I had this problem on Ubuntu 12.10 using evolution 3.6.0-0ubuntu3, with
libmapi0 1.0-2.

Installing libmapi0 1.0-4 from the link mention in post #24 above solved
the problem. Pleasantly, I just did a straight install over the top of
the existing version, via dpkg -i, there were no dependency problems.

[Bug 1099371] [NEW] make-kpkg strips modules when CONFIG_MODULE_SIG is set, breaking crypto sigs

2013-01-14 Thread Chris Samuel
Public bug reported:

Problem:

When using make-kpkg to build a current mainline kernel with
CONFIG_MODULE_SIG to enable cryptographically signed modules the
resulting kernel, when installed and booted, will be tainted immediately
upon loading any module, and all modules will appear to have been force
loaded.

This is the result of make-kpkg unconditionally passing
INSTALL_MOD_STRIP=1 when installing modules into its tree for packaging,
resulting in their cryptographic signatures being stripped and so
failing verification with -ENOKEY.

Fix:

make-kpkg should not pass INSTALL_MOD_STRIP=1 if CONFIG_MODULE_SIG is
set.

[Bug 1077650] Re: booting from raid in degraded mode ends in endless loop

2013-01-14 Thread Bernd Schubert
I'm not so sure about that, without bootdegraded=yes it drops me to the shell
and I only need to exit from that shell to continue to boot - the md-raid is
already assembled then.
I really don't see a reason why the boot script should assemble differently
with or without bootdegraded=yes. If at all, it only should check for failed
devices if bootdegraded=no. And I also really think the hole boot-to-shell
should be given up at all in favour of a GUI pop-up.

of logic as wpasupplicant instead of just looking at whether a driver
reports signal over nl80211 to decide whether to use that or fallback
to wext. (LP: #1035590)
  * debian/patches/ipw2x00-no-nl80211.patch: replaced by the patch above.
  * debian/patches/git_ignore_ipconfig_dups_cca4052.patch: silently ignore
duplicates in NMIP[46]Config objects; which tends to happen fairly
regularly with RDNSS. (LP: #996032)
  * debian/patches/nm-ipv6-route-cache.patch: don't re-add routes we receive
from kernel notifications to the routing table if they have the
RTM_F_CLONED flag; since that means they're host routes used temporarily
by the kernel to reach a specific destination; keeping them would cause at
least issues with VPNs, and possibly confusion with routing daemons.
Thanks to Ben Jenks for the patch. (LP: #1038541)
  * debian/ifblacklist_migrate.sh: make sure that iface X inet6 entries added
by d-i also get commented out if set up for dhcp or auto -- this follows
what is already done for IPv4, where such devices should be handled by
NetworkManager. This fixes issues where people installing using d-i and
where IPv6 autoconfiguration is available would get their interfaces
ignored by NetworkManager when installing desktop. (LP: #995165)

[Bug 798086] Re: Occasional The disk drive for /dev/mapper/cryptswap1 is not ready yet or not present on system startup

2013-01-14 Thread Akatrus
Hello All,

This issue seems to occur when:
you have installed Ubuntu _from_ a bootable USB device
you have installed Ubuntu _to_ a bootable USB device
you have changed disks layout in your machine (i.e. add/remove/switch a
disk)

When booting from USB, the /dev/sd or /dev/hd device enumeration is not the
same as which you will get when booting in the normal environment.

When changing the disk layout (add/remove/switch hard disks), the
enumeration could be also altered.

For example,

While installing from DVD to USB removable disk, your swap partition was
identified as /dev/sda7.
But, on normal boot, just after install, your swap partition is identified as
/dev/sdd7.

It should not be an issue considering that almost all partitions (/, /boot,
/var, etc.) are identified by their UUID.
That's why your installation achieve the boot process without any issue in this
case...

However, UUID identification method cannot apply to your encrypted swap
partition as it is fully encrypted, boot record included...

So, in our example, you just have to edit /etc/crypttab and substitute
/dev/sdXX identification with the right one OR with hard disk device
identification (/dev/disk/by-id).

In my case:

/etc/crypttab file

# target name source device key file options
# ORIGINAL CONFIG: cryptswap1 /dev/sda7 /dev/urandom
swap,cipher=aes-cbc-essiv:sha256
cryptswap1 /dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SFreecom_Mobile_Drive_XX801130168383-part7
/dev/urandom swap,cipher=aes-cbc-essiv:sha256

This workaround is particularly useful in a removable installation
scenario.

Hope this can help dev team to solve this issue.

Aktarus

[Bug 1050509] Re: Duplicity doesn't handle non-utf8 filenames well

2013-01-14 Thread Ibanez
I've a workaround,

You can change the session language before call to duplicity

declare -x LANG=en_US.UTF-8

It work for me, my default LANG is es_ES.UTF-8, and duplicity fails.
With en_US.UTF-8 works.

[Bug 910964] Re: Cannot import photos from PTP Camera (Fuji X10)

2013-01-14 Thread Aaron Whitehouse
This appears to be hitting me as well with a Canon Ixus 310HS (interestingly, I
had this same model before with no issues, then had to replace it and now I
do). Reported here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/+bug/1096463

Please let me know if any log files or similar would assist. On 12.10 I
get the lock error, on 12.04 it seems to hang on import after a few
files in Shotwell.

Yes, but it is pre-release hardware, so maybe the BIOS/UEFI might not be
the final version. If you like, we can wait and see if the problem is
 corrected in later BIOS/UEFI versions.

Yes, I'm sure that it's a problem of early BIOS/UEFI version.
At least it's worth to report HP about it.

I was thinking that this patch does not hurt anyway.

I'm fine to apply, but wonder whether it's really a target for stable
kernel (unless the device is already in market).

If yes, could you give alsa-info.sh output?

[Bug 91389] Re: Please add support for more than one VPN simultaneously

2013-01-14 Thread Christian Weiske
With 12.10 (network-manager 0.9.6), you can connect to multiple VPNs using the
network settings:
- System settings (gnome-control-center)
- Network
- Select each VPN and set it to on.

So Network manager is able to connect multiple VPNs, but the systray
menu not.

Is there any real machine showing this bug?

Yes, but it is pre-release hardware, so maybe the BIOS/UEFI might not be
the final version. If you like, we can wait and see if the problem is
corrected in later BIOS/UEFI versions.

I was thinking that this patch does not hurt anyway.

If yes, could you give alsa-info.sh output?

[Bug 1075251] Re: package mysql-server-5.5 5.5.28-0ubuntu0.12.04.2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2013-01-14 Thread Oh the Huge Manatee
Noting that I had this problem too... and like wannabeelinux my mysql
datadir was non-default.

MySQL runs just fine pre-update (with some tweaking of the apparmor
directory access config), but it's possible that the upgrade script
assumes a datadir location. I have it simlinked to the default directory
for convenience, so it's possible that a test for /var/lib/mysql passes
even though the actual data is elsewhere (on another filesystem).

[Bug 1096853] Re: Wi-Fi disconnects then cannot connect to any network -- Broadcom BCM43224 bcma

2013-01-14 Thread guillaume le louet
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

I start my laptop, the network connects and I can use it well.

Then after some time (hours, or days) the WIFI disconnects and can't
connect to the network, nor any other WIFI network. The ethernet works
  fine however.

There is a kworker process that hangs on CPU. NM asks me the WIFI key
several times, and does not success in connecting the network.

I then need to reboot my computer, as any service network-manager
restart or service networking restart does not work.

dmesg contains informations about an exception, I copied it in the
attached .txt . Those lines are repeated several times.

I think there are two bugs :
   - One in the WIFI driver that prevents connecting to the network
   - One in the network-manager that does not understand there is an internal
bug and keeps trying to reconnect, while asking me the keyphrase. NM should
know that the last connection failes because of an internal failure.
