[Bug 1602120] [NEW] Thunderbird - When Autosave is Enabled - Autosave files are not deleted when the emal is sent
Public bug reported: Galago-UltraPro:~$ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 16.04 LTS Release:16.04 UltraPro:~$ apt-cache policy thunderbird thunderbird: Installed: 1:38.8.0+build1-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 Candidate: 1:38.8.0+build1-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 Version table: *** 1:38.8.0+build1-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 500 500 http://mirror.overthewire.com.au/ubuntu xenial-updates/main amd64 Packages 500 http://mirror.overthewire.com.au/ubuntu xenial-security/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1:38.6.0+build1-0ubuntu1 500 500 http://mirror.overthewire.com.au/ubuntu xenial/main amd64 Packages I have Thunderbird configured to "Autosave" every 5 minutes. (I believe that this is the default configuration for Thunderbird.) When writing an email, if the email is written and sent within the initial 5 minutes (i.e. less than the Autosave period), no autosave files are retained in the "Drafts" folder after the email is sent. This I understand to be the correct and desired functionality. However, if the writing of the email takes longer that the Autosave time period, (i.e. longer than 5 minutesin the default configuration) the Autosave temporary files that are saved in the "Drafts" folder on Thunderbird are NOT deleted automatically when the email is sent. This leads to a situation where, after a period of normal use of Thunderbird, the Thunderbird "Drafts" folder will contain multiple copies of the Autosave temporary files for many emails. There appears to be no configuration option in Thunderbird that would force the Autosave temporary files to be deleted, once each email has been sent. As a result, I assume that a BUG exists in which the Autosave temporary files fail to be deleted automatically when the related email is completed and sent. [Bug 1531768] Re: [arm64] lockups some time after booting
lxd-armhf1 (on swirlix01) has run without any lockup since the host kernel update to 4.4. I created a new lxd-armhf2 yesterday (on swirlix08) which also survived without any workaround. At the same time I created a new lxd-armhf3 (on swirlix16) which has locked up pretty well every < 15 minutes (I got a ton of watchdog reboot messages over the night). I deployed the "rcu_nocb_poll rcutree.kthread_prio=90 rcuperf.verbose=1" thing on that now. I also asked #is about the host kernels. My suspicion is that swirlix{01,08} got updated to 4.4 while swirlix16 is still running an older one. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1531768 Title: [arm64] lockups some time after booting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/auto-package-testing/+bug/1531768/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1601820] Re: ovs-vsctl is hanging
Hi, "ovs-vsctl show" can display only the DB config entries - so that show works is no guarantee that it is actually running. In case it is not running the described behavior occurs. If you just want to go on configuring (without actually starting the vswitch) you can add --no-wait to the ovs-vsctl commands (http://openvswitch.org/support/dist-docs/ovs-vsctl.8.txt). But eventually you want to find out why it isn't running to begin with. I recommend checking the logs, I just added a section on troubleshooting but it is not yet in the published serverguide (https://help.ubuntu.com/16.04/serverguide/DPDK.html). Until it is published I recommend this for troubleshooting: http://askubuntu.com/questions/786510/using-openvswitch-with-dpdk-in-ubuntu-16-04/789203#789203 ** Package changed: dpdk (Ubuntu) => openvswitch (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: openvswitch (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1601820 Title: ovs-vsctl is hanging To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openvswitch/+bug/1601820/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1600090] Re: [SRU] New stable micro release 2.12.1
I'm marking this as verified now. I inspected the branch for the pkgconfig, and confirmed that snapcraft 2.12.1 is patching the file as described in the branch. Also, the pantheon snap now passes the "Checking for modules" step, which means that it is now finding the granite library. It now fails in a different place mentioning that granite is not found in the Vala API or GIR directories. That seems to me a completely different issue, that probably needs to be fixed in the snap or in a part, not in snapcraft. Thanks Brian for helping with this SRU! [Bug 1602097] [NEW] X lockup while playing a video (VDPAU)
Public bug reported: While playing a video with mpv, X locked up entirely (not even mouse movement did anything). Even kill -9 won't kill the X server, although /etc/init.d/sddm restart did get the video card to text mode. (But the Xorg process is stuck in state D.) Unfortunately this means I couldn't get a stack backtrace from Xorg, since gdb hangs while trying to attach. This is the first time I've seen this flavour of lockup, and it happened soon after booting the latest kernel update for 15.10 (linux- image-4.2.0-41-g 4.2.0-41.48 amd64). (So this might actually be a DRM bug, but I'm reporting it on a graphics-specific package so the right people can see it and migrate it where it needs to go). My hardware is an ATI HD4670, on an Intel c2duo (E6600) desktop (dg965wh motherboard). Both DVI outputs are in use, one for a 1680x1050 and the other for a 1920x1200 LCD. [Bug 1602098] [NEW] Merge or declare relationship with unity-greeter-badges
Public bug reported: Hello! I maintain the unity-greeter-badges package, which contains quite a few badges for various window managers and desktop environments. As suggested by Jeremy Bicha in [1], I would like to inquire whether it would be possible to either: (a) merge the badges from the unity-greeter-badges package into unity- greeter or (b) declare a Recommends or Suggests relationship on unity-greeter- badges This would make it easier for users of these window managers and desktop environments to acquire the appropriate badges for Unity Greeter, without needing to learn about the unity-greeter-badges package somehow and explicitly installing it. Thank you! [Bug 1600090] Re: [SRU] New stable micro release 2.12.1
Tested in an up-to-date xenial: Installed snapcraft 2.12 Enabled -proposed. Upgraded to 2.12.1 go plugin: ✓ Build a snap with the snapcraft.yaml in the same branch as the source. ✓ Build a snap with the snapcraft.yaml in a different branch, pulling the source. ✓ Build a snap without go-importpath, check the warning message. pkg-config: ✗ Build mhall's pantheon snap from bug #1595243. python3 plugin: ✓ Build a snap with an entry_point. (Reported bug #1602079 because this is missing an automated test. Not a blocker though because I ran the test manually in this release.) qmake plugin: ✓ Build pbek's qownnotes from https://github.com/ubuntu/snappy-playpen/issues/145 (The snap is still failing because of a conflict in the env part. That's not a snapcraft error, and the qmake part builds correctly now) parts: ✓ Build a snap with a cloud part, without running snapcraft update first. ✓ Update the parts cache, try to update it again, check that the second time it's not downloaded. ✓ Update the parts cache, change the wiki parts, update the cache again. store: ✓ Upload a snap, check the progress bar and successful message. ✓ Upload a snap that requires a manual review. ✓ Try to upload a snap not registered. ✓ Try to register a snap already registered. ✓ Try to register a reserved snap. ✓ Try to register two snaps in a minute. exploratory: ✓ Run various commands that will result in error messages, check that the message is not wrapped. ✓ Run things with downloads (snap from the store, part from the wiki, source from github), check the progress bar. other bugs found during testing: - bug #1596779: the error when trying to register a snap without signing the agreement is worse than before. High priority, has to be fixed in the next release. - bug #1602091: the error when trying to register a snap that I already registered is not great. Medium priority. - bug #1602094: no clear way to solve the missing short namespace on upload. Medium priority. - bug #1602095: the manual review error needs to be improved. No priority set yet, needs discussion. I'm not yet marking this bug as verified because pantheon is still failing to snap. More digging is needed there in order to know if it's because the bug is still open, or there's something else missing by the yaml. That's the only remaining task. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1600090 Title: [SRU] New stable micro release 2.12.1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapcraft/+bug/1600090/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
