[Bug 712621] Re: Missing notification message when a VPN gets connected
Looking at this further, I noticed that there is indeed a notification message for VPN established in Natty. Turns out it was enabled upstream a little after Maverick release. Note that VPN established notifications should have appeared before as well, in cases where there is a banner on connection (possible at least for vpnc and OpenVPN). ** Description changed: Binary package hint: network-manager When I connect to a pptp VPN Via the Network Manager menu I can see that the connection is in progress from the Network Manager icon (wave icon over the arrows) , and I can see that the connection is up when the Network icon gets the small lock. But there is no notification message that inform the user that the - connection is up (like the one when the wired network connection is - established). + connection is up, (like the one when the wired network connection is + established) but if the connection is dropped for some reason the + notification came out.
