Yes.
o Open both documents.
o Go to File | Templates > | Organize... .
o Select Documents from the drop-down menus at the foot of both panels.
o Double-click the source document to show the Styles icon.
o Double-click its Styles icon to show the styles included in the
source document.
o Hold down Ctrl and drag the required style to the destination
document, most easily in the other panel (though you can drag within
the same panel).

Note that you need to use Ctrl+drag: simple dragging moves the style
instead of copying it (if, as above, the source document is open at
the time). If you prefer, you can avoid this danger by leaving the
source document closed and using the File... button in the Template
Management panel to browse to and add the file to the list.

I trust this helps.

I do follow so far (somehow).
But, if I understand you correctly, that would work only with new
(empty) documents.
I would like to apply the styles I created in one spread sheet to
another similar spread sheet that
that already contains data.

What would be the solution in this case.
(I am using LO 3.6.4.3)

It may depend upon what version of LibreOffice you are using.
Using 3.6.6.3, create a new spreadsheet with all the styles and
formatting that you want. Click the Save icon and save it in the
template folder of the config folder as a Calc template. To use this
template, use File > New > Templates and Documents. This opens the
Templates and Documents dialog. Select the spreadsheet template and
click OK.
Using 4.0.3.3, create a spreadsheet with all the styles and formatting
that you want. File > Save AS Template. This opens the Template Manager
dialog. Click the Save icon in it, and name the file. To use this
template, use File > New > Templates. In the Template tab, double click
the spreadsheet template you created.

[libreoffice-users] assign templates in Calc

2013-05-21 Thread Thomas Blasejewicz
Good evening
I know you can create templates in Writer and then assign them to other
documents, using an extension.

Now I tried to do the same thing in Calc. Does not seem to work.

Is there a way of "copying" styles from one Calc document to another?
Or assigning a template?

That would be really helpful.

Thank you
Thomas
