[Bug 1435465] Re: Alt+F4 crashes app where WebView embedded in a Window
The difference between having the root item of the scene being a plain Item or a Window is that I’m seeing the destructor for BrowserThreadQEventDispatcher being called (Item) or not (Window). When the root item of the scene is not a Window, qmlscene wraps the scene in a QQuickView, which inherits from QQuickWindow. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1435465 Title: Alt+F4 crashes app where WebView embedded in a Window To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/oxide/+bug/1435465/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1629190] [NEW] fstab causes duplicate entries for mounts which then are desynchonized as to mount state
Public bug reported: using the /media/$USER/mountpoint support i wanted to show a squashfs file that i mounted during boot in Places. Simple (thought i) place this in fstab: /media/i30817/Huggin/Documents/Games/playstation_1.sqsh /mnt/Playstation squashfs ro,nofail,noexec,nodev,nosuid,users,x-gvfs-show 0 0 any user can mount it, it is no using /media/ mounts to minimize the possibility of 'automounters' conflict, what could go wrong? Then i realized that the kernel (maybe?) creates another mountpoint from the squash file to /dev/loop0 when i or the root (on boot) mounts the file. I suppose they're supposed to be transparently coupled, umounting the 'real' dir removes the loopback and that is fine. What's not fine is: 1. both show in Places in nautilus 2. on boot, if i don't specify 'noauto' (which i don't want), there is the very real possibility that nautilus gets confused and when i click on playstation it tells me that 'playstation_1.sqsh is already mounted by /dev/loop0', and only shows the option to 'mount' and not 'unmount' (even if it's already mounted as a simple cmd line tests) if i right click on the Playstation place item. This is very similar to this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gvfs/+bug/442130 but of course the current workaround of using UUIDs does not work since a squashfs mount is in fact, not a partition and therefore has no UUID and i need users anyway. [Bug 1628061] Re: iwl4965 crashes randomly
Michael Kiermaier, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. In order to allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue, at your earliest convenience, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D ? Please keep in mind the following: 1) The one to test is at the very top line at the top of the page (not the daily folder). 2) The release names are irrelevant. 3) The folder time stamps aren't indicative of when the kernel actually was released upstream. 4) Install instructions are available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds . If testing on your main install would be inconvenient, one may: 1) Install Ubuntu to a different partition and then test this there. 2) Backup, or clone the primary install. If the latest kernel did not allow you to test to the issue (ex. you couldn't boot into the OS) please make a comment in your report about this, and continue to test the next most recent kernel version until you can test to the issue. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this issue is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon, next to the word Tags, located at the bottom of the report description: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Where X, and Y are the first two numbers of the kernel version, and Z is the release candidate number if it exists. If the mainline kernel does not fix the issue, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-X.Y-rcZ Please note, an error to install the kernel does not fit the criteria of kernel-bug-exists-upstream. Also, you don't need to apport-collect further unless specifically requested to do so. It is most helpful that after testing of the latest upstream kernel is complete, you mark this report Status Confirmed. Lastly, to keep this issue relevant to upstream, please continue to test the latest mainline kernel as it becomes available. Thank you for your help. ** Tags added: bios-outdated-f.27 ** Tags added: regression-release ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1628698 Title: Hibernate stopped working after upgrading to Xubuntu 16.04.1 LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1628698/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1573755] Re: Compose and dead keys stopped working with XIM after upgrade to 16.04
I upgraded from Trusty to Xenial. Before the upgrade, the compose key was working in all applications, except maybe Torchat (which I hadn't used for months before the upgrade). After the upgrade: *Konqueror works properly when I use the Dvorak layout and the compose key. If, however, I switch to Greek and attempt to type an accented iota, I get an accented c (ć) instead. (The accent is a dead key in the Greek layout.) *In Kate, Kwrite, and Kmail, it works only if the resulting character code is less than 256 (I can type ÿ, but not Ÿ, which I have to copy from Konqueror). *In Firefox, Torchat, and Konsole, it does not work at all. I hit compose and two keys that should make a character, but get nothing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1573755 Title: Compose and dead keys stopped working with XIM after upgrade to 16.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1573755/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1628553] Re: Ubuntu 16.04.1 Install zfsutils-linux Panic Error, endless loop
I think I got the numbers right, but in any case, this is the gist of the error: PANIC: blkptr at 88040b993640 DVA 1 has invalid OFFSET 36830022909049856 What was the last version of ZFS-on-Linux (that you were using) that works? Was that the only version of ZFS you had ever used? Can you attach the output of: sudo zpool status sudo zpool upgrade sudo zdb I assume you have swap on ZFS and this is breaking when it tries to access the swap dataset? If so, can you provide this output (substitute for rpool/swap as appropriate), which you should probably compress: sudo zdb -d rpool/swap I'm not sure that'll be enough information (as I'm not expert enough to debug at this level), but it should be a start for me to take this to someone else. If it is happening with swap, try moving the swap dataset out of the way, and create a new one: sudo zfs move rpool/swap rpool/swap-broken sudo zfs create -V 4G -b $(getconf PAGESIZE) -o compression=zle \ -o logbias=throughput -o sync=always \ -o primarycache=metadata -o secondarycache=none \ -o com.sun:auto-snapshot=false rpool/swap sudo mkswap -f /dev/zvol/rpool/swap This will hopefully get you working again on the latest ZFS. If you keep the old dataset around, then we may still be able to debug how this happened. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1628553 Title: Ubuntu 16.04.1 Install zfsutils-linux Panic Error, endless loop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zfs-linux/+bug/1628553/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1617849] Re: latest system update broke fglrx video drivers, so no more 3d video acceleration
I'm afraid I cannot include the output requested, because I have since replaced the 14.04 LTS installation that this bug affected with a 16.04 LTS install. I had been under the mistaken understanding that Catalyst drivers / fglrx were necessary for my use case, which is why I had installed 14.04 LTS. I have since learned that the Mesa 10.1 version in the 14.04 LTS release is is about 2 years old, and the OpenGL drivers were not quite usable. However the OpenGL driver version in 16.04 LTS, which I have since installed, is perfectly suitable for my use case, and appears to outperform fglrx. I suspect that the 14.04 LTS upgrade that deprecated fglrx was related to fglrx's incompatibility with an X and/or kernel update. While 14.04's OpenGL drivers are not suitable for my video card, those in 16.04 more than suffice. In other words, the fix to this 'bug' seemed to be to update/upgrade to Ubuntu 16.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1617849 Title: latest system update broke fglrx video drivers, so no more 3d video acceleration To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1617849/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1608934] Re: ephemeral/swap disk creation fails for local storage with image type raw/lvm
Reviewed: https://review.openstack.org/368216 Committed: https://git.openstack.org/cgit/openstack/nova/commit/?id=9146f9d602ae1ee64cd8ccbf6fc371bc3fb36395 Submitter: Jenkins Branch:stable/mitaka commit 9146f9d602ae1ee64cd8ccbf6fc371bc3fb36395 Author: Jens Rosenboom Date: Mon Aug 15 13:16:58 2016 +0200 Fix resizing in imagebackend.cache() The Raw and Lvm backends do not create a 'base image' (the file in the image cache) when creating an ephemeral or swap disk. However, cache() expects it to exist when checking if a resize is required. This change ignores the resize check if the backing file doesn't exist. This happens to be ok, because ephemeral and swap disks are always created with the correct target size anyway, and therefore never need to be resized. NOTE(mriedem): There is a slight change in the commit message and test since the Raw image backend was renamed to Flat in Newton. Since Flat didn't exist in Mitaka it's better to use Raw here. [Bug 1629145] Re: Fix CVE-2016-7787
Hey Seth, I can confirm that this package does build correctly. I built it locally. As for testing, the instructions for reproducing this CVE are not entirely clear (I don't know what "specially crafted" command they are referring to, it could be a lot of things). [Bug 1615474] Re: Network Indicator / Connectivity-API is not accessible
Today I had the same issue. A have got OTA-13. A few days ago disk went full and many creepy behaviours occurred. So I tidied up and all was okay. Today my phablet had shutted off because of very low battery. After charging a while I booted the phone and indicator-network was away like these bug. I ran mv .config/connectivity-service .config/connectivity-service_2016-09-30 to remove the config like in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source /indicator-network/+bug/1627953 but preserving a backup. Instantly WiFi cames up and after a few seconds also both SIM cards. But the labels of both SIM cards were missing. I rebooted and everything seems fine now. [Bug 1628351] Re: PNG loading degraded
This bug appears to have been introduced with `pillow- CVE-2014-9601.patch` as part of `2.3.0-1ubuntu3.2`. This patch was sourced (at least partially) from this Pillow commit: https://github.com/python- pillow/Pillow/commit/0b75526ffe41a4697231beb8b5740617c98f290b However, this commit occurs after an earlier commit that changes all instances of `len` to `length`, to prevent shadowing: https://github.com/python- pillow/Pillow/commit/d594c0241aabeda6725fefc44ccc7f945c0464c9 As such, it crashes whenever you try to read any PNG with a text chunk. Since this is specifically the use-case the CVE patch was designed for, I find it surprising that apparently nobody tested it. I have created and attached a patch for `2.3.0-1ubuntu3.2` that works on the PNG's I've tried. Instead of renaming all instances of `len`, it just does the minimal changes needed to get this to work. It's up to you guys whether you'd rather follow upstream or not, but please fix this fast, because this is a pretty serious bug. ** CVE added: http://www.cve.mitre.org/cgi- bin/cvename.cgi?name=2014-9601 ** Attachment added: "fix for text chunk loading" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pillow/+bug/1628351/+attachment/4751405/+files/fix-CVE-2014-9601.patch.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1628351 Title: PNG loading degraded To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pillow/+bug/1628351/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thanks Simon, the patch looks good; I changed the debian/changelog to match our usual style: * SECURITY UPDATE: kdesu may show a different string than it would execute with elevated privileges. [Bug 1629118] Re: lxd init should set compression=lz4 on ZFS
Right, because these are *containers*, so it's a filesystem tree, not a single device. I'm so used to full VMs. So this all sounds great and fixed. [Bug 1629118] Re: lxd init should set compression=lz4 on ZFS
LXD itself doesn't care about the atime, though we could potentially use it to reduce overhead to figure out the last time some resource was used (rather than track in our database). But where it matters is for the container itself. Some workloads do care about atime, such as file servers, file indexing services, some databases, ... and we have no idea what the user is going to use the container for, so just turning it off isn't really an option. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1629118 Title: lxd init should set compression=lz4 on ZFS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxd/+bug/1629118/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
