I haven't used Thunderbird for a few years, but if there aren't other
reports of this problem, I'd mark it as fixed.

Cheers,

[Bug 1779671] Re: grub would not install on 64GBSDD on port 0

2018-07-02 Thread rlrostron
I think I figured out why grub would not install on 64GBSDD on port 0 as
reported earlier. I had set the first part of the SDD disk as a swap area and
this may have removed any space for the grub install. After leaving 1MB
space, the grub installed correctly.

[Bug 900085] Re: Thunderbird has mangled my messages with parts of existing messages making it impossible to communicate further.

2018-07-02 Thread gf
Hello Ray,
I am sorry you had such problems with Thunderbird back in 2011. I am checking
into these older bug reports. Is this still a problem?

There have been several versions of Ubuntu and Thunderbird since then.

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the
ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, and I am sorry to take an additional amount of
your time, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect 900085

and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for
this particular issue.

Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and Thunderbird better.

[Bug 1778704] Re: redeployment of node with bcache fails

2018-07-02 Thread Gábor Mészáros
Ryan,

I did some more testing and seems the issue originates from how I do
storage preparation, using the vendor's proprietary tool, during
commissioning I reconfigure all the RAID controllers, during which the
drives get disconnected and re-plugged later. This results that curtin
does not see the bcache drives as attached, but the physical layout on
the drives remain.

I assume curtin only does the wipefs when the bcache devices are attached,
correct?
What I did for now, maybe just a workaround, but to wipe the drives during the
drive configuration commission script.

[Bug 1044302] Re: FF cannot start

2018-07-02 Thread Paul White
steinerdieter, thank you for taking the time to report this bug and
helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have
the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have
been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and
your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help
us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version.

When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated
logs by running only once:

apport-collect 1044302

[Bug 1754886] Re: Eclipse fails to start on fresh 18.04 installation

2018-07-02 Thread gimfoxhound
Let's summarize the situation!
Yesterday I was happy to pass from Kubuntu 14.04 -where everything were fine-
to Kubuntu 18.04. Today I tried to simply access to another windows desktop.
Impossible! Because of 'too much security'! I set up MySQL workbench with MySQL
server, with the Workbench client I tried to access to mysql server -port 3306-
 impossible yet!
I tried to set up Amule, just for the fun, KAD is blocked!
I tried to set up and launch Netbeans, bad idea! It did not work! Netbeans
failed to launch. After I set up Eclipse, and I tried to launch Eclipse I
retrieved this kind of beautiful message 'An Error has occured! etc...'
the same message shown above. I foresaw to install Weblogic and Websphere, but
...it seems to be a bad idea, regarding my "Hot" experience since yesterday!
What the hell did U do ? Is Kubuntu 18.04 be an O/S ?
Why didn't you warn us that Kubuntu 18.04 is only made for connecting funny
smartphones, and tablets with Desktops ? But mostly not for other things!

I left the world of Microsoft since 2006. I don't want to be back! Since 2008 I
only know the world of Ubuntu/Kubuntu. Yes indeed, in the past there were some
bugs. It is normal! But at this scale I could never imagine! It seems to be and
indictment!
What should I do now ?

Could you confirm that this is no longer a problem and that we can close the
ticket?
Or, if it is still a problem, could you run the following (only once):
apport-collect 880761

and upload the updated logs and and any other logs that are relevant for
this particular issue.

Thank you again for helping make Ubuntu and Thunderbird better.
