installing from DVD to USB removable disk, your swap partition was identified as /dev/sda7. But, on normal boot, just after install, your swap partition is identified as /dev/sdd7. It should not be an issue considering that almost all partitions (/, /boot, /var, etc.) are identified by their UUID. That's why your installation achieve the boot process without any issue in this case... However, UUID identification method cannot apply to your encrypted swap partition as it is fully encrypted, boot record included... So, in our example, you just have to edit /etc/crypttab and substitute /dev/sdXX identification with the right one OR with hard disk device identification (/dev/disk/by-id). In my case: /etc/crypttab file # target name source device key file options # ORIGINAL CONFIG: cryptswap1 /dev/sda7 /dev/urandom swap,cipher=aes-cbc-essiv:sha256 cryptswap1 /dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SFreecom_Mobile_Drive_XX801130168383-part7 /dev/urandom swap,cipher=aes-cbc-essiv:sha256 This workaround is particularly useful in a removable installation scenario. Hope this can help dev team to solve this issue. This appears to be hitting me as well with a Canon Ixus 310HS (interestingly, I had this same model before with no issues, then had to replace it and now I do). Reported here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/+bug/1096463 Please let me know if any log files or similar would assist. On 12.10 I get the lock error, on 12.04 it seems to hang on import after a few files in Shotwell. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/910964 Title: Cannot import photos from PTP Camera (Fuji X10) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/libgphoto/+bug/910964/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1075251] Re: package mysql-server-5.5 5.5.28-0ubuntu0.12.04.2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Noting that I had this problem too... and like wannabeelinux my mysql datadir was non-default. MySQL runs just fine pre-update (with some tweaking of the apparmor directory access config), but it's possible that the upgrade script assumes a datadir location. I have it simlinked to the default directory for convenience, so it's possible that a test for /var/lib/mysql passes even though the actual data is elsewhere (on another filesystem). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1075251 Title: package mysql-server-5.5 5.5.28-0ubuntu0.12.04.2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.5/+bug/1075251/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1096853] Re: Wi-Fi disconnects then cannot connect to any network -- Broadcom BCM43224 bcma
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: I start my laptop, the network connects and I can use it well. Then after some time (hours, or days) the WIFI disconnects and can't connect to the network, nor any other WIFI network. The ethernet works fine however. There is a kworker process that hangs on CPU. NM asks me the WIFI key several times, and does not success in connecting the network. I then need to reboot my computer, as any service network-manager restart or service networking restart does not work. dmesg contains informations about an exception, I copied it in the attached .txt . Those lines are repeated several times. I think there are two bugs : - One in the WIFI driver that prevents connecting to the network - One in the network-manager that does not understand there is an internal bug and keeps trying to reconnect, while asking me the keyphrase. NM should know that the last connection failes because of an internal failure.
